During 2540, Alexander was doing a recon operation with his fellow Spartans. The operation went sour, as brutes had found them. He, and his Recon spartans fought their way back to the pelican. Unfortunately, a brute chieftain attacked Alexander, Alexander put up a good fight, but the brute managed to get to him. The brute tore off his left arm, biting into the flesh and tearing it off. Alexander's spartans pushed the brutes back and managed to get Alexander. Alexander was immediately flown back to the guild and given a replacement. The arm is surgically attached, and he is the only Spartan with a robotic arm.
