So Today was Remembrance Day, the day when we stop and think about the sacrifices that brave men and women made, many years ago, on countless occasions, on our behalf, to ensure our ongoing and continued freedom, and our eternal right to self-determination. This is a day that every freedom loving person, regardless of nationality or creed, should honor and respect. Of course, you have a RIGHT not to honor and respect this day, but it is typically considered a dick thing to do. I have never met a person who does not, at the very least, recognize the sacrifices and respect it. I, for one, take every chance I get to appreciate what others fought to give me. I can say, with total certainty, that I have used the freedom that others died to give me, for noble and just causes that history can look upon and say "these actions and contributions were good".

However...I cannot say the same for other people. In fact, when I look around at what society had turned into, what society values, what it praises, and what it denounces, I shake my head and die a little inside. When I look at society I am forced to ask myself..."what did our veterans die for, and was their sacrifice worth it"? Truthfully and honestly, I am of the firm belief that if I exclude myself from the context of society, I can say, in sound mind and judgement, that our veterans died for nothing of substantive value. The countless men and women that died to buy our freedom, died for nothing of substantive value. What a terrible truth.

I cannot even begin to imagine what goes through the minds of our veterans at this time of the year. I cannot imagine the disgusted feeling they get when they see people like Miley Cyrus swinging around on demolition balls naked, or people like Kanye West being Kanye West, or people like Robin Thicke, Psy, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, or Katy Perry making music, or that entire cesspool of human filth called Hollywood pumping out dog shit that has apparently passed as movies in the "film industry", or shows like "Tenn Mom", "1 Girl and 5 Gays", "The View", "Jersey Shore", "Honey Boo Boo", "Toddlers & Tiaras", "Confessions: Animal Hoarding", "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant", "My Strange Addiction", and "Keeping up with the Kardashians". While I cannot imagine what they feel, I know damn well what they have said to me. For example, my next door neighbor, who is a veteran of the second world war, and a LONG time member of the armed services, told me that he wishes he had been killed during the war if only to be spared the horrible fate of having Reality TV thrusted upon him in his aged years. In fact, he told me a story about a very good friend of his who was massacred and literally turned into bloody swiss cheese by a German gun placement. Needless to say, the story was very ruthless and disturbing. However, what disturbed me the most was when my neighbor said that when he thinks about what his friend died for, he contemplates suicide, as he finds it unbearable that so many of his friends died for "fucking bullshit, fags, child rapists, criminal politicians, and Kim Kardashian cunts and lesbians". My neighbor said that in hindsight, he regrets fighting for the freedom that we enjoy today.

How sad is that? When a veteran says he REGRETS fighting for our freedom after seeing what we did with it, I think we have INDEED lost the right to have that freedom. I will be the first to admit that some facets of our society have used that freedom for good, but there is still the OVERWHELMING amount of filth and trash that overshadows all of the good that has been done. Truthfully and honestly, our society needs to clean up its act, and it needs to show our veterans that their sacrifices were worth it, and that we DO deserve our freedom. However, as nice as it is to say that we need to show our vets that we do deserve freedom, the fact is, it will never happen. Our vets are dying every day. We are transitioning into an era where we have already lost all of our WW1 Vets, and we are only a few years from losing all of our WW2 vets. Does anyone here honestly think that we can clean ourselves up in such short order, when we have spent so much time lowering the bar? Going down is easier than going up. Lowering standards is easier than raising them.

When I watched videos like the one I posted above, I shake my head and I KNOW for a FACT that those WORDS are full of shit. How can people honestly believe the "sentimental words" in that video when the actions of society and The Government say the exact opposite. It is my opinion, that the video SHOULD sound something...like this:

"Fuck you. You get nothing for your service. Feel free to rot, starve, and freeze in slums and in boxes and don't you DARE bitch about it. We don't want to have to move our lazy fat fucking asses off the couch to turn the volume up on our TV so we can better hear Honey Boo Boo's cholesterol levels shoot through the roof. That is all".

At least a video that says that would be honest, and in keeping with the attitudes of the society of today.

Let me leave you with some of the BEST of the BEST of our music industry. Enjoy the fruits of our freedom.

I've always held true that what made Freedom so great was something to opposite it like World War 2's Socialist Germany. Albeit we didn't get involved at first, but when we did, the country changed into a great and idolized power. After years of being that good, we declined. I hold with strong belief that the only way to turn modern society around is to have World War 3. Yes, people will die. Yes, war is hell. But when the government starts drafting people to serve in a war and it's someone you love that must leave and you may never see them again? Reality will set in quickly that this it will be something serious, and for once, everyone may look around and see what we are fighting for.

It is terrible and degrading knowing people I love and care have fought for something that is worthless nowadays. It's awful sitting here knowing that my life has been impacted from someone dying in WW2 and that it was a loss that wouldn't be worth it. And even more, I have friends who are still willing to fight and die for their countries, regardless of this bullshit. And knowing that if the world continues the way it does, they're dying for nothing. And that terrifies me.

I show my respects and take time to reflect every time I see a soldier. They show me the path I would never follow. Maybe I'm a coward and I don't want to throw my life away. Maybe it's because I'm weak and wimpy and lazy and I don't want to invest, and that in itself is pathetic too, but to have my chance to do what I want in life, be who I want to be, I'll repay them to not succumb to the mainstream media. I stand by that it may seem like nothing, but I'm sure any soldier is happy to fight for those who appreciate the sacrifice they are willing to make. I know I would be if I were them. Sure society sucks ass, but there are still those who live for their sacrifices and will appreciate it for what it is worth.

(I really have no idea where I was taking this)

"The selfless sacrifice of day to day military personnel, especially combat veterans, is under-appreciated. You got the American society who wanna run as fast as they can to the counter shop and the fucking news stands and grab motherfucking US Weekly and fucking People Magazine just to see what fucking Jake Gyllenhaal did on Thursday afternoon. You know what I did on Thursday afternoon? I put one of my motherfucking Marines on a plane. I put that motherfucker on a bird to fucking nowhere. I picked his lifeless ass up, put him on a stretcher, and put him off. Why don’t that be in a fucking magazine? Or how about lets put a day in the life of any average Marine out here going through the streets of Ramadi. The biggest concern of the public is that they couldn’t buy a fucking mocha latte at Starbucks cause it was under construction. Our biggest concern is getting fucking blown up on two niner five and Michigan. But we’re gonna go home and they gonna wave their little flags and say "Welcome home, thanks for preserving our right to go on not giving a fuck".
