a one world Government would never work IMO.
The only time I could see it working is if you did one of the three following things:
- Totally abolish religion, currency, states, and regions
- Have a one-world religion and currency
- Maintain a single and current religion and currency, and simply destroy all the others.
Each of these three cases are literally doomsday scenarios. Why?
- If you totally abolish all sense of regional, political, and spiritual sense of identity...you would face considerable backlash, which could (and would) spark a war.
- If you try to merge currencies, states, or religions into one super-conglomerate...you would face backlash from people who don't want to be merged, and once again...war
- This is pretty self explanatory.
Our individuality and our discontinuity between the states is what makes us who we are and what determines who the global powers are. Like, recently, the Government of Canada refused to provide money to bail out the Euro Zone. We refused to do it. Our Government stood up and, in once voice, said no. That gave us power over our own destiny. In a one-world-Government...we would be at the mercy of people on the other side of the planet.
Our individuality and self-governing system is what makes us strong. To allow a one world Government is to throw yourself at the mercy of incredibly powerful bureaucrats!
Fuck being a Global Citizen, or citizen of the world. I don't give a shit about bailing out failing countries, or coming to their aid. I belong to one nation state, use one currency, and speak one language.
