Vernette nodded, as he picked up the armor restraint, holding it like one would a donut, and turned to look at a Spartan IV, who was standing guard in the corner. Vernette paused for a moment, and then looked back at Cochraine, as he showed the device to her. Vernette: Go ahead and take notes, but, it is fairly straight forward. These were designed to have a quick and easy deployment. When you are being engaged by a Spartan, there is no time for a 12 step checklist. We wanted easy and quick. Vernette paused, as he rotated the device, to show Cochraine a button that was on the side of the armor restraint. Vernette: See this button on the side? This is what you use to activate the device. One quick tap of the button and... Vernette pressed the button on the device. As he did, the top of the device illuminated with a red light, as it began to spin. Vernette: One the lights are illuminated...the device is ready for deployment. Observe... Vernette turned and looked back at the Spartan who was standing in the corner, roughly 12 feet away. Without any sort of indication or warning, Vernette threw the armor restraint at the Spartan. As Vernette threw the restraint, The Spartan quickly turned his head, and looked in Vernette's and Cochraine's direction. However, before he could react any more, the armor restraint latched onto the Spartan's chest. Once the device was latched, the Spartan's armor gave off a very faint glow, and the device gave off a soft whizzing noise. Vernette: Spartan Forbes...I apologize for the impromptu test...but...The Captain took me up on my offer for a demonstration. The Spartan was silent. Vernette: Tell me Spartan...how effective is the armor restraint? Spartan Forbes: Very effective, Sir. Vernette looked back at Cochraine. Vernette: So long as that device is active...the MJOLNIR is completely locked down. Unless the device is removed by an outside force, the Spartan is rendered helpless. Removal of the device is as simple as pulling it off the armor. It requires a bit of a tug, but, that is to ensure that any bumps don't knock the device off. Vernette approached Spartan Forbes, and grabbed the armor restraint. With a forceful tug, Vernette pulled the armor restraint off of Spartan Forbes, restoring the Spartan back to full functionality. Vernette: Thank you Spartan. Again, my apologies. Vernette turned, and looked back at Cochraine, as he set the armor restraint down on the desk. Vernette: Any questions?
