Cameron watched as Liam had signaled the retreat. He was unsure as to why he would do such a thing, but at the moment, he couldn't care less. As Liam fell back, Cameron got back to his feet, as he reclaimed his Assault Rifle from the ground. He took aim at Liam and the other members of The Risk Takers as they fell back, and he began to fire at them. Cameron: They are falling back! Engage! We have them! Cameron's voice echoed through the hanger bay, as the other members of The Risk Takers and Hammer Team fell back. Anaconda began to climb back to his feet, when he saw Thor and Freyja falling back as well. He growled at them, as looked around. Anaconda was too smart to simply chase Thor and Freyja, to the point where he would find himself surrounded by The Risk Takers and Hammer Team. Instead, Anaconda looked to his side, as he grabbed the DMR from a fallen UNSC Marine, and with one hand, began to fire. UNSC Weapons were not his first choice of weaponry, but at this point, anything would do. Tye had moved forward, as he reloaded his SMGs, and joined in the firefight, firing at the retreating Trust forces. As Tye moved forward, he noticed out of the corner of his eye, Nighthawk's vulture take off, as it hovered about 12 feet above ground. The two chin mounted chain guns began to rev up, as they fired on the retreating Spartans, literally littering the field with bullets. Tyber: We have them! Keep firing! Push them all the way back! Don't let up! Advance...advance!

[Dark-F137]

As the Risk Takers retreated, Jesse jumped out, firing on a Trust Marine and sending him flying into a group, causing then to lose their footing and trip over their comrade before diving out of the way of the Vulture's fire, rolling and standing up. "I'm baaaaaaaaaack!" He called as he readied his shotgun once more. "Did ya miss me?"

[Kairu]

Hammer Team fell back with the Risk Takers and remaining Trust marines. Axlon and Cadieux joined in firing on Hammer Team. When Nighthawk fired up his chaingun, Hammer Team broke into a sprint, hoping to avoid taking too much damage. The volley fire from Nighthawk's vulture continued, rapidly draining the shields on the Spartans.

[Hells Sniper]

When the Vulture began to fire, the Risk Takers had reformed up on each other. All six of them ran down the hangar bay and all six noticed Savannah's body. Liam was the first to run over to it, still under a hail of gunfire from every one still left in the hangar bay. Liam grabbed Savannah's torso, while Desmond grabbed the bottom half as they both began to heft her over their shoulders and continue to run under the hail of gunfire. The Risk Takers continued to run, forming into a V-shape as they ran down the corridor. Liam: All points, this is the Risk Takers. Hammer team and us are falling back, we are on our way to checkpoint Epsilon! Get a medic! Liam continued to run as he held Savannah tight to him. Liam knew in his heart that Savannah was dead and that there was nothing he could to do help her at the moment, but he knew he had to try. He owed her that much. Eventually, the Risk Takers were out of the hangar bay and on their way to the checkpoint. Diamond Team had continued to fire on them as they ran off, but eventually the firing died down as the Risk Takers and Hammer Team left the hangar bay. That's when all of Diamond Team had noticed the dead Spartan being carried out and Jacob in the corner. Eventually, they all jogged over to him.

[Naked Crook]

Cameron resumed laying down fire. As he did, he noticed both Liam and Desmond stopping near a body. Cameron used his HUD to zoom in on what was happening...and what he saw shocked him. He could not believe what he was seeing. He witnessed Liam and Desmond recovering the severed torso and lower body of Savannah. Cameron: I don't believe it... Tye continued to fire his SMGs until they ran totally dry. He began to reload, as Hammer Team and The Risk Takers showed no sign of halting their retreat. Tye could not believe what he was seeing. He could not believe that they had won. He could not believe that his forces had managed to force Spartans into a full retreat. Tyber: Wow...I can't believe that we won! They totally outclassed us... As Tye laughed, Anaconda simply walked by, and gave a single response. Anaconda: I am not surprised at all. As Anaconda said this, the Vulture landed once more, as Nighthawk stepped out. He shook his head, as he walked towards Anaconda. Nighthawk: So anticlimactic. I thought I was gonna save the day. Oh well...as long as we have secured the beachhead, and The Trust is on the run on their own ship. I cannot complain! Tye holstered his SMGs, as he rubbed the back of his head. Tyber: Why the hell did they suddenly fall back? I don't get it! They were advancing...then they simply...gave up. What gives? Nighthawk and Anaconda shrugged, but the question was answered by Cameron. Cameron: The answer to that question will please Nighthawk and Anaconda. As Cameron reloaded, and placed his Assault Rifle on his back, he spoke. Cameron: Spartan Z149 has been killed in action. The Risk Taker known as Savannah is dead. As the Risk Takers fell back, I caught a glimpse of Liam and Desmond carrying...both parts of her to safety. She was...cut in half. Nighthawk and Anaconda looked at Cameron. They were totally silent for a moment, before Nighthawk began to chuckle. Nighthawk: Are you serious? Cameron: Absolutely. Savannah is dead. Anaconda began to laugh out loud. His deep, gravely laughter echoed in the hanger bay. Nighthawk simply folded his arms, his posture and the way he was standing said it all; he was overjoyed by the news. He was glad she was dead. Nighthawk: Good. You have no idea how WORTH IT the death of a Risk Taker makes this. I am going to rub salt into this wound...and I am going to enjoy tormenting those BASTARDS with this. This is a great victory for Anaconda and myself. Nighthawk paused. Nighthawk: Regardless of who killed her...she is dead...and that is all that matters! Nighthawk began to laugh. Nighthawk: Could this get any better? Anaconda nodded, as he pointed at Jacob's unconscious body. Anaconda: There is the traitor that betrayed us at ONI Installation Desert. I think he is dead...because I can semll his blood from here...and he smells raw... Nighthawk clapped his hands together. Nighthawk: YES! This day just gets better and better! I am so EXCITED to see what happens next! Nighthawk reached to his side, as he drew his Magnum, as he began to walk towards Jacob's unconscious body. Nighthawk: Oh wait...I do know what happens next! Nighthawk paused, as he saw Fireteam Diamond move up on Jacob. Nighthawk: I really hope that TRAITOR is still alive...

[Kairu]

Hammer Team was close behind the Risk Takers. They all saw Savannah's two halves and were morbidly curious and horrified at the same time. Thor took off his helmet to allow some fresh air, what was considered 'fresh', to be felt. Thor: "Jesus Christ, Liam, what the hell happened?" Axlon and Cadieux managed to bring Robertson and Arman together as they stayed close to keep an eye on their squadmates.

Dark slowly stood, glaring at Desmond. He picked up his DMR off of the ground, checking the ammo counter. "Seven..." He read aloud, just outside of the Vulture's line of fire. He didn't care. He slowly walked out of the way, his holding his DMR loosely at his side. "Oh brother, thou hath betrayed me..." He said. After the fire had ended, he and Jesse regrouped on Tye, just in time to hear the news. "Savannah is dead?" He asked himself quietly. "Sir... I am awaiting orders." He said. The medic stood. "How's your Sergeant?" Traiuson asked, his M7 SMG in his hands now. He had a balaclava on him, but he had lowered that so it hung around his neck. Jesse sighed as he jogged over to Robertson, sighing. "Doc. How is he?" "He'll live if we can get him EVACed. Soon. Same goes for her. That was a pretty nasty wound. Sniper rifle round I'm guessing?"

[Hells Sniper]

Strike Team Diamond had their weapons raised on Jacob as each of them approached him. Slowly, Ice lowered his weapon and walked over to him, sticking two of his fingers underneath Jacob's chin, checking for a pulse. Ice: It's faint, but he's alive. Ice stood up and looked at Snyder, nodding. Snyder dropped his weapon and ran over as she began to check on Jacob and patch up his wounds. She used the biofoam she had to cover up the wounds while Ice looked around the area. Ice saw the sword a few meters away and went over to pick it up, it was covered in blood. Ice held it as he jogged over to Tye. Ice: Sir, he's alive. Faint pulse, dozen or so bullet wounds, but he's alive. This was also near the pool of blood. Ice held out the sword in his hand, handing it to Tye. Meanwhile: The Risk Takers and Hammer Team had ran past each checkpoint, passing through the dozens of dead bodies left by Anaconda and Jacob. As they approached Epsilon, they all slowed down and Liam finally responded to Thor. Liam: It was Captain Sharpmen...he betrayed us, used our technology and killed Savannah. The entirety of the Risk Takers were quiet as Liam and Desmond placed Savannah's body on the ground. Liam knelt down next to it and stayed there for a few moments, looking at Savannah. The other five Spartans circled around him, staring down at the two of them. Slowly, he disengaged the lock on his helmet and removed it as he stared down at her. Liam didn't say a word as his hands reached over to Savannah's helmet and disengaged her locks, he took the helmet off her head and stared at her. Beautiful blonde hair, green eyes, and a pale complexion with just a hint of freckles. Liam stared at her, as his nostrils flared and he grew angrier with each passing second. Liam shut his eyes, trying to figure out what happened. Liam: Savannah...I am...I am so sorry. Liam placed his hands on his face as he wiped it, trying to shake the thought out of his head. Slowly, Liam clenched his fists as he looked for the words talk to the dead Savannah. Liam: I failed you. I didn't listen to you and I failed you. He killed you....the man who you told me not to trust. I failed you Liam paused as he opened his eyes, staring down at Savannah in front of him. Liam: I let him overtake your word...and that cost your life. Oh Savannah...I'm so sorry. I failed you...I failed all of you. Desmond placed his hand on Liam's shoulder and looked down at him. Desmond: Sir...we're not out of this yet. We need you. Liam shook his head as he stared down at Savannah. He had nothing more to say. He had nothing to say to Savannah. Liam just sat there, holding onto Savannah's arm, not wanting to let go. Desmond: Liam. Get back in here. Get back in this game. Liam shook his head as he began to stand up, he reached over to Savannah's chest and grabbed her dog tags, wrapping them in his hand. As he stood he grabbed his helmet and locked it on his head. Liam turned to a few marines and looked at them. Liam: You four...get this body to Doctor Novak for preservation immediately. Liam wasn't going to lose Savannah. He wasn't going to lose all of her. The four marines however didn't move as they just looked at Liam and then the body. Liam lunged forward and yelled. Liam: Doctor Novak! Now! The four marines jolted to life as they each grabbed a part of Savannah as they began to drag it towards an elevator. Jessica and Desmond both approached Liam. Jessica: Liam, what in God's name are you doing? Liam snapped back at Jessica as he stared at her. Liam: I am saving this team. Everybody, lock and load. Prepare for a fight! Now! Liam reloaded his DMR as he stared down the hallway. He was intent on destroying something. Liam: We are going to end this. Here and now. We are going to kill every last one of those people. We are going to rip Nighthawk limb from limb and we are going to let him watch as we tear Anaconda in half. Liam turned to his Spartans. Five of them lined up, all quiet, all unmoving and all of them staring back at him. Liam: And we are going to make Jacob suffer. We are going to make him suffer. Desmond and Jessica nodded. Lyle, Emma, and William all reloaded their weapons and stared back at them. Liam: We are going to show them who they are dealing with. Liam paused as he turned back around and stared down the hallway. He looked around and nodded as he whispered to himself. Liam: I am going to make you proud, Savannah.

[Kairu]

Thor and the rest of Hammer Team were quiet with Liam's brief, but sentimental, eulogy. While no one on Hammer Team directly served and existed close to Savannah like any of the Risk Takers, they were all Class-0s and they were, or perhaps are, still a family. Cam and other ONI Spartans may not realize it, but the loss of Savannah was tormenting to Hammer Team too. Thor then stepped forward, putting his helmet on and locking it back down. The rest of Hammer Team stood ready. Thor: "Liam, tell us how to assist and we'll help avenge her."

[Naked Crook]

Tye looked at Dark, as he thought for a moment. Tyber: Need to round up the wounded, patch up anyone who is in trouble, and get everyone who is still combat-capable up on their feet and ready to move. Tye paused. Tyber: We may have to evacuate people who are in critical condition. If we have taken serious losses, and/or heavy casualties...then I am certain we have not seen the worst. Just as Tye said this, he saw Ice approach him. He looked on, as the soldier held out the bladed weapon. Tye looked at the weapon, and sighed. The last time he had seen one of these weapons, it was under very bad circumstances. Tyber: This weapon... Tye grabbed the weapon by its hilt, as he held it in his hand. He squeezed the hilt, letting the stretching sound of his leather gloves fill the immediate area. As Tye held the weapon, he had a few flashbacks to the last time he had used one to decapitate the man who was once his best friend. Tye then sighed, as he looked at Ice. Tyber: Thank you soldier. You're dismissed. In fact...you're all dismissed. Carry out your orders. Do whatever you have to do. Just...leave me be for a moment... Tye simply turned away, as he walked off, holding the blade. Cameron then spoke up. Cameron: You heard the man. Dismissed. Dark, help round up the injured. Get them together so we can take a head count! Concurrently: Nighthawk and Anaconda approached Diamond Team, as they stood over Jacob. Nighthawk stood behind Snyder, as he watched the soldier work on Jacob's wounds. Nighthawk: So...Jacob is alive? Tell me..."Snyder"...is he healthy enough to get him back on his feet? Nighthawk cracked his knuckles. Nighthawk: I just wanna talk to him...you know? Man to man...mono a mono... Nighthawk paused. Nighthawk: Have a little talk...
