Nighthawks Vulture quickly closed in on the breached Hanger bay of The Ulterior Motive. As Nighthawk closed in, he sent one final message to the other Pelican pilots.
Nighthawk: Be very careful when piling into that hanger bay! The last thing we is for all these birds to smash into one another! Take it slow and be careful!
Nighthawk leaned forward as he he began to slow his Vulture down, as he crossed the threshold of the hanger bay. As soon as Nighthawk's Vulture entered the hanger bay of The Ulterior Motive, he hit the full reverse on his engines, and began to turn the noes of the Vulture, as he eventually came to a full stop. However, his Vulture had not yet landed, and was still suspended by the thrust of the engines.
Nighthawk: Alright Cameron...you're up! Get to the operator console and get the security barriers online and repressurize the deck.
Nighthawk paused.
Nighthawk: Tye...get up here so I can vacume seal the cockpit, so we can let Cam out.
Tye looked at Cam, and gave the Spartan a nod.
Tyber: Git er' done, Cam.
Cam nodded, as Tye moved to the cockpit, letting the door seal behind him. Once the cockpit door had sealed, Cam could hear the rear compartment depressurizing. Once the depressurization of the passenger bay was complete, the rear hatch opened. Cam jumped right into action, as he jumped out of the Vulture. Cam engaged the mag locks on his boots, allowing him to get his feet on the deck plates. Cam looked around for a moment, eventually catching sight of the operator console on the second level of the hanger bay, on a large catwalk which was against the walls of the hanger bay, inside of a secured office.
Cam analyzed the situation, and eventually released the mag locks on his boots, and pushed upwards towards the operators console, allowing the zero gravity environment to do the work for him. Once Cam had reached the second level catwalk, he engaged his mag locks once more, as he made his way towards the console. It only took him about a minute to get everything up and running. By that time, however, all of the Pelican's had managed to enter the large hanger bay, and space out just enough to safely land when the time was right.
Cameron: bringing security barriers back online...now...
As soon as Cam said this, a bright wall of light covered the massive breach in the hanger bay door
Cameron: Repressurization in progress.
As Cam did this, Nighthawk spoke up over the comm line.
Nighthawk: Spartan...listen carefully. No doubt the bridge knows that we have landed in their hanger bay. They are going to try and space us the moment that process completes. However, the current operation has to complete before they can do that.
Nighthawk paused.
Nighthawk: Once the hanger bay pressurzation is complete...you need to start a level 6 verbose diagnostic on all hanger bay systems. These usually go on for about 2-3 hours, and level 6 diagnostics cannot be halted due to the fact that a level 6 diagnostic is a hardware reliability check, which as per hardcoded and static protocols in UNSC military grade mainframes, cannot be halted or interrupted, at any level or clearence. A level 6 diagnostic takes pressurization and depressurization protocols offline for testing. This will ensure that Spender cannot space us the moment we set foot outside of our ships, as the operation to do so will be locked out.
Cameron nodded.
Cameron: That is a very good idea. I will start one the moment the hanger is fully pressurized.
Cam waited a few more moments. When the hanger bay had been fully pressurized, he quickly did as he was instructed, and started the necessary diagnostics.
Cameron: Diagnostics are now in progress. It should be safe now.
Cameron walked away from the operator console, as he jumped back down to the hanger area below. As soon as Cameron hit the ground, the other Pelicans began to open their rear hatches, as the Marines poured out.
Nighthawk and Tye exited Nighthawk;s Vulture. Both men were checking their weapons, as they readied themselves for battle.
Tyber: Good job Cam!
Meanwhile:
As Anaconda followed behind Jacob, he could hear Spender's voice over the ships comm system.
Spender: We have intruders in Hanger Bay 1. All units...converge on that location and eliminate them!
Anaconda growled.
Anaconda: Hanger bay 1 is where we should be going! That is where everyone should be. Let's move it! Pick up the pace!
