Reynolds sat forward in his seat and was about to turn off his terminal and close the comm line to Frost.
Reynolds: "Sure thing, Captain. We'll be over in a few minutes. Reynolds out."
Reynolds pressed the button and walked hurriedly out to the bridge. As he entered, Cochraine looked up, curious if she'd get to know what was happening.
Cochraine: "Captain?"
Reynolds: "Get Anderson up here, now! Lauren, you're with me. We're going to the King Raven for a de-briefing."
Cochraine joined Reynolds' side as they stood at the back of the bridge waiting for Anderson to arrive. Cochraine then dropped her voice to a whisper.
Cochraine: "Marcus, why are we going to the King Raven? I thought the Vigerous Inferno was the flagship of the fleet?"
Reynolds took a moment to think about how to respond. He could tell her openly that ONI has slowly been taking over the San Angeles operation, or he could simply play it down as not knowing. He decided, to better protect his motives and treachery, he would pick the latter.
Reynolds: "I don't know, Lauren but whatever it was, it sounded important."
As the two waited, Anderson finally stepped onto the bridge. His hair was messy and his uniform wasn't fully groomed and tidied, but Reynolds and Cochraine both overlooked it because of the sensitivity of the request. Anderson then looked at both of his C.O.s with curiosity.
Anderson: "What's going on, Sir?"
Reynolds: "Well, Captain Frost has requested me to come aboard the King Raven. I've decided, to help get Commander Cochraine up to speed, she should come along. Make her feel a little more useful."
Cochraine was offended by what Reynolds had just said. She felt as though Reynolds didn't think highly of her and she knew better, but she felt a small sting in the back of her head.
Anderson: "Okay Captain. I can handle it so far. I'll get a sitrep from one of the other officers. Good luck, Sir."
Reynolds: "Thank you, come on."
Reynolds motioned to Cochraine as they left the bridge. As the elevator was sliding down to mid-ship level, Cochraine punched Reynolds in the shoulder. Reynolds cradled the hit out of shock, rather than pain, exclaiming out in pain.
Reynolds: "What was that for?"
Cochraine wasn't pleased with Reynolds' comment and she felt she needed to speak up.
Cochraine: "Make herself feel more useful? That was completely unfair and uncalled for!"
Reynolds: "What's the big deal? I didn't mean anything by it!"
Cochraine: "I'll have you know, Marcus, that I can handle commanding the ship if you're needed elsewhere."
Reynolds put both of his hands to hold on either side of Cochraine's shoulders.
Reynolds: "I know, and I'm sorry."
The door to the mid-ship level slid open.
Reynolds: "Let's go to the King Raven, if you don't mind."
Cochraine decided to get snippy at Reynolds.
Cochraine: "Lead the way, O' Useful One!"
Reynolds shook his head, taking point to the hangar bay with a pelican. When they arrived, they climbed aboard a pelican and the pilot began to take off, next stop, King Raven. Along the way, Reynolds radioed Fireteam Harmony.
Reynolds: "Harmony? Jessica, please respond."
Arman: "Captain? What is going on, Sir?"
Reynolds stood in the cockpit's threshold as he talked to Arman.
Reynolds: "Commander Cochraine and I are en route to the King Raven. I'd appreciate it if you and the rest of Harmony would meet me there."
Arman: "What hangar bay, Sir?"
Reynolds tapped the pilot's shoulder and he gave the designation to Arman on the radio.
Arman: "Yes Sir, we'll be there pronto."
Reynolds: "Good, Reynolds out."
On the King Raven, Fireteam Harmony already began to re-prep their armor and began to jog to Reynolds' designated hangar.
