Captain Frost acknowledged Harrison's orders.
Jennifer: Copy that sir. I still have people being deployed. I will personally ensure that we have a significant show of force ready to go in very short order.
Jennifer paused.
Jennifer: Stand-by sir...I will need to begin coordinate. I will contact you when I have something more. Frost out.
Frost closed the comm line. She looked at the holomap, as she used her right hand to entered in several commands on a control panel that was attached to the holotable. As she did, small blue lights began to pop up on the holomap. These small lights represented King Raven personnel that were currently deployed to new Havana and the surrounding areas.
Jennifer: All King Raven personnel...this is Captain Frost...recall order Alpha-3 is now in effect. All frontline teams and support teams are to remain at their current position and continue engagements against The Covenant. Supplementary teams are to fall back to the designated rendezvous coordinates and await further instructions.
Captain Frost tagged the rendezvous coordinates on the holomap. The coordinates were located in New Havana's city center, approximately 5 miles from the Apex Applied Research Building.
Jennifer: Comms...get me an open channel with The Mind's Attrition. Inform Captain Reynolds that I need to speak with him...right away.
Comms Officer: Yes Ma'am...
Meanwhile:
Admiral Hoffman was in what could best be described as the CEO's office, near the top of the Apex Applied Research building. From his office, he had a wide view of the city below him, out of one side of the building. He could see everything that wanted to be seen...from the gunfire to the explosions from Wraith mortar shells in the distance.
Hoffman: Ants...all of them.
Hoffman sighed. However, as he did, one of the screens in his office lit up, and Renegades face appeared on the screen. The screen beeped in an almost musical tone.
Renegade: Hostiles detected in city sector 9.
Hoffman turned around, and approached a holotable that was in the middle of the office. He looked at it, and noticed that there was a large number of UNSC soldiers gathering in the cit center.
Renegade: Hostiles detected in city sector 9 airspace.
Hoffman could see that there were a few Pelican dropping off a few squads of soldiers, as well as seversl Warthogs and a Scorpion Tank.
Hoffman: Hostiles indeed.
Hoffman turned away.
Hoffman: Renegade...get me Spender.
Renegade: Communication systems for that recipient are encoded for privacy.
Hoffman: Hoffman-theta-theta-one...
Renengade: Encoding authorization accepted. Connecting...please stand by...
After a few moments, Spender appeared on another one of the large screens in the office.
Spender: What is it Hoffman?
Hoffman: Sir...the UNSC is landing a LOT of soldiers in the city center. They brought warthogs and tanks. I hate to sound paranoid...but that is within striking distance of this facility.
Spender: That is paranoid. The UNSC has no idea that The Apex Applied Research building is a Trust installation.
Hoffman: I am aware of that. However...I feel that given the circumstance...caution is required.
Spender: I prefer to play this closer to the chest Admiral. Why should we make it LOOK like we are expecting an attack? For all we know...those soldiers are there to fight The Covenant.
Hoffman: Possibly. I just cannot shake the feeling that something is not right.
Spender sighed.
Spender: If you want to be proactive, then increase the exterior defenses of the building. Start pulling Warthogs out from the parking garage and situate them in the emergancy response areas. If the UNSC does move against the Apex Applied Research building...then you will be in the perfect spot to engage.
Spender paused.
Spender: You can also just go ahead and take control of the city as well. If I am not mistake...Renegade's subversion protocols are ready to deploy across all city services in order to take full control of and overwrite the New Havana superintendent?
Hoffman: Yes...Renegade is ready.
Spender: Then engage his subversion subroutines and take control of the city.
Spender paused.
Spender: And...if you must...deploy the city defenses. Bring the automated defense turrets online and engage the anti air weaponry that has been position around the The Apex Applied Research building. Bring everything online if you must...but do not tip your hand before the UNSC does. If the UNSC wants access to that building...make them die for it. Same goes for The Covenant.
Spender paused.
Spender: Anything else?
Hoffman: No...sir.
Spender: Good. I look forward to reuniting Vanguard with his design schematics. Be sure that you get that terminal out of that building in one piece. I cannot WAIT to see how much damage this thing can do.
Spender grinned, as he closed the comm line. Hoffman sighed, as he turned to the screen with Renegade's avatar on it.
Hoffman: Renegade...make it ours...
Renegade gave several beeps, as his avatar vanished from the screen.
