Background: Navere was born on Palaven in 2146. Like many Turians, Navere lived a life of strict military discipline and structure, which almost literally paved her way into military service. Navere, at the age of 15, joined the Turian armed forces, and quickly became a competent and reliable soldier, often favoring missions that either required a great deal of stealth, or information gathering assignments. In 2157, during the First Contact War, Navere was accidentally exposed to massive quantities of Element-Zero during a combat engagement with humans. As a result of her exposure, Navere began to develop biotic powers. However, as a result of her newly-acquired biotic powers, many Turians became very distrusting of Navere, and even started to question the merits and authenticity of her honor as a Turian. At first, the discrimination that Navere was faced with was limited, but as the years went on, and the use of her biotic powers became more and more a part of her military practice in the field, her commanding officers turned down-right hostile towards her, going so far as to belittle and insult her in as many ways as possible. Despite the difficulty that Navere faced, she continued her service to the Turian armed forces for many years.
In 2179, Navere was chosen to participate in a joint-training mission with a Systems Alliance officer named Alex Underhill. Navere was chosen due to the fact that it was a highly undesirable assignment due to the lingering animosity between the Turians and Humans as a result of the First Contact War. To Navere's surprise, however, she found the experience to be quite satisfying and enjoyable, as she had developed a very unlikely friendship with the Human. Much to Navere's surprise, she found herself quite comfortable and at ease with Alex Underhill because she found the Human to be very pragmatic and reasonable. During the joint training operation, Alex Underhill encouraged Navere to focus on honing her biotic abilities, citing that it was a very rare and exceptional gift. Due in large part to the various aspects of Alex's personality and wisdom, Navere developed a very strong affection for Alex, but never acted on it due to the belief that there would be no reciprocation. However, As a direct result of Alex Underhill's advice and influence, Navere left the Turian armed forces, leaving the persecution and discrimination behind. It was not long before Navere found herself in the employment of The Shadow Broker, who quickly recruited her due to her expertise in information and intelligence gathering and reconnaissance. As of 2182, Navere remains in the employment of The Shadow Broker, occasionally acting as a personal information broker for Alex Underhill, whom she still maintains a "friendship" with, despite her knowledge of his Cerberus involvement.
