Limos had seen Tye rush out to join the marines in battle. He, and the rest of Omega Legion was going to follow him.

Troy, Carmicle, and Colby rushed into the area Tye was defending and took up defensive positions around a pile of sandbags and ammo crates. Limos had run up next to Tye and nodded at him.

Limos: Commander, sir. The fail safe is initiated, all we need is Jacob's PDA and your confirmation codes in order to execute it. The system should wipe all secure data, and replace some of it with false information leading to various random cooridinates around the planet. Most of which, are in the dead-center of forests or abandoned areas.

Meanwhile:

Before Jacob could even respond to Nighthawk's answer, he had already left his presence, leaving Jacob alone in the sub-basement on the way to the tunnel.

Jacob knew there was a fight raging above, but he couldn't risk leaving the sub-basement undefended and vulnerable. His best course of action was to contact Tye.

He activated his comms and connected his to Tye's and spoke.

Jacob: Commander. Nighthawk just bolted, I am assuming he is going to join you and the others in the fight upstairs. But, the door to the tunnel system is vulnerable if I leave, and we will have no escape route if this position remains unguarded. Orders, sir?

On Board the Vigorous Inferno:

Harrison nodded.

Harrison: Good, that's all I wanted to hear.

Harrison stood straight, and put his arms behind his back.

Harrison: Our first order of business is to reengage communication with our field commanders. Those include Captain Frost, Commander Vernette, Captain Sharpmen, and the various others in the cities. I want to know what their situation is, where they are, and what they need.

Harrison paused, he rubbed his chin.

Harrison: We may not be able to take the planet back in space, but we have pelicans, shortswords, and longswords that can drop weapons, supplies, even squads onto the planet. Once that is taken care of, we will figure out how to take out some of those ships...and give us a little advantage in space.

A few decks below:

Suicide Squad was busy re-arming themselves for anything that was to come their way. They knew the planet had been lost in space, and they knew hundreds of marines were dying still. Suicide Squad was going to be sent in soon, they all knew it.

And Athios knew someone wasn't going to survive.

Meanwhile:

Dangerus had since boarded his phantom, along with his bodyguards and a contingent of brutes. Three other phantoms were following his with other brute spec ops.

Pilot: Chieftain, sir! We are nine minutes from the target. Elites have already broken through the initial defenses, although the humans are putting up a good fight.

Dangerus: Interesting. Inform the brutes surrounding the area to begin their push with the rest. One squad at a time...I would rather not waste my troops when we have grunts and jackals to send in.

Pilot: It will be done my Chieftain!

Reynolds thought and then made a suggestion.

Reynolds: "Do you think we have a chance of sending a comm beacon into orbit? Fire it at the opposite side of the planet and keep it in geosyncronous orbit. That should give us comms long enough to coordinate and plan from there."

Meanwhile:

Tye heard Jacob over his comm link. He sighed.

Tyber: Copy that Jacob. I will keep my eyes open for them. It wouldn't hurt to have an extra gun up here.

Tye paused.

Tyber: Just keep that location under guard. Soon enough, you are going to be seeing the critically injured pour in there as we prepare for a possible evac. Do not let a single Covenant soldier near that area. Do whatever you have to do to keep that area clear of hostiles. Based on what I can see up here, The Elites have hit us with literally everything they have...and they broke right through the front door. If we are lucky, they will never attack that location.

Tye paused. He could hear the sound of Plasma fire coming his way. He readied his SMG. He took cover behind a supply crate, and aimed at the door, waiting for the first Covenant soldier to walk through. He knew, that at any moment, they would start pouring in.

Tyber: Keep in touch Jacob...we will keep an open comm line.

Tye gripped his SMG. He tightened his hand around the grip. This was his tell that he was nervous.

However, it was at that moment, that Nighthawk took up position next to Tye. Tye looked over.

Tyber: Jacob said you were coming...

Nighthawk: The party is up here...so this is where I have to be.

Tyber: You were supposed to show him how to defend the evac station in the sub-basement to prevent The Covenant from using it to gain access to this facility.

Nighthawk: Yeah...but...to be honest..the odds of The Covenant using it are slim. They would need to know the exact location of the original point of ingress on the other side of the underground highway. In short...the bigger threat is The Covenant kicking the door down.

Tyber: Fair enough.

Tye paused.

Tyber: I plan on abandoning this facility once we get the injured out. Captain Frost is busy getting the injured prepared for transport. She will be helping them to the Warthogs, and shipping them out. We are going to use the underground evac highway to ship our injured out on Warthogs.

Nighthawk: After destroying the data in this facility?

Tyber: Altering it. We are going to corrupt the information house in this facility, provide false information, and generally lead The Covenant in the wrong direction. It might give us more breathing room.

Nighthawk: Good enough.

Nighthawk turned his head to look at Anaconda.

Nighthawk: Go and find a shady spot...do what you do best.

Anaconda grunted and nodded. He took off, engaging his active camo.

Tye watched the Brute walk off.

Tyber: Where is he going?

Nighthawk turned back to Tye.

Nighthawk: He's going on the prowl.

Tyber: Point taken...

Meanwhile:

Cameron watched Vhat' zig-zag from side to side, dodging the incoming missile fire. Cameron quickly altered his tactics.

Cameron dropped the missile pod to his side, and pulled out his Assault Rifle. He held the Assault Rifle in his right hand, as his left hand reach to his side for a grenade. Cameron pulled the pin on the grenade and tossed it right at Vhat's feet. Naturally, Vhat' moved out of the way, as Cameron expected him to.

Cameron was already prepared, as his Assault Rifle was already aimed almost at the exact spot that Vhat' was going to dodge towards. The moment that Vhat' had moved, Cameron pulled the trigger and opened fire on Vhat'...sending a flurry of bullets from the fully automatic fire of the Assault Rifle, right into Vhat's shielding. The bullets were quickly depleting Vhat's shielding. Vhat's shields would not hold up under so much fire for much longer without immediate action on Vhat's part.

Sergai engaged the enemy with Malren and his team, with a few other squads forming a ragtag "Company".

Sergai: Open fire! Heads shots people!

Sergai takes a deep breath as he begins to open fire taking down an Elite. When he looked to his left a Zealot attacks him. Sergai pulls out his magnum and shoots the Zealot in the face. When the zealot still coming at him he pulls out his knife and begins to stab him in all the pressure points till the zealot fell to the ground. Bluish blood was all over sergai.

Sergai: Keep firing!

Malren: What the hell does it look like!

Sergai: Just do it!, They got Zealots!

Vhat' armed two plasma grenades and tossed them just enough at Cameron. They were tossed enough to force Cameron to break his fire and dodge, the moment Vhat' needed to activate his active camo. Although his shields were sparking from being drained through the camo, the distraction gave Vhat' enough time to dash around the corner. He let his shields recharge.

Cameron reloaded his Assault Rifle. He looked around, scanning the immediate area for Vhat'...but The Elite was nowhere to be seen.

Cameron then turned his attention to the skies. He could see Phantom's bearing down on his position. He knew he was about to be overrun in this exposed position any second now.

Cameron contacted Tye.

Cameron: Tye...we have a problem. We have Elites landing on the roof. Dozens of them....at least several Phantoms right on top of me...with dozens more on the way. They could be dropping at least a hundred additional soldiers on the field. Orders?

Cameron awaited Tye's response.

Meanwhile:

Tye could hear the other Marines shouting from the outer Atrium of UNSC HQ Bravo as they were being over-run by Elites.

Marine: Fall back to the inner Atrium. Fall back!

Nighthawk heard this and shook his head.

Nighthawk: So much for holding this facility. The Elites are just walking all over these Marines.

Tyber: Most of these kids are green...this is the first time they have seen combat. Some of them are injured, tired, worn out...

Tye watched as a handful of Marines limped into the inner atrium, and took cover. Not but a moment after those Marines entered the inner Atrium, the Elites followed, and began to fire.

Tyber: Open fire! Gun these SOBs down!

Tye fired his SMG in short bursts, focusing his fire on the Elites providing supporting fire, as opposed to the ones on the front line.

Nighthawk drew his second Magnum, holding both of his sidearms in each hand. He emerged from cover, and took aim at the Elites in the front, pulling of precise headshots against their shielding.

The incendiary rounds from Nighthawk's Magnums proved to be highly effective against Covenant shielding, going so far as to burn away shielding in two or three shots, allowing for swift kills as a result of the headshots.

Tye watched as Nighthawk fired his Magnums off, picking off Covenant forces with relative ease. He took cover to reload.

Tyber: Gotta admit...I am pretty damn jelous of those guns of yours. You are just cutting through the shielding on these Elites.

Nighthawk: All it takes is a firm understanding of ballistics, energy shielding, and kinetic forces to know how to bring shielding down.

Nighthawk took cover.

Nighthawk: These Magnums are designed to fire specialized ballistic slugs that are designed to break through armor and other kinetic retardants such as energy shields. The slugs work on the same principle as those Brute firebombs, combined with the human engineering of hollow-point rounds. Upon impact...the slug will mushroom, which, in turn, releases the inner casing of the slug. At that point, the inner casing of the slug literally liquifies and ignites to a staggering 2200 degrees Celsius. In other words...any armor that does not break...melts instead.

Tyber: And with each successive hit...the armor becomes weaker and weaker because of the rapid temperature fluctuation. Pretty ingenious.

Nighthawk: Combined with the muzzel velocity of this Magnum...there is not very much that can stand up to the flaming .50 cal of death.

Tye reloaded his SMG.

Tyber: I wish we had munitions like that...

Tye drew his second SMG.

Tyber: I will weaken their shields...you take em down.

Both Tye and Nighthawk had, by this point, reloaded. They both emerged from cover, and laid down coordinated fire. Tye took aim at two seperate Elites with his SMGs and fired. Nighthawk followed up with precise headshots to the targeted Elites brining them down in single shots.

Tyber: Yeah! That;s how it's done!

Nighthawk had to laugh to himself. It was not often that he ever fought along side his brother in the field, no matter what uniform he was wearing. He took a sort of satisfaction from this experience.

Tye then heard his comm line activate, and he heard Cameron on the other side. Tye ducked back down into cover. Nighthawk remained standing, firing off his Magnums, keeping the Elites at bay.

Tye could hear Cameron over the comm line.

Cameron: Tye...we have a problem. We have Elites landing on the roof. Dozens of them....at least several Phantoms right on top of me...with dozens more on the way. They could be dropping at least a hundred additional soldiers on the field. Orders?

Tye paused for a moment.

Tyber: Cameron...confirm. Did you say Covenant forces are landing on the roof?

Cameron: Affirmative.

Nighthawk looked down. He ducked down again, and looked at Tye.

Nighthawk: Did you say The Covenant is also on the roof?

Tye looked at Nighthawk and nodded.

Cameron: Orders?

Tyber: Hold your position. Do not let those Elites gain access to the facility from the roof. Keep them busy up there.

Cameron: Understood.

Tye sighed.

Nighthawk: My Vulture is on the roof. I landed it up there. I can lose that ship!

Tyber: At the very least...having a gun-ship asset on our side is good. I agree that losing it would be bad. DO you think The Elites will target it?

Nighthawk: I don't know. The battle plating on that Vulture is typically better than what you find on the run-of-the-mill Vultures...but it is not invincible either.

Nighthawk pulled out his PDA. He used the uplink that HAWK was using to download the bases mainframe to access the security grid. From here, Nighthawk accessed the rooftop cameras.

Tye watched Nighthawk.

Tyber: How the hell did you access the internal camera system from a PDA?

Nighthawk: I'm Nighthawk...that's how...

Tyber: Naturally...

Nighthawk could see from the Camera feeds that the Vulture was docked on one of the further landing pads, and that the location of the Phantoms was on the opposing side of the roof. Neither Cameron, nor the Phantoms, nor the Elites who were jumping from The Phantoms were near Nighthawk's Vulture.

Nighthawk: It seems they are landing on the far side of the roof, in relation to my Vulture. It should be relatively safe...for now.

Tyber: For now. What if they start shooting at it?

Nighthawk thought for a moment. He then had an idea.

Nighthawk: Don't worry about my Vulture. For now...we have problems down here. One problem at a time Commander.

Meanwhile:

Kolya had made his way down to the cryo deck of The Ulterior Motive.

Upon walking in, the officers on the deck snapped to attention.

Cryo Engineer: Sir!

Kolya: Ensign...wake the Risk Takers up.

Cryo Engineer: Yes sir...

The Cryo Engineer began the re-animation sequence on the cryo pods that housed The Risk Takers. After a few moments, as the pods began to revive the Spartans inside, the pods opened, allowing the Spartans, who were coming to, to step out to receive their briefing.

Vhat', still adhering to what he believed was real Honor, allowed Cameron to radio. When he saw Cameron finish, he reactivated his camo, revealing himself. Instead of doing what a regular Elite would do and charge, he instead walked with swiftness in order to give him time to anticipate and dodge an attack.

Vhat' put his energy sword away and traded it for a plasma rifle. He fired several shots at Cameron allowing him to know that that their duel wasn't done yet.

Sergai: Lets go!

Sergai gave Malren the hand signal to spread out. When a Wraith came into view.

Duece: Let me deal with you!

Duece takes out his missile launcher, and loads it faster than he has ever knowing its taking aim. Duece puts the missile launcher on his shoulder and takes aim. Fires it at the turret blowing up the tank in a single shot. Then Ghost and Revenants showed up.

Duece: I don't have nuff missiles for that!

Sergai: Good kill, fire at the grunts!

Jacob acknowledged Tye's orders and remained downstairs. He looked around the area and grabbed a spare assault rifle, filling his ammo belt with some magazines. At that moment, he ran over to the end of the hallway and opened up the tunnel system, checking the other side for hostiles.

It was empty, but he had no idea if it would remain that way.

Jacob headed back, using the few minutes of quiet time to reflect on the battle and what had taken place only a short hour or two ago. He tried to shake the young marines out of his mind, tried to shake everything out and focus on saving the marines here...focus on saving what was left of this planet.

He had to focus, for the sake of others, and for his as well.

He arrived at the staircase leading down to him and noticed marines were heading in.

Marine: Captain, sir! We're being overrun...orders are to start moving wounded.

Jacob: Get to it marine! We've got warthogs all over the place. Anyone who can handle a weapon better grab some extra ammo while you're down here! Spread the word!

The marine nodded and within a few minutes, more and more marines began to arrive.

Meanwhile:

Harrison nodded at Reynolds.

Harrison: That may indeed work. And if we can give the Covenant a small distraction, I can send in a few teams to rearm the marines on the planet now...and to give them a little morale boost.

Harrison nodded.

Harrison: Send word to any and all ODST or marine squadrons on board the remaining ships. I want volunteers ready to head into a hot fight in twenty minutes. Once we have the people, we'll contact the ground teams, send the communication device to link up, and send the reinforcements.

Meanwhile back at Regional HQ Bravo:

Omega Legion wasn't letting up on the approaching Covenant forces. Within minutes a pile of alien bodies was forming and the line was holding.

That was until Troy noticed something out of the ordinary. A brute was approaching the area, the first he had seen all day. Troy quickly fired his battle rifle at the brute, trying to weaken his shields and eventually dropping him. However, his gun jammed and the brute was retreating.

But the brute fell to the ground, the head plastered against the wall.

Colby had managed to take the brute down with a shot from his DMR. That's when Troy yelled out to the marines in the area.

Troy: We've got brutes! Far right, back side!

Concurrently...on the Ulterior Motive:

Seven Spartans were waking up from the cryogenic pods they had been "sleeping" in for the last few days. They were groggy, some taking a few minutes to get out of the pod, regaining their senses.

One, however, immediately jumped out, stretched his arms and neck a little bit and then turned. A Spartan-II heading directly for Kolya and the engineers. The Spartan's armor was silver, a tint of green going down the legs and arms. The number 174 scratched onto the left breast of his armor and painted on the back of his helmet. The helmet with a pitch black visor, hid the face behind the countless burns, scratches, and marks on it. He immediately walked over to the weapons area and took a quick look around.

He stood straight, walking in a manner high above others. Given his seven foot stature, he had the right to do so. The Spartan grabbed a shotgun and a DMR, placing the shotgun on his back and holding the DMR in one hand. He walked over to Kolya, and his gestures as he approached Kolya were that of respect, he knew the chain of command and he was obedient.

The Spartan stood even straighter, saluted, and spoke a few words. His voice commanding, deep, and echoing throughout the room.

Spartan: Risk-Takers. Reporting for duty, sir.

By this time, the other six Spartans had stepped out and made their way to the weapons as well.

One of them, a woman, in completely maroon armor, another Spartan-II. Just a few inches shorter than the male Spartans, but with just as much command in her steps. She grabbed an assault rifle and a magnum and waited for the others.

The third, another woman, in silver armor with a gold tint, a Spartan-II again grabbed a rocket launcher and a magnum and took a position in front of the first female Spartan, lining up for a role call.

The fourth, a man and the final Spartan-II of the group, was bearing brown armor with a tint of white. He grabbed an assault rifle and a magnum and stood next to the third Spartan.

The fifth Spartan, another man, but at least half a foot shorter than the rest. A Spartan-III by the looks of him had grabbed a sniper and a magnum and had taken his position with the others. The dark green of his armor reflecting the little light he had within.

The sixth Spartan, a woman, a Spartan-III, and in very nice salmon color, had grabbed a shotgun and a magnum and joined the others.

The final Spartan, the tallest of the Spartan-III's, bearing the darkest color, black was standing in front of the weapons. It looked as though he was still deciding until the woman in front of the others yelled something at him. He grabbed a magnum and put it on his thigh and then grabbed the flamethrower, walking over to the others with the flamethrower in his left hand. He took his position and waited.

Kolya looked at The Spartan, clad in Silver armor, standing in front of him.

Kolya paused for a moment, he watched all of the Spartans come to, and ready themselves.

Kolya: Spartans...there is only one, and I mean ONE, reason why I am standing here at this very moment. There is only one reason we have ended your cryogenic cycle prematurely. I trust you should all be aware of what that reason is WITHOUT me providing you any other information.

Meanwhile:

Burke nodded, to affirm Harrison's course of action.

Burke: Understood sir. I will see what I can scrap together. The King Raven has only deployed a minority of it's effective ground platoons, so I should be able to get you quite a number of volunteers. If you so desire, I can send them your way.
