Westboro church fro topeka kansas needs to burn to the ground. They are picketting the Sandy Cook Elementary Schools, with signs that state god hates fags, and glad it happened.... they have utterly inticed me to extreme rage for thier actions. I have friends who came home from Afghanistan, and Iraq and they were there with signs saying God loves IEDs, and God hates you American Soldiers, and my friend who lost a brother as they call their squadmates in Iraq, and he wanted to the kill them. When I found out they are picketting the funerals, I'm thinking they need to die, they have no respect for the sorrow the families are experiencing today, 18 children between the ages 5 and 10 are dead, and their families have bought them christmas presents, bought them and packaged them up under the christmas tree and now their childrens funeral is being picketed. They are terrorist, psychological terrorist, and In america terrorist die!

Erex, I'm not defending them but your statement is very misguided and very close-minded. There's a reason why they are still functional. In America, everyone has the right to an opinion and under the first amendment, they have the right to petition and assembly, regardless of the nature, so long as it's non-violent. Personally, your close-minded bias ignorance angers me. But I will not point fingers.

Why does it matter? Westboro Baptist Church has the RIGHT to gather and petition. It's not illegal and it's not legally wrong. To some it is morally wrong, however, I am not letting personal prejudice and bias blind the objectivity of the argument

Morally wrong, and by calling me bias and predijuced is defending westboro, they have no right to picket a child's funeral. Their parents are grieving and Westboro has signs that say glad it happened, I could care less if you think Biased, cause I am, when it involves westboro and I am proud to hate them for what they do to funerals, descrating graves, showing dishonor, when our Men and women come home from war, they picket them, calling them murderers, no war is honorable, you Kairu, are defending Westboro.

They have a right, but they don't have the right to cause more grief to the families. Please lock before I get more pissed off.

The right to freedom of speech ends at hate speech. While I do agree people have the right to gather and protest, they do not have the right to spew hate speech. Holding up signs that spreads hate is not a protected freedom. Nobody has the right to use freedom of speech as a weapon to attack anyone. Kairu, you are incorrect in your assumption to think they can say whatever they want. They don't have that right. Nobody has that right. People have a right to share their views and thoughts, to vote how they want, to constructivly criticize, but people also have the right to live free from hatred, oppression, and tyrany. As a result, there is no right to spread hatred and hate speech. When we are angered by hate speech, we fulfill our moral obligations to what is good and just in our society. If the WBC's actions are not just, then they do not have any right what so ever to their "speech"

Well from their point of view, it's their religious point of view. Last I knew, once it involves religion, it's suddenly off-limits.
