Folee glared at Limos.
Folee: No! Fuck that, he couldn't have defected!
Carmicle: Agent, calm down!
Folee: I won't fucking calm down. That man devoted his entire life to ONI and the UNSC...why defect...how long had he been planning that! Bullshit!
Limos was talking to Harrison who had just been informed of Hayes' order over the comms.
Limos: You're on team wide chat, Admiral.
Everyone listened up.
Harrison: Agents...Operatives...due to the circumstances at hand, orders have been given that you are to shoot to kill any member of ODST Black Team. No quarter given...I repeat...shoot to kill.
Folee: Admiral...it ca--
Harrison: If it isn't him..and you manage to kill him, then alas, you ended the rumor. Yet if it is him...and you do indeed kill him, you have ended the onslaught he may cause, the onslaught he is causing. The message is being relayed to all ground teams...shoot to kill.
Folee sighed.
Folee: Aye, aye, Admiral.
Harrison: Black Team was after something here...follow them and stop their progress at all costs. Task Force 117, as well as all other ground forces are engaged with Trust military forces. The eight of you are the only chance we have.
Carmicle: Five, Admiral. Whiskey and Tango have been hit...one of us has to stay behind to keep them up.
Harrison sighed.
Harrison: Five it is...once TF117 gets a break I will try and direct them to you. Good luck Agents. Harrison out.
The communication link cut and the room was left silent.
Colby finally spoke after a slight silence and cocked his shotgun.
Colby: You heard the Admiral...let's get moving.
The group had obviously been struck by the news, Folee was pissed. MacLaren and Limos were upset, Carmicle was angry and upset. Yet, Colby was one of the ones to remain calm and leave emotions out of it.
Colby: Let's go guys. Whose staying behind?
Meanwhile:
Harrison stepped backwards from the computer and he sat in his command chair.
Harrison: Have you notified ground teams?
Shadow: Yes, sir.
Harrison nodded, he rubbed his forward.
Harrison: Defection...Jacob Sharpmen defected...that is not the Jacob I remember. Nor is it the Jacob I know...he would never do something like that.
Harrison looked at the image displayed on the monitor in front of him, it was one of Black 5.
Harrison: Yet...there he is.
Harrison shook his head.
Harrison: Why Jacob...just why?
Meanwhile:
Lisa was in hangar bay 2, another platoon of elites and brutes landed and she sent them into the facility. After a few more minutes, Lisa decided it was her time for her team to move in.
Lisa: Alright boys...let's go.
Lisa was carrying a battle rifle and socom with her. She was leading a squad of nine Trust marines into the facility. Lisa moved forward, hearing the sounds of brutes and elites, she figured they would have a good ten minutes before they ran into resistance.
Meanwhile:
Black 5 moved forward, reloading all of his weapons and checking his guns. He heard the comment about Gamma wing and his curiosity got the better of him.
Black 5: Oh, we are definitely checking out Gamma wing.
Black 5 moved forward, trying to shake the fact that he had just fought Stolt. To be honest, the whole situation had felt rather familiar. Back when he was with ONI...back when he fought Nighthawk and Anaconda.
Back when he fought his commanding officer.
But that was entirely different, wasn't it? He was fighting a terrorist...rather his CO disguised as a terrorist. He was fighting for ONI...and he wasn't being used as a puppet because his CO was the terrorist. Black 5 shook his head.
It was different...because back then he was still fighting for something he believed in. Yet over time, all that manipulation, all the secrets, everything...it pushed him to where just a simple drug and 24 hours of "persuasion" turned him to the Trust.
Well, turned part of him to the Trust. He wasn't entirely there. There was still a part of him, on the inside, withholding all this information he knew. Withholding weapon designs, facilities, and even ship designs from the Trust.
There was still a part of him that couldn't...no, that wouldn't tell the Trust about Nighthawk.
There was a still part of him that wouldn't reveal Vernette's secret....that was still fighting the blackness that surrounded him.
