Fallout RPG Reboot

So I've been playing Fallout 3 a lot lately. And I've been heavily reminiscing on the memories and awesomeness that was the FO3RPG. I'm ok with picking up where the RPG left off, or scrapping it completely and trying a different approach. Any ideas or takers on this?

I would be down for a reboot. We could do something with Nee Vegas as well.

Hmm, perhaps one with New Vegas? (Despite that I like FO3 more.) With New Vegas, there's a little more freedom to affiliate with more factions. But I dunno, there's more nostalgia with FO3. Plus, looking back, I like where the first RPG was going. There were very good characters. Any ideas for a story premise?

I'd like to join in but I know nothing of Fallout 3, I just know its a aftermath type game.

One thing I like a LOT about New Vegas, is how it manages to feel like Fallout 2.5, what with the NCR, and it's intelligent Super mutants So while we're just throwing things out on the cutting room floor, what if I made an NCR trooper, from the west, who basically drives all the way to DC in some refurbished nuclear powered jalopy, to establish some sort of base (That never comes into fruition). Perhaps his jalopy breaks down, or gets stolen, and he has to find it. And his arc sort of intermixes with other people's

That could work. And the idea of personal vehicles aren't strange or foreign to the Fallout Universe. Fallout Tactics opens up with an armored jeep driving to Chicago Wasteland. But the one thing I'd question is what happened to the rest of his crew. Unless he was a scout, I wouldn't think one "semi-decent" NCR trooper would be sent to find a base on the east coast. Outside of that, I do like the idea. Or it could even be an established base, perhaps set up in the old SATCOM satellite buildings in the Northwestern Capital Wasteland?

Maybe. Whatever works for integrating the NCR.

Perhaps we could say that New Vegas happened a year before FO3, and the NCR triumphed over Caesar's Legion. The Legion was pushed back to the rest of the Utah/Colorado (I think that's where they originated) and the NCR continued to expand continuing it's competition with the Brotherhood of Steel. In turn, due to common enemies, they have a makeshift alliance (or so to be) with the Enclave. And later on finding out about the Enclave's darker methods, separates itself from the Enclave causing a war of three major factions? Just a starting idea :P

While I do like the idea of integrating the NCR with the west, I would like to keep the RPG canon. So we could have the RPG set after FO3 and The First Battle of Hoover Dam. This way we are not affecting the game until FNV begins. This would be year 2278-2279. We could incorporate your idea. NCR nd the Enclave. The BoS. All that. But in my opinion. It's be more canon.

You mean NCR in the east, right? Cuz they're from what would be California. :P But then again, we could easily set it ahead a little farther and scrap "keeping it canon" all together :P That way we avoid using NPCs and "famous characters". In addition, it wouldn't be uncommon for the NCR or Legion to expand in a few years after FNV. The thing that makes it tricky is that there is no real "canon". It's not said whether the Lone Wanderer or Courier were good karma or bad karma. It's assumed they're good and that they sided with the Brotherhood and the NCR, respectively. But if you want to be technical, the only thing established as canon is backstory :P That's it, but it is good that we're throwing all ideas out into the open. If we stick to canon, would we want to switch over to FNV instead of FO3?
