Ryan and his fireteam received orders for some minimal road improvements in the more undeveloped areas of the colony. They mounted in a Warthog with a passenger cage and drove off. When they reached the outskirts of the city, Iceman, who was riding shotgun, reached over and turned to the Warthog radio and flipped it on. The song Iceman put up was tame at first. However, after the first few drum strikes, the song blast into a full rock song.
Micheal clenched his ears, "Jesus! Turn that shit off!"
Iceman looked at Ryan, questioningly. Ryan grunted, "I like this song too, so too bad."
After several minutes, they arrived at their target destination. A small river separated two clearings in the forest where pathes would be made. The fireteam dismounted and gathered at the river's edge. Ryan scanned the river, then pulled out range finder. The river was slightly less than 50 meters in width; Ryan noted that to his team.
"Alright here's the plan," Ryan said loudly to get his team's attention, "Stopper and I are going to go prep the area for terraforming and for this bridge. Iceman, Mike. You guys head back to base and get the bridge layer."
Micheal raised his hand, "Uh, can someone else-"
"Nope."
"I hate you Dusk."
Iceman played an even louder sound, much to Micheal's dismay, on the way back to the base. Several birds were scared off from the heavy guitar riffs. Stopper looked to Ryan. "You know, I don't see what's wrong with rock."
Ryan chuckled, "Mike's just an oddball."
The two engineers began laying explosives on trees to clear a path for the road and bridge. Stopper attached the explosives to the base of the trees while Ryan strung them together. After falling to a safe position, Ryan detonated the explosives, and 7 trees fell on their sides.
Ryan motioned toward the fallen trees. "Okay, now, grab the rope, and let's get these tree's out of the way."
