The King Raven
The King Raven is a Halcyon Cruiser that was under the command of Fleet Admiral Preston J. Vernette, prior to it's destruction in 2552. The King Raven was a standard variation of the Halcyon class, with exception to the added Weapons Research Lab and the Cybernetics Lab, installed at the request of Fleet Admiral Vernette. The King Raven served in many engagements in the war, proving to be the longest serving ship in UNSC history. It was destroyed by The Covenant during the First Battle of Earth. The ship was destroyed with a loss of a limited portion of the crew. Vernette considered this his favorite ship, claiming to be like the first time you fall in love. In spite of the fact that the Cloak and Dagger is better in every measurable sense, Vernette still misses the King Raven, so much so that he personally retired the name from active ONI service.

Design and Construction
The King Raven was built and completed at the New Harmony Shipyards in 2525. The King Raven was built using the 191cm Titanium-A Battle Plate. It was the first halcyon class ship that was re-armored with up to 300 Archer Missile Pods. The design of the King Raven proved to be the standard for which Halcyon class cruisers were to meet..

Director Vernette's Personal Notes
The King Raven was the first battleship I had ever commanded. She was the best. In every way, the Cloak and Dagger is better than the King Raven...but...you can say that the King Raven was my first real battleship. The first mission I took her on was in 2520 when I engaged the Trust. Even when she was outnumbered 3 to 1...the King Raven pulled through. THis was an amazing ship. Everything great that I have done in my career, most of it was done because of the King Raven. When I lost her in 2552...I couldn't believe it. I swore I would make those Covenant sons a' bitches for destroying my ship. Believe me...I made them pay
A ship like the King Raven...is too great to let pass into the void of obscurity and destroyed ships. ONI will see to it that the King Raven flies again. I made sure that they would see to it. My only regret is that she won't be mine to command. No...that privlage is reserved for someone else. I envy that person. That ship...carries a great legacy...
