HEADS UP EVERYONE.
Dead Money
Dead Money was the first DLC of Fallout: New Vegas. In my opinion...it outright...stunk. I mean, sure, it's a different twist and it definitely brought something new to the table, but...Besthesda did not do a very good job of creating this DLC.
First thing's first...you travel to Sierra Madre by getting drugged and getting all of your stuff stolen from you. Personally, having to start up from nothing again and being almost level 30...it was annoying. And from there, things just got worse.
The whole plot is that Sierra Madre was to be one of the greatest casino's of the Pre-War Land. The Galla Event was set to happen on October 20th, 2077; only thing is...the bomb's dropped first and the Sierra Madre was sealed, forever lost in history. The only thing that came out was legends of the "greatest treasure known to man" and stories have it...the city is covered in a "red cloud." And here we have, the Mysterious Father Elijah, who disappeared after the Battle of Helios One, well, you find him...and he has taken you captive. You're mission...find the three other captives and bring them together at the fountain.
And that's what he leaves you with...you get three quests...to start moving and find the three other captives, where you have to traverse through crazy Ghost People, traps, and radio frequencies...Oh, did I forget to mention, you have a bomb collar strapped to your neck the whole time? Yeah, that sucked.
At this moment, I was just bored with the story...I had no clue what was happening and it royally pissed me off. So, at this point, I took like...fourteen hour gameplay break..which was over the course of about two weeks because I didn't play often. When I came back, I decided to try and get back into it.
Now, I don't want to spoil anything but from here..it just gets confusing, hard, and just plain repetitive. The game brought one new thing to the table...and that was it brought Treasure Hunting. Yeah, a few new guns, and outfits, but they were nothing. I hated the guns, and the only outfit I liked was the Reinforced Armor, which didn't give anything special.
Another thing to say is that...if you don't have skills higher than 80 in Barter, Speech, Lockpick, or Science, you might as well not even play the DLC. See, I like to balance out the ratio between my skills, so...dumping them all into one slot, just doesn't do it for me. So, my skills were high, but not high enough for most of it.
AND MY FINAL GRIPE. THE ONE THING I HATED MOST ABOUT THIS GAME. The "Greatest treasure to man" is like...impossible to get. (I understand Jon got it...but I didn't have a stealthboy..so I couldn't). I literally tried a dozen times to get all the treasure...using glitchs, and everything, NEVER WORKED. I managed to get away with THREE Gold Bars...out of THIRTY-SEVEN. You know what, Dead Money, F YOU. This DLC pissed me off, it was confusing, repetitive, and you couldn't even do everything you wanted to.
