I took a crap load of pictures from my trip to The Flagship Diefenbunker, known as The Diefenbunker. Diefenbunkers were classified nuclear fallout shelters constructed during the cold war. There were many Diefenbunkers in Canada, but The Diefenbunker, the bunker reserved for the Prime Minister of Canada, and the Bank of Canada emergency vault was the one I went to. Anyone who has played fallout New Vegas will immediately think Sierra Madre. THis is exactly the case. There was a massive bank vault at the bottom of The Diefenbunker (empty...unfortunately) Here are some pictures I took. The pictures appear in the order I saw them. A disarmed Nuclear Bomb inside the main lobby of the bunker. Yeah...we had the bomb... The entrance tunnel of the Diefenbunker. Popular in the 60's...and very lethal...but people didn't know that. All this stuff is obviously decommissioned. A picture of John Diefenbaker...the Canadian PM during the cold war. He commissioned the secret bunkers to be built. Opposition parties in Government nick-named them Diefenbunkers. They quickly adopted this name. The Prime Minister's Bed...I decided to lie down on it. Some rank looking showers... Bathroom propaganda... More bathroom propaganda... News article on bomb shelters. Bank of Canada Vault. This is a mini vault, outside the major vault. Used to store small items, like money plates and such. Vault Door to the big vault. Most of the Gold Bullion owned by the bank of Canada was stored in here. It has since been emptied. Pieces of brick from Nagasaki. I dunno why this was here, but it was. Some sign...it has a bunch of wars and shit listed on it. I hope you guys enjoyed this.

Yep. The Diefenbunker is in the town beside me. I live actually pretty close to it. Like...a 20 minute drive.
