J-2-Alpha is the current moniker for the current seat of Government for the Office of Naval Intelligence, as of 2555. THe planet has no official name, as one has not been decided on, however, many people are not opposed to the name J-2-Alpha.

Early History
The Planet was found in 2537 when a slipsapce miscalculation sent an unmanned ONI Reconniscence craft off course. The craft dropped out of Slipspace close enough to the planet to be pulled into orbit, and as such, crashed on the planet surface. Prior to the destruction of the craft, the craft transmitted the location of J-2-Alpha back to Section 0. Section 0 was excited to find a very remote planet in a currently unmapped part of the Orion Arm, beyond Covenant reach. Plans were immediatly put in place to begin a highly classified colinization of the planet. Select people in the ONI Intelligence community were sent to establish a base, along with a sum of civilians to establish a colony.
Human-Covenant War
This planet was not touched during the Human-Covenant War. This planet is where the UNSC Designed the Stealth Systems for the Cloak and Dagger.
Post-Covenant Status
With J-2-Alpha being the only UNSC stronghold left after the invasion of Earth by the Elites and Brutes in 2553, all operation command was transfered to J-2-Alpha. It was here that Director Vernette took full control of the military, reformed the Government, and began full implementation of ONI Technology to the entire military.

J-2-Alpha is very much like Earth in terms of its ecosystem.
Population
Before 2553, J-2-Alpha has a population of 250 000 people. As of 2555, due to evacuation of Earth, both prior to the fall of Earth, and the reclimation of Earth, and the growing population, the current number stands at 19.6 Million. The Office of Naval Intelligence has secretly been drugging the food and water supplies with fertility drugs to further bolster the population explosion. As a result, 15% of births result in twins or triplets, with large families highly encouraged by ONI.

This is the largest planet I have ever seen. It is perfect in every way...this must have been the Garden of Edan. The planet is compose of a lot of small land masses with water seperating them all The climate on this planet is as diverse as Earth's and the ambiance is just as nice. With the loss of Earth, J-2-Alpha quickly became our new home and our prized jewel. This planet has a diverse array of life as well...completly untouched by human hands. There are three major cities on J-2-Alpha, all of them thriving and prospering. I will say this...I will die to protect this world...
