The Gladiator program relies on organic drugs and combat exoskeleton modifications to increase combat effectiveness. Generally speaking, a successful Gladiator augment will be 2 to 3 times stronger then a standard Elite. Gladiators are able to run faster, jump higher, and generally sustain more damage to their body before dying. The equipment of a Gladiator does not differe much from what a normal Elite utilizes. However, the major differences sppear to be how much armor the GLadiator wears. The helmet of a Gladiator is equipped with several modes including Nightvision, thermal vision, and infrared vision. The armor has a cloaking and shield system built in. Additionally, the suit is pressure sealed to allow for Zero-G activity.

The suit itself can increase an Elites strength up to three times, allowing them to surpass a Spartan in terms of strength. The shield systems on the armor are super charged. ONI intelligence suggest the armor is strong enough to withstand up to 3 direct shots of a Guass Cannon. Furthermore, when the armor is in Lockdown mode, the Gladiator is able to survive a direct MAC blast. The Gladiator suits are equipped with Shield Overdrive systems which allow shields, for a short time to overclock, allowing for increased shield protection, but prolonged ue of this mode will burn out the shield emitters. Unlock Lockdown, which immobilizes the user, Shield Overdrive allows for the user to remain mobile, but can also cause physical damage to the armor components. The Gladiator armor is fully sealed, allowing the user to walk into vacuums, like space, and survive. They are temperature controlled, and very durable. ONI has been unable to determine what the suits are made of. Gladiators are still capable of piloting all Covenant vehicles, but with even deadlier precision and skill. The weapon systems of these suits is equally impressive, for the Elites anyways. Both arms are equipped with retractable energy daggers, built right into the suit. The helmet is capable of several modes of detection. ONI has observed that Gladiators are able to detect cloaked soldiers, with relative ease. As far as ONI knows...this armor has no weakness. Conventional ONI weapons seem to have no effect on Gladiators, while high yield weaponsprove very ineffective. Gladiators are VERY rare...for now. THis is ONI's one saving grace.
