If you question them, its heresy. If you look at them wrong, its heresy. These guys apparently ran the Covenant without question. Everything they said was reguarded as holy and unquestionable. Now, for all we know, they are in hiding for fear of their lives. Generally speaking, Prophets are very fragile and very slow moving. They are by no means suited for direct combat. However, they are very intelligent, which makes the very good candidates for ship masters and naval operators.
