Starcraft 2 is an Real-Time Strategy(RTS) game produced by Blizzard Entertainment. After several years of the first installment, the long awaited Starcraft 2 now has a release date on July 27th of 2010. The Beta is currently out to those who pre-order Starcraft 2.
The story picks off where Starcraft: Brood War left off four years ago. Other than that, not much is known about what is in store for us in the campaign mode.
Looking at gameplay, there's a vast improvement from Starcraft into Starcraft 2. In starcraft it is much easier to control your units. This include queuing buildings for construction, and control much more than 12 units at a time (actually you can control 400 units at a time if you'd like) Other components include scout towers, high yield resources, and just plain big fucking weapons all of which adds to the list of many strategies you can go about committing to. Will you bunker inside your base while building a fleet of Battlecrusiers or will your rush and harass you opponent's economy? The possibilities are endless.
Another component of Starcraft 2 was the multiplayer search engine. In Starcraft 1, you had to look down a droning list of games. In starcraft 2, a matching engine will match you to players with similar skills as yours. Just select you preferences and click search.
Starcraft 2 looks like a good game that will certainly rival Halo:Reach (people apparently think this is a good game. But they still like it so whatever) and will easily outdo it predecessor in just about every way.
However, it is an RTS. Comparining it to a FPS is kinda hard.
Obviously I think Reach sucks ass...and that SC2 IS IN FACT better then Reach...I am just saying for fairness that you cannot really compare an RTS and a FPS.
