Yates: Going to any length is not the same as doing anything. When someone goes to any length to do something, they simply work hard at it, or invest more than the typical amount of work to accomplish their goals.
Yates paused.
Yates: Doing anything means no holds barred. There is nothing off limits. There is no action too imoral, no compromise too steep...no deatn toll too high.
Yates paused.
Yates: I stress the phrase "no death toll too high". We need officers who will do anything...not ones who go to any length. Going to any length does not cut it. We need to know now Captain...because your orders will involve the "no death toll too high" portion of our job.
Meanwhile:
Jennifer turned her head when she saw Sergai and Havoc' squad's Warthog pull up. Jennifer listened to the two groups converse. She had to grin and shake her head, as she looked at the dashboard of the Warthog.
Jennifer: You know...if you guys are going to talk out loud about how much you don't trust the driver of the vehicle that I am in, then don't complain when he let's road rage get the best of him, and he decides to turn this convoy into a very dangerous game of bumper cars.
Jennifer shrugged She simply folded her arms and continued to look at the dashboard of the Warthog.
Jennifer: This Monster Hog has some pretty big tires...and just sitting here I can feel the weight of this thing.
Meanwhile:
Tye and Cameron had left the Spaceport Terminal, and they were headed towards a Warthog that had been waiting for them. As they walked towards the Warthog, they conversed with each other.
Tyber: So...Cam...I heard that you crept behind enemy lines and took out a bunch of Elite Spec-Ops?
Cameron: Correct.
Tyber: Pretty ballsy.
Cameron: It is actually my job Tye. I don't expect accolades for doing my job.
Tyber: Well, that makes sense. Too many hotshots out there expect medals and accolades for just doing their jobs. I have to respect your conservative attitude in that respect.
Tye jumped into the driver seat of the Warthog that was waiting for him. Cameron jumped into the back, and mounted the Guass Turret. Tye started the engine, and he pulled the Warthog around, and headed for the COnvoy that was waiting.
Tyber: Cameron...can I ask a serious question?
Cameron: Of course.
Tyber: As a Spartan...do you ever get the feeling that the only reason that you are as deadly as you are, is because of what ONI did? What I mean is...do you ever feel like your accomplishments and your service is somehow tainted by the fact that you are...augmented?
Cameron shook his head.
Cameron: Not for an instance. The only reason that is, is because I aim for accomplishments, and a level of service, that meets or exceeds what I am capable of at peak. I feel that if I strive for what normal soldiers strive for...then yeah...it is pretty tainted. However...as long as I keep my goals above my peak level of performance...I'm fine with it. Why do you ask?
Tyber: Just curious...nothing more.
Cameron: Are you sure?
Tyber: Yeah...I am sure. Forget I asked. Never mind.
Cameron: Alright...
Cameron was not fully convinced that there was not a specific reason for Tye's questions. However, despite this, Cameron kept his mind focused on the mission. He kept silent as the Warthog pulled up to the convoy, and waited.
