Just as Tye stepped out from the cover of the holding cell, he had to step back as he was being fired at.
Cameron had jumped into the adjacent holding cell to avoid the plasma fire, his shields taking several hits, but ultimatly, not lowering them.
Cam look across the hallway at Tye.
Cameron: You called it...Spec-Ops!
Tye sighed.
Tyber: Frag em!
Tye holstered his Automag, and reached onto his belt and grabbed a Frag Grenade. Tye decided to set Cochraine back down on the ground in order to help Cameron clear the area.
Cameron also readied a Frag Grenade. He waited for a signal from Tye to arm the grenades, and throw them. However, Tye issued a different order, to instead, roll the grenades on the ground, down the corridor, at the Elites. Cameron understood the order.
They both peaked out the corners of the holding cells they had taken cover in, and they rolled their Frag Grenades down the corridor, placing them very close to the feet of their attackers. Both of the grenades exploded, killing both of the Elites with Plasma Rifles.
Tyber: Nice!
Cameron: Don't celebrate yet...these guys typically operate in groups of 4 to 6. There could be, at least, another 4 somewhere around here.
Tyber: Switch to thermal!
Both Tye and Cameron switched to Thermal imaging. They both took a peak around the corner, and they managed to spot the camo'ed Elites.
Tyber: Three contacts...12 o'clock. Live fire!
Cameron nodded.
Tye drew both of his SMGs, and looked at Cochraine.
Tyber: Ma'am...wait here...don't crawl off anywhere.
Tye and Cameron both emerged from their respective cover, and moved forward. Tye laid down fire on the entire corridor, weakening the shields of the three Elites. Cameron, on the other hand, waited until Tye stopped firing. When Tye had ceased his firing, he began to walk forward. He saw the three Elites running down the corridor, ready to engage.
The first Spec-Op Elite jumped at Cameron, and swung his blade horizontally. However, Cameron ducked, and rolled out of the way. While on his knees, Cameron raised his shotgun, and shot the first Spec-Op Elite in the side, causing the Spec-Op Elite to stumble to the side. Cameron fired again, kill the Spec-Op Elite.
Cameron got back to his feet, as Tye reloaded. He noticed one of the Spec-Op Elites charge at him, while the other charged at Cameron. The Spec-Op Elite that was charging at Tye was moving at full speed.
Tye took aim with both of his SMGs and fired in full auto, not letting go of the triggers for even a split second. He got through about 75% of his clip before the Elite was close enough to take a swing. Tye ducked,, but the Elite thrusted his hoof forward and kicked Tye back down the corrdior, back in the direction from which Tye advanced from after saving Cochraine. Tye flew threw the air, and landed on the ground, sliding on the ground. As he slid, he took aim at the Spec-Op Elite and continued firing. It did not take long for Tye to run empty. He had to quickly get back to his feet. As he did, he saw the Spec-Op Elite charging once more. Tye threw both of his SMGs at the Elite, both of the guns spinning through the air, hitting the Spec-Op Elite in the face. The Elite stumbled for a moment, stopping in his tracks. This gave Tye the time he needed to draw his two Automags. He fired as fast as he could, the combined 24 bullets hitting the Elite, draining his shields, and killing him with a single head shot.
Tye began to reload his Automags.
Concurrently, Cameron had engaged the last Spec-Op Elite. Cameron, being a Spartan II, and having a superior close quarter weapon, had little difficulty in stopping this Elite. Cameron discharged his shotgun at optimum range, the buckshot impacting the Spec-Op Elite's shields point blank. Camoern's second tore the Spec-Op Elite apart, as his hit the Spec-Op Elite right in the chest, killing him instantly.
Tye had managed to reload his Automags, holster them, and recover his SMGs. He was in the process of reloading his SMGs as he spoke to Cameron.
Tyber: You make it look so easy.
Cameron: Making things easier is my job Tye.
Tyber: True that...no argument here. Good job Cam.
Tye holstered his SMGs at his side, and went back to Cochraine. He helped her back to her feet.
Tyber: Alright Ma'am...we are clear. Our evac is en-route and we will be outta this mess in no time. Don't worry...we are almost out of this.
Tye looked at Cameron. Before Tye could say anything, Cameron spoke up.
Cameron: Let me guess..."Cameron...take point"...
Tye nodded.
