[Hells Sniper]

Harrison watched as the fleet began to move in on the Covenant. The Covenant didn't expect such a strong reaction from the weakened Covenant fleet, and their cruisers weren't prepared for the attack. By the time they could react, their support cruisers had already lost their shields, along with the major assault carriers. Harrison: Signal the other task forces to break off, focus on the corvettes and escorts. Harrison stood straight. Harrison: Arm Shiva pods one through three, fire at the escorts guarding the main cruisers. On my mark... Harrison waited til the cruisers guarding their major targets were in defensive positions. They were lined up in front of the three major targets. Harrison smiled. Perfect. Harrison: Mark. Fire the nukes. With that, the Vigorous Inferno fired off three nukes at the main group of escorts. The combined fire from Captain Reynolds and Captain Burke caused the shields of the escorts to fail. The nukes did the rest, as the widespread zone of destruction from all three engulfed almost all the escorts of the three major cruisers. The escort ships in the middle were completely destroyed from the fight, and the ones on the outlying area began to lose power from the other ships attacks. Harrison hit the button for the Eclipse Task Force, the one he was leading. Harrison: Raging Elephant, Saint's Society, form up on our starboard and port side. Captain Reynolds, Captain Burke, zone is hot, move in, drop your soldiers and clear the area. Harrison turned to his helmsman. Harrison: Take us LT. The helmsman nodded and corrected the heading for the Vigorous Inferno. They moved into the hole that the Shiva nuclear weapons had cleared, followed by the Mind's Attrition and the King Raven. The Saint's Society and Raging Elephant formed on their left and right, as they provided covering fire. Harrison: Murphy, arm our point defense guns! If anything gets too close, blow it out of the sky! Harrison paused. He brought up the holomap of the rest of the fleet. The two main battle groups were punching holes all over the place, with their escorts taking down anything that got too close. The other battle groups were just causing widespread havoc and alarm to the rest of the Covenant fleet. They had managed to bring down several cruisers and escorts, before they were even hit by Covenant fire. Harrison knew the plan wouldn't last long, he would eventually have to pull the fleet back to their safe zone. He hoped that he could get his men on board and lighten the pressure on the ground. Harrison: Once we're in position with the Mind's Attrition and King Raven, give the green light. I want all teams dropped as soon as possible. Have security teams standing by for any possible recursion by the Covenant. Harrison only hoped the fleet could hold on. Meanwhile: Dangerus knew his brutes were getting itchy, they wanted a fight. He would ultimately have to oblige. He turned to his packmates and bodyguards. Dangerus: Begin the attack...grunts and jackals first. Meanwhile at the spaceport: Jacob nodded, he grabbed the assault rifle and slid it around his shoulder for safe keeping. Jacob: We're all distracted Tye... Jacob began as he picked up the sniper rifle on the ground and began to check it for inconsistency. Jacob: We all have other things on our minds...other people, other soldiers, family. Jacob pulled back the stock on his sniper and slid the first round into the chamber, he turned to Tye. Jacob: But we all know what needs to be done, too. You know it more than anyone...and I have full faith in you...take that as you may, but I am here, Tye. We are still fighting. Jacob paused and approached the crate Tye was standing on. Jacob: If there's one thing I learned...distractions are sometimes Godsends. They can take away from what you should be thinking about, but in the end, we're all trying to distract ourselves from this. Jacob shrugged. Jacob: I just use them to my advantage...focus on what life was before the Covenant. Focus on what you want. Jacob looked around, he saw several marines scrambling around trying to grab gear and weapons. He looked at Tye and lightly punched him in the shoulder. Jacob: Now...we have a spaceport to defend. Shall we go?

[Naked Crook]

Tyber: Yeah...let's do it... Tye readied his SMG, holstered it, and then followed Jacob. Tye didn't say anything...but one thing that Jacob said really bothered him. Tyber: Focus on life before The Covenant? The Covenant was a God damn improvement to what life was like BEFORE. At least I now have real enemies to sink bullets in to. Tye left the armory with Jacob, as he did, he began to speak. Tyber: I guess you are going to go and find a perch to sit on and snipe?

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob looked at Tye. He knew he was still clearly bothered as he continued to walk. Jacob: I am going to find a position out there...on the front lines. I will be right there with the action. Jacob paused. Jacob: Tye... Jacob looked forward, he could see several marines running past and heading to the front lines. Jacob: You are a great leader...one of the best one's I've had the privilege to serve under. As long as you are out there fighting, the men will continue on. Jacob shrugged. Jacob: Take that as a distraction today...and go kill some Covenant bastards. Jacob nodded and patted Tye on the back. Jacob: I'll see you on the other side...

[Kairu]

Reynolds listened to the fleet chatter and watched the holotable. The main window on the bridge showed the carnage of the Covenant fleet. When Harrison's voice ordered for the drop to begin, Reynolds wasted no time. Reynolds: "Helm, take us in! Half-speed." The Mind's Attrition continued forward now making its run at the designated target, a Covenant Assault Carrier. Reynolds pressed a button on the holotable and his voice echoed the ODST launch bays. Reynolds: "Prepare for ODST drop. Zone is hot! Your target is the CAS Clarity of Absolution. Fireteams Viper and Zanzibar, move in to take out and disable their life support systems and then proceed to sabotage their engines. Fireteams Hawk and Harmony, you will be assigned to disable their comm relay and their bridge crew. I have taken the liberty of uploading to your HUD waypoints to your targets. Good luck and stay sharp." Reynolds cut the line as the teams prepared for drop. He then focused back at the holotable as the ship decreased distance between them and the Covenant Assault Carrier, Clarity of Absolution.

[Naked Crook]

Tye nodded at Jacob. Tyber: Right. Good luck out there. Tye saluted Jacob. Tyber: And let's hope that the other side isn't Saint Peter's Gates. Meanwhile: The King Raven started to move into position, as the Covenant Carrier that they were assigned to, had lost its shield and was now susceptible to attack. Operations Officer: Sir...shields on our designated Carrier have been taken down. Burke: Take us in, full power to engines. ODST Teams...be ready to launch on my mark! Burke looked at the screens that hung on the wall of the King Raven. He watched The King Raven closed in on its optimal launching position. Burke could feel The King Raven shake as it was hit by smaller Plasma projectiles. Helm officer: Sir...we are taking fire. We are sustaining direct hits on our fore and port sides. Burke: maintain course. Burke paused. Burke: Time until optimal launching position? Operations Officer: 15 seconds sir. Burke counted the 15 seconds in his head. There was nothing he wanted more than to launch the pods and pull away. However, he needed to gets those pods launched no matter the cost or the danger. Operations Officer: Sir...we are in position! Burke: Launch all pods...provide cover fire for the pods and keep any smaller Covenant Seraph interceptors off of our ODSTs. Meanwhile: Yates, who was still aboard The Vigorous Inferno, had entered the hager bay. He could see various UNSC personnel on the hanger deck. Yates looked around the hanger deck, and he saw his Pelican in the far corner, just where he had left it. He made a B-Line over to his Pelican. However, just as Yates reached his Pelican, he was stopped by one of the hanger personnel. Hanger Deck Officer: Sir...it is not advised that you be here. We are trying to clear the deck in case we need to launch any support interceptors. I'm going to have to ask you to- Yates frowned, as he clenched his fist, and drove it right into the gut of the Hanger Deck officer. The officer keeled over, and Yates grabbed the officer by the back of the head, and drove his knee into the officer's face. Yates: Don't EVER tell me what to do son. Yates rolled his eyes, as he stepped onto his Pelican. He started the pre-flight sequence, as he readied for his departure.

[Kairu]

(I updated my first post with Team Harmony's Character Apps) The Mind's Attrition closed the gap as the ship continued to fire at the Clarity of Absolution. The point-defense systems were working well to keep the corridor clear of enemy fighters as they approached. When the pod bay for teams Hawk and Harmony, the pods were fired. The pods continued, drifting from the velocity of the Mind's Attrition. Reynolds had Anderson monitoring their progress as the Attrition reached the other optimal location for teams Hawk and Zanzibar. They were fired too, also utilizing the velocity from the frigate they launched from. Fireteam Harmony descended down towards the Covenant Assault Carrier and about a third of the way along the length of the ship. Their insertion would put them a number of decks above the communications relay chamber. From in her drop pod, Jessica Arman, Team Harmony's squad leader was plotting their descent. Arman: "Alright team, use your thrusters and move towards the first set of lights on the dorsal side." The pods moved as expected as her team adjusted their trajectory. Ready to collide through the hull of the ship.

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob returned the salute and smiled. Jacob: I was hoping the other side would be the bar and a few cigars... Jacob nodded at Tye, but before he could finish, the main perimeter came under fire from plasma and small Covenant arms fire. Marine: Counterattack! Return fire! The perimeter of marines began to return fire at the Covenant units approached them. Jacob turned to Tye. Jacob: Good luck my friend.. Jacob nodded and then ran off towards one of the taller vantage points on the front line. Concurrently: Harrison watched as the Mind's Attrition and King Raven slid into position above the two cruisers. He smiled as he saw several dozens pods launch from each ship. Murphy: Admiral! We are in prime position above the Perilus Avenger. Ready to drop on your mark! Harrison nodded as the Vigorous Inferno rocked a bit. Officer: Sir, taking minor damage to the hull! Point defense cannons are holding the seraphs off, we need to drop now! Harrison nodded and slammed his hand down on his console. Harrison: All infiltration teams, you have the green light! Go! Go! Go! Almost instantly, pods began to drop simultaneously from the Inferno. Harrison only imagined what the sight looked like from space. He knew he would lose troopers, but he knew he could get them on the ships, too. The defense cannons were doing their work, stopping Covenant assault ships from reaching the ODSTs. Harrison: As soon as all teams are clear, signal the other ships to pull back to the main fleet. We will take them from behind and regroup with the main battle groups. Murphy: Aye, aye, sir! Sending out mission parameters now.

[Naked Crook]

Tye could hear the plasma fire on the perimeter that had been set up. Tye contacted all points on the ground. Tyber: All points...this is Commander Vernette. We are under attack - repeat - we are under attack. All points stay on alert and watch for hostiles in your area. Keep all Covenant contacts away from the civilians and do NOT allow a single alien SOB to set a bloody foot on Spaceport property. Tye rushed towards the main spaceport terminal. Tyber: All Snipers...keep your scopes on the field. I want all heavies keeping the sky clear and the roads clear of any Covenant armor. Meanwhile: Nighthawk and Anaconda were still in the Phantom. Anaconda heard the plasma fire. Anaconda: We are under attack. Nighthawk didn't take his eyes off what he was doing. Nighthawk: Go find Jennifer...keep an eye on her. Keep her safe. If she argues...pick her up and carry her to safety. I will deal with her later. Anaconda nodded, as he engaged his active camo, and jumped from off the Phantom.

[Kairu]

The Mind's Attrition moved forward and cleared the assigned Carrier. The ship went full speed and turned hard to shoot back and regroup with the strike group. Cortez: "Regrouping with the task force, Sir." Reynolds: "Very good, Lieutenant." Meanwhile: ODST Fireteam Harmony breached the Clarity of Absolution. As the pods pierced the hull, they fell through multiple decks, bringing them closer to their first target. The pods finally stopped five decks down, leaving a multiple breaches in sections of those decks. The rookie of the team, Private Agate Cadieux, watched as multiple Brutes, as well as other aliens such as Jackals and Grunts get vented into space. Cadieux heard Arman speak team-wide. Arman: "Private Cadieux you landed too far from target, regroup on me. I am sending you my coordinates now. Everyone, ensure your suits are set for spacewalk. Corporal Axlon and Sergeant Robertson, meet up with Cadieux. You two are the closest. Make sure she gets here in one piece." Cadieux grabbed her assault rifle from it's holster in the pod along with her secondary. A waypoint was automatically set to Arman's position. She also had markers set for Axlon's and Robertson's locations. Cadieux popped the hatch to the pod open where she was met with little distance. She watched as a couple Grunts tried to stop her, only to be sucked away by the breach from her pod. Cadieux magnetized her boots and brought her assault rifle up for aiming. She began to move towards a central corridor where she'd rendezvous with Axlon and Robertson.

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob ran to an elevated position. It was towards the front lines, and he could hear marines inside the building he was entering. Jacob ran to the emergency staircase and kicked the door open. He ran up the steps towards the rooftop, to his surprise, no other sniper team had taken the position. He darted over one of the vents and slid behind the roof cover. Jacob took a deep breath and peered over the cover, he noticed that only small groups of grunts and jackals were charging the perimeter. They were being cut down before they were even in firing range of assault rifles. Jacob contacted the marines on the ground. Jacob: All sniper teams..hold your fire. They are only sending in grunts and jackals, save your shots for the enemies that matter. Marines on the perimeter, fire bursts, don't use whole magazines against these shitheads. Jacob set up his sniper on the roof's edge. He had a nice firing zone, as directly in front of him laid a main zone, to the left and right were small buildings. If anything big tried to come here, as it surely would, he would immediately stop that. Jacob took a deep breath and looked through his scope, trying to find the brutes or elites leading the charge. A few kilometers away, Dangerus and his bodyguards were moving through the ground, following the pack in front of him. He knew the initial grunts and jackals were only going to be cannon fodder, exploiting any holes the UNSC forces had. Dangerus growled. Dangerus: Send the initial shock troopers. Break the weaknesses in their lines. One of his bodyguards grunted and ran past them, the brute was going to lead the initial shock trooper attack. Above San Angeles: Harrison was notified that Captain Reynolds was reforming with the Saint's Society and Raging Elephant, both of which were doing well against the Covenant escorts trying to assist the main cruisers. Murphy: Admiral! All teams send a green light, they are in and moving to their objectives now. Harrison nodded. Harrison: Pull back to the other ships. Covering fire to the King Raven, they are getting hit hard. Recycle weapon pods, keep up a continuous rate of fire. Charge the MAC. The bridge crew started to run across the deck, sending and receiving information from the main fleet. Comms Officer: Sir, word from the main fleet says they are putting up a good fight. They've managed to take down several auxiliary Covenant ships, along with two main CCS-battlecruisers. Initial reports indicate several hundred thousand casualties to main Covenant fleet. Harrison nodded. Harrison: Status of our fleet? Officer: Our initial jump got us in deep, sir. We managed to get the jump on the Covenant, but they are now returning fire and coordinating with each other well. We've lost three destroyers and two frigates. Harrison nodded. Harrison: Give the fleet the signal to fall back once we regroup.
