Hayes, who had left the bridge and went to his office to await Tylan, was sitting behind his desk. Hayes: Commander Tylan... Hayes pointed at one of the chairs at the opposite end of his desk. Hayes: Sit... Hayes paused. Hayes: Before you tell me that you prefer to stand...consider the fact that I gave you an order, and I did not make a request...

[Erex]

Tylan: Yes sir tylan takes a seat.

[Naked Crook]

Hayes: Commander...let me tell you a bit about me... Hayes paused. Hayes: Not too long ago...I served under the command of the MOST abrasive, short-fused, quick to anger, intolerant...and dare I say...most brilliant son of a bitch Naval officer I have ever known. An officer who called Harvest his home world...an officer who lost pretty much everything anyone could ever value in life...an officer who not only survived the war with the Covenant, but went on to be known as one of the most brilliant and bravest military leaders in our history. Hayes paused. Hayes: Serving under the command of an officer like that has withered my tolerance for stupidity down to a VERY short fuse... Hayes paused again. Hayes: So...with that said...you have 30 seconds to explain to me why you broke battle group formation, and got your ship destroyed!

Tylan: I have no bullshit excuse sir. It was my fault and I will accept full responsibility for it and the men that I did lose sir. I dont make excuses.

[Naked Crook]

Hayes: How nice... Hayes paused. Hayes: I find it so...disheartening...that while your crew was dying...you had already made your way to the escape pod...instead of standing on the bridge of your ship in a final act of defiance...buying those good men and women under your command every second you could to ensure that at least one more person made it out alive... Hayes shook his head. Hayes: But...you were more important...rioght?

[Erex]

Tylan: I was last person on the pods sir some people got locked into areas that were venting atmosphere. I would have stayed If there wasnt room. You dont think that I dont care for my men Some of the men I got killed were my friends. They had children it was my fault they are dead. Im not important I feel like shit that I got on the escape pod I was the biggest mistake of my life. I should have stayed. But no one else got to the escapebpod.

Hayes sighed. Hayes: You disobeyed orders Commander...and I am not pleased with that. Hayes paused. Hayes: If our positioned were reversed...what would you do to someone who disobeyed orders and got their ship destroyed? Hmm?

Tylan: Id have him demoted or thrown out of service.

[Naked Crook]

Hayes: I could demote you... Hayes shrugged. Hayes: I could end your career...in a blaze of glory during a military tribunal for gross...and I mean utterly GROSS incompetence. Hayes shrugged. Hayes: But to be honest...that is paperwork I would rather not do during a crisis of this magnitude. I have better things to do than deal with you...so this is what I am going to do. Hayes paused. Hayes: You, unlike your ship, is going to get...how do you say it...a SECOND CHANCE? Hayes scoffed. Hayes: I have not given you permission to laugh...so don't. However...I digress. Hayes paused. Hayes: I am going to give you one more chance Tylan...ONE MORE...chance... Hayes took a deep breath. He put both hands on his desk and stood up, glaring at Tylan. Hayes: But so help me God Tylan...if you end up on that side of my desk again due to your utter and incomprehensible stupidity...I will snap you back so hard you will find yourself in a classroom with a batch of first year boyscout cadets...am I clear? If you value your life...you will say YES SIR...and nothing else!
