Anderson was currently on the bridge while Reynolds was still in his office talking to Yates. Ensign White: "Sir, Admiral Harrison is asking for our readiness on the assault." Anderson: "Let him know we are ready. I have green lights on my readout." White: "Message away." Anderson then alerted Reynolds. Anderson: "Captain, I'm sorry to interrupt, but Admiral Harrison has asked for our readiness for the assault. I had informed him we were ready. I will keep you apprised of future orders." Reynolds muted his end of the line with Yates and responded. Reynolds: "Thank you, Anderson." Reynolds unmuted his line with Yates. Reynolds: "Sorry to put you on hold, Sir, but Harrison has asked for Ops readiness."

[Naked Crook]

Yates: Let Harrison know you are ready, and go along with the plan. Carry out the plan as best as you can. Yates paused. He consider his own situation. Yates: I will contact you later Reynolds. Return to your posting, and deal with your crew. Yates out. Yates closed the comm line. He then turned to look at Black Team. Yates: Gentlemen...we are on the ship of the damned here. Harrison is about take this boat into a combat situation. They seem to have a pretty solid plan and they may actually end up doing serious damage to The Covenant, which could undermine our efforts. Black 4: Please tell me you ant us to sabotage the ship. Yates: I would only order THAT if we had a sure way out of here. Yates paused. Yates: No...I have a better idea. I want you four on one of those teams that are going to partake in boarding action against The Covenant. I want you four to...mitigate a possible UNSC victory, bringing it down from a total victory...to something less clear cut. Black 1: You want US to help the Covenant? Yates: No...I want you to be...biased officiators in any combat situation between the UNSC and Covenant. I want you to make sure the...balance of power in San Angeles remains intact, and that we are left with an endgame that does not disrupt the projected and desired path of our operations. I want you four to make sure The Trust wins. It is why you four do best...is it not? Black 1: Yeah...that seems to be a big part of our job. So...how do you expect us to get onto Harrison's little boarding party? Yates: I do't klnow...but I want you to improvise an idea, and improvise one with the ever prevalent notion that you DO have authoriztion to kill anyone you must in order to complete this mission. Black Team exchanged a few looks, and then nodded to Yates. Black 1: We will think of something. For starters though...we need to get to where ever the hell those ODSTs are going to be launching from. Yates: Agreed.

[Kairu]

Reynolds stood up from his desk. He took a deep breath. He knew he was walking an irreversable path. He wasn't sure how he knew that this path was dangerous other than the fact that his instincts were screaming that what he was doing was wrong. Reynolds walked around and returned to the bridge. Anderson got up from the command chair and stood next to it, offering it back to Reynolds. Reynolds walked to the holotable. Reynolds: "Signal Fireteams Viper, Zanzibar, Hawk, and Harmony to suit up. They will be going into this mission. I will meet them in the dropstation for mission briefing. Also, get me a ship-wide report to my PDA." Reynolds watched the holo-render of the area with both Covenant and UNSC fleets near San Angeles. He then walked towards the door off the bridge. Reynolds: "You have the bridge, Anderson." Anderson nodded and Reynolds walked off the bridge to meet up with the chosen fireteams. On the way there, Reynolds could hear Anderson's voice echo through every corner of the ship, relaying Reynolds' orders. Anderson: "Fireteams: Viper, Zanzibar, Hawk, and Harmony, please report to the drop stations for assignment."

[Hells Sniper]

Harrison looked at his holomap, he saw the ships line up in formation. Four of the five ships were green, all indicating they were ready for launch, only one was a distinct orange color. Harrison: Await for Captain Burke's response. We move once he gives the green light. Harrison paused, and activated the fleet wide communications. He hoped he could give the marines and sailors that extra boost of morale that they needed before this fight. Harrison: Sailors...marines...this is your Admiral speaking. Harrison paused, he took a deep breath. Harrison: In a few minutes, we are going to begin our counterattack on the Covenant fleet. The same Covenant fleet that thinks they beat us back. The same Covenant fleet that believes our planet has become theirs. Well, soldiers of the UNSC, it's time we proved those Covenant bastards who the hell they are fighting. Harrison paused, he looked at the holomap. His fleet was strong, he knew they could take the even stronger Covenant and live to tell about it. Harrison: We have been fighting this war for fifteen years. For some of you, fighting the Covenant is all you know. Today, that is going to be useful. Today, we are going to bring the fight to the Covenant and finally hit them back with everything we have. Harrison sighed. Harrison: I know this planet is home for some of you, I know many of you have lost friends, family, relatives. I understand, my home was lost in the very beginning of this war. But we are not only fighting for OUR homes. We are fighting for HUMANITY'S home. We are fighting for Earth and all her colonies! Harrison smiled, he could hear some shouts and yells from his crew members. Harrison: We still have men and women trapped on that planet, desperately fighting waves of Covenant! We still have humans suffering on the planet below. But they are fighting! They are surviving, and it's time we help them survive! All hands to battle stations. And chase these bastards all the way back to THEIR homes! Harrison paused, he smiled and stood straight. Harrison: Task Force Zulu and Charlie, begin your attack on my signal, focus on the smaller cruisers, take down their shields. Task Force Potluck and X-Ray, provide covering fire. All other Task Forces bring down those ships and cut my group a hole! I will lead Eclipse, and we will punch a hole into the Battle cruisers...our ODSTs will take over those ships, and use them to our advantage. Harrison paused again. Harrison: God speed. Good luck. And I'll see you all on the other side. With that, Harrison cut the comms, and a few minutes later, he saw his fleet begin to move in their formations. Harrison: Once Burke signals the all-clear, engage all thrusters and form up in a diamond formation. Let the Raging Elephant and Saint's Society on our six, I want them on cover duty. Meanwhile: Jacob was walking with Tye towards the armory. As they entered, Jacob immediately grabbed a new helmet and synced it with his HUD. He stretched his back and arm as he moved over to grab a sniper rifle and assault rifle from the racks. Jacob: You think we can hold 'em? Jacob asked Tye as he reviewed his weapons.

Everyone aboard the Mind's Attrition was inspired with Harrison's speech. Reynolds reached the designated ODST launch station and met up with the fireteams. Reynolds: "Alright, the mission is simple. You will be deployed to breach the Covenant's flagship and take it over. We'll turn their command vessel on those alien bastards and send them running home as the Admiral said. Achieve your goal however necessary, show no mercy. They sure as hell haven't shown the people of San Angeles any. Most importantly, be cautious. One of the senior members of ONI may have something going on onboard which may deter you from your mission. Knowing how this operative works, there will likely be bloodshed. If you encounter any of the ONI operations, state that you are under my command and hope for the best outcome. I will not guarantee your safeties. Be cautious, be vigilant. Saddle up, teams. You have aliens to kill." The fireteams said nothing else. They got into their ODST pods and prepped for deployment. Reynolds raced to the bridge, knowing that the battle would start before too long and he had to ensure the ship was ready.

Meanwhile: Burke was on the bridge of The King Raven. He was in the process of getting finalized status updates from the teams that he had assigned into combat. Burke was hitting the bottom of the barrel with the number of ODSTs he had under his direct command, as a large number of ODSTs were deployed from The King Raven at the start of the battle. However, Burke did manage to work out his teams, and he had filled his portion of the roster. Burke: Signal the Command Ship...inform Admiral Harrison that I am ready on my end. All of our teams are ready to go on his order. Burke paused for a moment, looking over the manifest for The King Raven. Operations Officer: Aye sir...message away. Burke: Helm...during the engagement...keep our port side to any incoming that is directed at us. We still have battle damage on our starboard side from our first scuffle, and I am not looking to make things worse over there. Helm Officer: Yes sir! Burke: Ops...make sure damage control teams are at the ready. We are definatly going to need them to respond at a moment's notice if we take any serious hits. Operations Officer: Yes sir. Burke simply nodded in approval. He waited for the coming battle. Meanwhile: Yates and ODST Black Team were moving through the corridors of the Vigorous Inferno, heading to one of the axillary ODST Bays. Black 2 was leading the group, as he looked at his PDA. Yates: Give me some good news Black 2. What do you have for us? Black 2: I have a team name...and a launch location. According to the fleet chatter, Harrison has managed to organize a few teams here. The closest one to where we are is Whiskey Force - currently located in Axillary launch bay 3. They are a team of 6, and their primary responsibility was to arm explosive charges on the driver coils of the Covenant command ship. Yates: Sounds good to me. Those are the guys you are going to replace. Black 2: We are not far from their launch point. It is about 50 meters down this corridor. Yates and Black Team picked up the pace a little, until they were right outside the launch bay. They stood outside the door, as they prepped their weapons. Black 1 looked at the rest of Black Team, as he raised his hand. He counted down from 5. The moment his hand turned into a fist, Black 2 opened the door, and Black Team stormed into the launch bay. Without even so much as a greeting, or even a single sound, Black Team moved forward, with their weapons raised, and shot down each and every single member of Whiskey Force, before any member of Whiskey Force could even turn around to see their killers. Yates waited a few moments. When he heard the gunfire stop, he entered the launch bay. Yates: Good work men. Let's take care of these bodies. Yates saw that there were six pods ready, yet only 4 members of Black Team. Yates then had an idea. Yates: We have two spare pods...and six dead bodies. Do you think we can stuff three corpses into a single pod? Black 2: Yes... Everyone looked at Black 2. Black 2: With room for one more in each...if you really push...and cram them in... Black 3: Ummm...how do you know that? Yates: Who cares...that was the answer I was looking for. Come on...help me get rid of these bodies. The last thing we need is Harrison finding out that Whiskey Team's transponders never left the ship. That is just 20 questions waiting to happen. Yates helped Black Team moved the dead bodies into the two spare pods, putting three bodies per pod. The process itself took several minutes, but the task was accomplished just as Black 2 said it would be. Black 2: See? Told ya! Yates: Good work men. Now...get those last four pods...get over there...and make sure that command ships stays in the fight. Black Team nodded, and they each began to load into their own respective pods. However, Black 1 stopped, and looked at Yates. Black 1: Sir...I HIGHLY recommend that you get off this ship. It would be much safer if you returned to The Ulterior Motive. Yates: You may be right Black 1...you may be right. Black 1: The Pelican we came here in is equipped with stealth systems. You could sneak out and nobody would be the wiser. Yates: Good call...I think I will do that. Yates sighed. He then saluted Black 1. Yates: Good luck son...I know you, and your team will do us proud. Humanity is counting on you. We both know how important it is for The Trust to get what it needs. The future of man kind depends on it. Keep us ion the game. Black 1: Yes sir! Yates nodded. Black 1 entered his pod, and he readied himself for launch. Yates waited a moment, but then turned to leave the launch bay, intent on making his way to the Vigorous Inferno's hanger bay before the situation made his escape any more difficult.

[Hells Sniper]

Almost immediately, Harrison had received notification of Burke's readiness. Harrison: Ladies and gentlemen...let's do this. Harrison tapped a button on his command terminal. Harrison: All hands to battle stations! We are heading in now. All hands to battle stations. Harrison looked at his helmsman and nodded. He turned to Murphy. Harrison: Signal the rest of the fleet. Engage forward engines, signal the Raging Elephant and Saint's Society to begin covering fire. As soon as that hole is cleared, punch us through and get us in position! Murphy nodded, and before Harrison's eyes, the fleet began to move in on the Covenant fleet. The Covenant had not anticipated a return attack, and had not moved since the UNSC ships began to move. Harrison: We have a slight jump on them...all ships power up your MACs! Punch a hole!

[Naked Crook]

Burke could hear Harrison's order to fire over the fleet chatter. Burke simply looked at his weapon's officer, and gave a nod. Burke: You heard the Admiral...lock on our designated targets, and fire at will. Load all Shiva tactical warheads, and commence fire. We have to get the shields down on the larger ships if we have any chance of getting our boys inside. Burke paused for a moment, as he considered possible counter attacks from The Covenant. Burke: Keep a sensor lock on the smaller Covenant ship. If the smaller support crafts attempt to move into offensive position, open up with our Archer pods and our deck guns, but do not hit any of the smaller ships with our MAC just yet. Tactical Officer; Aye sir...firing the MAC in 3...2...1... The King Raven fired off 2 shots from it's MAC, both shots scording a direct hit on the forward shields of one of the larger Assault Carriers which was being targeted for boarding action. Tactical officer: Two direct hits sir. Enemy shields are holding. Commencing Shiva salvo. The King Raven began to fire off a barage of Shiva missiles at the same Assault Carrier they managed to hit. Most of the missiles made it through the point defenses of the Covenant fleet, and managed to impact the shields. Tactical Officer: Enemy shields are fluctuating sir. If we can keep this up, we should be able to break through the shields of Assault Carrier 3. Burke: Start to cycle our weapons. Fire at first availability.

Reynolds returned to the bridge where all of the bridge officers were at their stations ready for the battle. Reynolds had b-lined straight to the holotable. He pressed a few buttons and brought up fleet formations. Anderson was on the other side of the table from Reynolds. Anderson: "Engineering is reporting green lights. Damage control teams are standing by on multiple decks. All weapon batteries are ready for fire. ODSTs report ready for launch and I have taken the liberty of preparing marines for any reverse boarding parties. We are ready to engage when Admiral Harrison gives the order, Sir." Reynolds reviewed everything on the PDA Anderson slid to him. Reynolds: "Very good, Anderson." Reynolds looked at the holotable's rendering of the UNSC's fleet formation. Harrison: "We have a slight jump on them...all ships power up your MACs! Punch a hole!" Reynolds: "You heard the man! Helm take us in. Keep us in formation. Charge up the MAC. Stick to Harrison's plan." Reynolds could feel the MAC charging. Using the MAC to blow a Covenant ship out of the sky was his favorite feeling in the galaxy. The anticipation making his heart feel joyous. Reynolds: "Fire on our assigned targets." The Mind's Attrition fired it's rounds of MAC blasts at one of the Covenant ships. The ship continued forward with the battlegroup. Reynolds watched as the holotable showed they were in weapons range. Reynolds: "Fire weapons. All pods from one to twenty-five open fire on our targets. Keep us in formation."

Meanwhile: While the battle for orbital supremacy raged above his head, Tye was busy checking his weapons and making sure they were in prime condition for the fight that was closing in on them. Tye had been sitting on a supply crate, cleaning his SMG as Jacob re-geared. Tyber: To be honest? I am giving this one a 50/50. I have been through some pretty horrible shit in my day...but very little compares to this. I think we would get lucky if we walked away from this one alive. Just as Tye said this, he was approached by Cameron. Cameron: Sir...all of our points check in as ready. We have Warthogs scouting the area, and we have snipers set up on our high points. Tye nodded. Tyber: Alright...fair enough. Return to your post Cameron. We will need you on the front lines. I want you to engage first. Take whoever you think would be suitable for frontline engagement, and make sure that any Covenant SOBs that has the misfortune of running into you, dies. Cameron: Aye sir. Cameron looked at Tye for a moment. Cameron: Sir...you seem distracted. Tyber: What? Cameron: I can tell. You seem very introverted right now. Typically you are...more loud. Instead, you are sitting here, by yourself, and you have very little to say. I have come to expect more...shouting...from you. Tyber: Is it that obvious? Cameron: I just don't think other people want to say it. Tye sighed. Tyber: I am a little bothered Cam. However...I would rather not go into it. Believe me...when the shooting starts...I will be 100% in the game. An old friend had a saying..."as long as we have an enemy in our sights...everything is a hell of a lot easier..." Cameron: Hmmm... Cameron shrugged. Cameron: Well...to each his own. If there is nothing else sir, I better report to the front lines. Tyber: Dismissed. Cameron nodded. He then turned and walked off, heading to the front lines. Tye looked back at Jacob, and shrugged. Tyber: It has been a rough day. But...Cam is right...he is nothing if not observant. I have been pretty distracted. I just hope that won't be my undoing today. Meanwhile: Nighthawk was busy dismantling the control assembly in the cockpit of the Phantom. He was laying down under the cockpit, shifting through the internals of the cockpit station where most of the electronics were stored. Anaconda was simply watching him work. Anaconda: How much longer is this going to take? Nighthawk: Not much longer. I should be able to get this working...IF I could find out how to get this god damn memory bank out of the god damn main board. The thing is lodged in here. Anaconda: Careful you don't break it. Nighthawk: I'm not going to break it. Nighthawk sighed. He had to take a break for a moment. Nighthawk: Damn thing doesn't want to come out. Anaconda: Just keep at it. Nighthawk sat up, and shook his head. Nighthawk: Look...there is a very good chance that I could be stuck doing this when The Covenant gets here. Anaconda: Don't worry...I have you covered. Nighthawk: It's not that. I can handle myself. I'm...more concerned about everyone else here. Anaconda didn't reply. Nighthawk: I would consider it a personal favor if you could...keep an eye on...specific people. You know...keep them alive. If I am stuck here, I can't really do it myself, you know? Anaconda: By specific people..do you mean specific person? Nighthawk: No... Anaconda tiled his head a bit in doubt. Nighthawk: Well...perhaps... Anaconda let out a grunt. Nighthawk: Yes... Anaconda: Say no more. I have it all figured out. I'll keep your female safe. Nighthawk sighed. Nighthawk: Thanks. Nighthawk paused, as he glared at Anaconda. Nighthawk: Now...I better get back to work. Anaconda nodded. Anaconda: Yeah...you should.
