Nighthawk: Good. I am glad you two are on-board with this idea. Perhaps there is hope for you two yet. Nighthawk stood up and walked out of the Vulture. He had Jacob, Tye, and Anaconda in tow. As the group approached the Phantom, Anaconda stopped and looked at the Phantom. Anaconda: I recognize this Phantom. I recognize the markings. THis Phantoms belongs to one of the Covenant's fleet commanders. Anaconda looked at Jacob. Anaconda: Where did you get this Phantom from, exactly? I know who this Phantom belongs to...and I seriously doubt that you were just able to "take it".

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob shrugged, he knew brutes knew each other, and he knew Anaconda was still a brute in the Covenant. He also knew that brutes could smell fear, taste lies, so he did his best to keep his composure in front of Anaconda. Jacob: I didn't just "take it." Jacob began, continuing to walk towards it. Jacob: When the Trust marines were fighting the Covenant soldiers, mainly brutes, I doubled back with MacLaren on my back. Two brutes were guarding it, so I took them out with some 'nades and the Socom MacLaren had. Jacob shrugged, they had almost reached the phantom when the Sergeant his men to leave the area as Jacob and the others approached it. Jacob: I ran in with MacLaren and flew it out.

Anaconda gave Jacob a single look. Anaconda: Hmmm... Anaconda thought for a moment about what Jacob said. Anaconda: I just find it odd that the Fleet Commander of the Covenant Fleet would be so far out of the way, as opposed to being near the front lines, coordinating the efforts among the Covenant's ground forces. Clearly something else was on his mind. Nighthawk stopped and turned. He looked at Anaconda. Nighthawk: Now, when you say "his"...you mean... Anaconda: Dangerus. Nighthawk: Right...right...the one from Regional HQ Bravo. Tell me again, how well do you know Dangerus? Anaconda: I know of him. I know things about him. I am familiar with his military record. He has potential, and I can respect that. However...I don't know where his potential ends and his ambition starts. I always kept an eye on him when he was around because of that fact. Anaconda paused. Anaconda: I kept an eye on them all...so, take that as you will. Nighthawk: Dangerus aside...the situation makes me wonder...The leader of the Covenant forces here at San Angeles...The Trusts's right hand man...both in the same spot...both trying to kill each other. Could be a coincidence...or not.

Jacob shrugged. Jacob: I don't know why he came, maybe he wanted to investigate the fact that half a forest was burning a few miles from the city he was conquering. Maybe he was interested in what was going on during his invasion... Jacob paused and walked forward. Jacob: After you...

Before Reynolds let the line close, he stopped. Reynolds: "Sir, before I forget. The UNSC is about to undergo a hit and run tactic to distract and lure Covenant ships out of formation. We have re-established comm links with the surface and hopefully luring a few ships out of orbit, they are hoping to achieve a more level playing field. In case you didn't know."

Nighthawk watched as Jacob stood beside the Phantom, giving him the invitation to preceded the others. Nighthawk jumped int through the side hatch, pulling himself up. He looked down at the others. Nighthawk: Listen up guys...this is going to take me a few minutes to do what I need to do. Nighthawk looked at Tye and Jacob. Nighthawk: You guys have a job to do; prepping civilians and getting ready for the Covenant onslaught. ABove all else, this is your priority. If there is a chance I can't pull off what I am suggesting, you guys have to be ready to pick up the slack, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. So...why don't you guys go and do your jobs...and I will go and do mine. I'll let you know if I managed to get anything on this end...scouts honor. Tye sighed at this, almost unsure about it. However, he knew that Nighthawk had a point about what the priorities were. Tye glared at Nighthawk. Tyber: Alright...fair enough, just don't try and screw us over on this. We're trusting you...so don't blow it. Tye then looked at Jacob. Tyber: Let's get everyone rounded up as best as we can. The Covenant is coming one way or the other, and we have to be ready to put them down no matter what. Let's get to it because the clock is ticking. Meanwhile: Yates thought for a moment. Yates: It is not unexpected that the UNSC is putting up a fight. In fact, I am pleased that they are. Those men and women are earning their pay. However...based on experience, I have learned that Harrison is a stubborn man who tells me nothing about what he is doing. If you could keep me apprised of the specifics of Harrison's battle plan...that would be great. We would be...appreciative. Yates shrugged. Yates: And we have no problem with redundant information Reynolds. We like it when intel has been verified by two or more sources. We would prefer you come forward as often as you can with reports and updates. Just don't tell Harrison, or anyone else for that matter, that you ARE reporting to us. I would not want you to burn the bridge of trust, so to speak.

[Kairu]

Reynolds: "As for details of the operation, Commander Burke and I have volunteered to go forward and strike at the Covenant. We will attempt to navigate on either side of the flagship and use ODSTs to pierce through their hull and take the ship from the inside. The Command Staff feel it is a prime opportunity to crumble the Covenant fleet from the inside out, starting with the head."

Yates looked at Reynolds. He thought about hat Reynolds said. The fact of the matter was, a UNSC victory at San Angeles was against the short term goals of The Trust. Yates knew this all too well, and he knew that he had to make sure that it didn't happen. Yates: I see... Yates paused. Yates: This attack could seriously damage the Covenant. However...I am force to wonder...how MUCH would it damage the Covenant. Do you think this attack is worth the effort an the investment of manpower?

[Kairu]

Reynolds: "I have full faith in this plan. After all, I was the one who proposed it. I sincerely believe we could seriously cripple the Covenant fleet with one swift, unorthodox blow. We have done the simulations and we have calculated that the ODST pods will survive the blow through their armor. I have faith in the soldiers that they will achieve their goal."

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob looked at Nighthawk and then Anaconda. He turned back to Nighthawk and then nodded. Jacob: Fine... Jacob turned away with Tye and began to exit the phantom. Jacob: First thing's first. I need to get rearmed...and I need a new helmet. Meanwhile: Harrison was on board his bridge, making the final preparations for the Insertion Teams. Harrison: LT Murphy, get me the green light on all teams. Murphy nodded and pressed a button on his console. Murphy: All teams...report in. One by one, teams around the Vigorous Inferno began to report their green light status. Marine: This is Fireteam Echo, ready for launch. Marine 2: Fireteam Trident, reporting a green light. ODST 1: Strike Team Granite, ready to move in. ODST 2: Interno Squadron reporting ready to fight. ODST 3: Whiskey Force sending the green light. The teams continued to report in, and eventually, all twenty strike teams from the Vigorous Inferno had reported a green light. Murphy turned to Harrison. Murphy: All teams have a green light to go, we're ready when you give the order, Admiral. Harrison nodded and then contacted Captain Reynolds and Captain Burke. Harrison: Captain Burke...Captain Reynolds. I have a green light from all my strike teams that they are ready to move. I need a green light from your men if we want to proceed with the Infiltration. Harrison paused and looked at his helmsman. Harrison: Helms...bring us into position with Captain Reynolds and Captain Burke. Get the Raging Elephant and Saint's Society to come up on our belly's and provide an escort.
