Jacob watched his counter freeze. He too, froze. Jacob: Ed...restart that download. Ed: I cannot. You need to manually override it through the original terminal you were on, and keep that man busy for a few minutes. Jacob sighed. He took a deep breath and slowly approached the screen he was first at. He could see Kolya standing there, scanning the area for him. Jacob nodded and took a deep breath. He rolled his neck and then ran at Kolya, firing his weapon. Kolya reacted and dove into cover a few screens down. Jacob continued to fire with one hand, as he used the other hand to restart the download. Jacob: Ed, tell me how to lock this thing down! Jacob's clip ran dry, he knew he only had a few seconds, as he began to reload it, facing the way Kolya had just turned. Ed: Manually override it, Captain. Lockdown sequence Alpha, please state your ONI ID. Jacob: S-J-0-2-8-R-0-6 Ed: Lockdown in effect, download of all sensitive data continuing.

Kolya remained in cover. Kolya: Ed...supersede lock-down request, and override. Recognize ONI Indentification code Augustus Kolya K-A-9-6-D-R-3-3 Kolya paused. Kolya got out of cover as he said this, and charged at Jacob. Kolya ran right up to Jacob, and slammed the butt of his shotgun right into Jacob's chest, with immense force, much more force than a typical man could muster. This dropped Jacob to he knees. Kolya looked down at Jacob and shook his head. Kolya: I gave you your chance Jacob...but you screwed up BIG time. Kolya kicked Jacob in the side, sending Jacob rolling a few feet. Kolya then turned, and reached into his pocket, and pulled out a data chip. He inserted it into a small apparatus below the large screen. Kolya: Ed...access your command history. Begin MOVING all information requested by Jacob Sharpmen to local removable storage device. Kolya then grinned. Kolya: Ohh...one more thing Ed...disreguard all future command requests from command codes SUBORDINATE to my own. Kolya looked back at Jacob. Kolya: You know...in case you try to talk Ed back over to you side. You see who is in charge here...right? Is it clear to you now...little man?

Jacob shook his head from the force. He watched as the counter on his HUD dropped down to 0 and the download ended. He then heard Ed talk from the holotable. Ed: August Kolya, ID - K-A-9-6-D-R-3-3 confirmed. Linking all sensitive data to local removable storage device. System now in lockdown. Jacob shook his head again and looked around. His weapon was a few feet in front of him, and he could feel his stomach hurting from the force Kolya had hit him with. Jacob however, disregarded this and pushed through it. He stood up and immediately charged at Kolya, smashing his body into the projector behind him and shattering it, sending both of their bodies through the one behind that as well. The projectors were made of all glass, with Kolya's back taking most of the damage. Jacob, eventually ran him into the ground, both of them losing their weapons except their sidearms.

Kolya groaned as he hit the ground. He could feel the glass in his back, but he was not bothered by this. Kolya simply retaliated by pushing Jacob right off of him. Kolya got back to his feet. Kolya: That is your second mistake today..."Agent"... Kolya approached Jacob, as Jacob tried to throw a punch. Kolya dodged Jacob's attack by ducking. When Kolya popped back up again, he slammed his left elbow right into the side of Jacob's head, knocking him to the ground.

Reynolds cursed mentally, however, his composure remained. Reynolds: "Fair enough, Sir. Lauren is a trusted individual and a close, personal friend. However, I don't think she is the point. Are you a man of reason and logic,? I would like to ask, who are these people I've been tracking?" Meanwhile: Vhat' and his squadmates were descending down the spaceport. Everything seemed to be going as planned. He then checked his HUD to get the status of everyone's objectives. His other men were busy priming the rest of the ships in the spaceport. Soon, the elevator reached the bottom. The door slid open to an empty corridor. Everything seemed to be empty. The Elites pressed forward following the signs that said <----- POWER GENERATOR. It took awhile for the Elites to navigate to the target, but they reached the room. Vhat' stepped inside and a silent alarm went off. The five Elites moved into the room. Vhat' was the one to begin arming the rest of the explosives. He used some of the explosives to plant a bomb under the maintenance console. One of the other Elites, tore open a hatch and armed an explosive in there too. A third Elite climbed the generator panels and planted some explosives in a crevice outside of the main outer framework. When Vhat' was satisfied with the rigs and that all of the explosives material was used, he opened a different hatch that opened straight down to one of the EM coil generators, underneath that was the a turbine spinning at a high speed. Vhat' armed four plasma grenades dropping them into the large generator. He decided to use a longer delay on the grenades to ensure the safe flee out of the immediate area. The Elites ran out of the room running the way they came. Soon they were stopped by a group of Spartans who dashed to the generator room past the invisible Elites. Shortly after the distance increased, the elevator was available. The Spartans managed to catch the ding of the elevator. They stood outside the door to investigate only to be blown to smitherines from the generator and plasma explosion. The explosion itslef was so large, it rocked the building and ground above it. Vhat' and his men were in the elevator. The shockwave triggered a safety system setup to disengage elevator movements in the time of a crisis. Vhat' and his squad were stuck

Robert sighed. Then he replied to Tyber. Robert: No, Sir. I'm the only one who survived the ambush. Robert shakes his head slowly.

(Sorry I haven't been on) Sergei: Very well, you heard him, team lets get the civilians to the space port, ASAP, lets move! Ace: Move move move! Sergei and his team started to find civilians. SergeI: This is Spartan-034, are there any civilians? Sergei enters an apartment complex and starts scanning rooms. Sergei: UNSC Marines, UNSC Marines? They went through room by room, when they found a little girl about 7 years old her eyes were red from crying. Girl: My mommy and daddy are gone.. Sergei: What do you mean? Girl: Marines came by and took my parents before they could take them to the space port. Sergei: Well lets reunite you with your parents. Sergei starts to walk outside the building, Ace and his team searched the building no more civilians inside. The little girl grabbed Sergei's hand, grasping it tight she didn't want to be seperated from him. Sergei: your gonna be fine. Ace take your team in those buildings and get civilians out of there! Now move! Ace: Got it boss, babysitting? Sergei: Problem is that the rate ain't that great. Ace: haha big guy... Ace and his team were looking around the buildings grabbing a few civilians through the buildings. Sergei: Alright lets get them to the space port. Ace: You wanna stop and ask for directions? Sergei: I've been here before I'll find my way around. Angel: Typical male. Sergei: I'm not a typical male, I've actually been here before once as a child.

Jacob hit the side of the column holding one of the screens and fell to the ground. Jacob: Motherfucker hits like a train... Jacob groaned, and slowly regained his footing, but he saw Kolya about to kick him in the side. Jacob, reacting as quickly as he could, grabbed Kolya's foot, and using his own imbalance and weight, flipped Kolya onto his back, forcing the glass even further into Kolya. Jacob mustered his strength and slammed his elbow down on Kolya's stomach, causing him to keel over in pain and giving Jacob enough time to regather some of his senses. Just then, an announcement was made. Ed: Thirty-eight percent complete. Time remaining; ten minutes, fifteen seconds. Jacob sighed. Jacob: Ten minutes...then you blow this fucking place Ed...

Meanwhile: Hit Squad Kilo was pressed against the wall just before the room of an apartment above the cafe. Zephyr leaned against the wall, assault rifle raised. The voices were getting angrier and louder. He peeked inside and quickly put his back to the wall. 5 elites. A pack of skirmishers. Zephyr felt something drop in his gut. He knew jackals had an astute sense of smell and hearing, and his team was maybe 20 feet away. The difference was that the two groups were arguing, taking the focus off of his team. He peeked again, this time taking a longer look. One of the elites was against the wall, clutching its leg. Explains the blood. One elite was assisting the injured one while the other two were yelling at the skirmishers. The last elite was focused on a door that probably lead to a bedroom but the door was sealed. Angry Elite 1: Brother! These filth should be slain. They are pathetic worms that cannot accomplish their jobs. Angry Elite 2 nodded in agreement. He snorted in jest. Angry Elite 2: Hunters. What a joke... You were supposed to scout out the human establishment and what happens? A brother gets maimed by a human filth. You are responsible and shall pay accordingly. The skirmishers squabbled in response. One skirmisher, of champion rank, looked disapprovingly. He spoke in his native tongue dissaprovingly at his pack. It was clear he cared neither for them or the elites. Skirmisher Champion: I shall not take the fall for your kin's incompetence. He snarled. A dog would seen that coming... Turning on his HUD, Zephyr noticed the mark of a little under a dozen friendlies on the other side of the door. Civilians. Thats why the other elite was focused on the sealed door. Speaking under his breath and using hand signals to designate numbers, he explained the situation to his team. They all nodded in understanding. Brooklyn reached for a grenade but Zephyr stopped him. Civies... Brooklyn nodded and clicked the safety off of his AR. Leapfrog moved to point, his finger slowly moving to the trigger. Holding up three fingers, he began dropping them to one, custom to the typical clear and breach protocol. He clenched his fist and the squad began entering the room just as a plasma shot rang out, a jackal cried out in pain and an energy sword activated.

Kolya had fallen on his back. As he fell, the sound of glass being crushed was heard. Kolya watched as Jacob's elbow slammed inot his stomach. Kolya let out a grunt, as he had the wind knocked out of him briefly. However, Kolya quickly recovered, as he got back to is feet in less than a moment. Kolya gave no signs of slowing down. Kolya continued to move at peak performance. Kolya got back to his feet, and glared at Jacob. His stare was very cold, and very malevolent. Kolya only stared at Jacob very briefly, only long enough to empart a feeling of total and complete contempt. Kolya moved towards Jacob. Kolya ducked and evaded several strikes on Jacob's part, clearing showing that he had the ability to move and react much faster than Jacob could. Kolya eventually capitalized on Jacob. As Jacob threw a right hook, Kolya grabbed Jacob's right wrist with his left hand, and stopped Jacob's punch dead in its tracks. Kolya began to squeeze Jacob's wrist, quickly causing Jacob's fist to lose its strength. After Jacob's hand had gone numb, Kolya used his right fist and drove it into Jacob's stomach, five times, each blow following in succession. On the fifth blow, Jacob fell to his knees. Kolya took a few steps back, as Jacob was still on his knees. Kolya then took several steps forward, in rapid succession, and kicked Jacob right in the side of his head with such force, that Jacob's helmet flew right off, exposing his head. Jacob rolled to the side, and was on the ground, on his back. Kolya looked down at Jacob and laughed. Kolya: You know...you are less of a challenge and more of an annoyance. I dislike people who refuse to die. However...if you choose to prolongue your beatings by refusing to die...well...that is your God-Given right. Kolya walked over to Jacob, and using his right hand, grabbed Jacob by the throat, and lifted Jacob enough to put him into a sitting position. Kolya then proceeded to drag Jacob, across the ground, as Kolya walked towards one of the large monitors in the Archive room. As Kolya got closer to one of the monitors, he lifted Jacob right off the floor, and ff his feet,, and proceeded to slam Jacob as hard as he could through the monitor, letting Jacob go as he slammed him. Jacob went flying through the monitor, and landed on the other side. Jacob was on the ground again. Kolya looked at Jacob, and frowned. Kolya: If you are still alive...I suggest you stay on the ground. Let that million year old sense of animalistic self preservation take over...and play dead...like the little fucking weasel you are. Kolya laughed. Kolya: No wonder Humanity is losing the War against The Covenant. Humanity will go extinct because it had the gall to entrust it's survival to the likes of you, the, quote-unquote, "best of the best". Jacob Sharpmen...whoever had the audacity to EVER recommend you for anything beyond scrubbing the floors of the ship's mess hall...has every God-damn right to die in a fire and rot in hell. Jacob...your pathetic effort against me make me ashamed of my own humanity. Thankfully, however, I don't have very much of it...so I don't have to suffer very much. Kolya turned, and walked away. As he did, he looked at the screen which showed all of the files being copied over to Kolya's data crystal chip. Kolya: Ed? How much longer do I have to be in this hell hole? When will the download be complete? Meanwhile: Yates looked at Reynolds for a moment, and thought about his response. Yates: Captain Reynolds...people is a very broad term. I could surmise who you are talking about, but that would run the risk of me assuming you are dumber than you sound, and I would be guilty of letting too much information fall between the cracks. Narrow it down...and ask me more specific questions...or I refuse to answer anything. Yates paused. Yates: There are...MANY...people you COULD be tracking. So...as I said...give me specifics. Give me details. Narrow it down. I want to know who you think you are tracking. Meanwhile: Tye looked at Robert. Tyber: That is a real shame kid. However, you are here, and you know something about the enemy that everyone else should know. I need to know everything you know. How were the Elites moving? Were they using Camo, or were they more bold and moving exposed? How large was their group? What were they armed with? Any sign of the smaller bastards, such as Grunts and Jackals? Any of the bigger bastards, like Hunters or Brutes? Anything new that we have never seen before... Tye paused. Tyber: Hopefully...nothing new. I have had enough surprises today.
