[Halo] New! Halo RPG Pt. 11

[Hells Sniper]

Black 5 continued walking with Black Team. He knew that the Agents were not too far behind them. Meanwhile: Folee had his shotgun raised, walking behind and a little to the left of Nighthawk. Colby was on Nighthawk's right, and leading the rear of the group was MacLaren and Carmicle. Sigma squad was moving in front of them, and Stolt was in the group as well.

Meanwhile: The Ulterior Motive had continued firing on both The Dreadhawk and The Infinity's Voyage. Howevrr, The Ulterior Motive was still taking more hits than either of the two ships alone. Trust Officer: Sir...I think ONI is trying to offline our communications array. Their attack patterns suggest this. Kolya: Do not allow our comms array to go offline until we can signal for backup. Take a defensive posture. Set all missiles to proximity detonation. Target any incoming cluster of archer missiles and fire at will. Meanwhile: Burke looked at the holotable, which showed tbe current positioning of all three ships. Burke: They are going into a defensive posture...why? Burke thought for a moment. Burke: He may be trying to buy himself time. The only reason to do so would be too...call in reinforcements.

[Hells Sniper]

Harrison was on board the Crimson Shadow. He was near the holotable, getting a layout of the Citadel. Black Team had completely blown through the ONI marines and had a straight shot to Alpha wing, but they had teams following them. It was up to them as the rest of the marines were working on securing all the other wings. Gamma Wing was still closed off, thankfully. Harrison didn't want Trust marines stepping there. Harrison hit a button on the holotable and it switched to a space view. It showed all three ships engaged in hostle activity with each other. Harrison noticed the Ulterior Motive turning, moving into a defensive position. Harrison folded his arms and was deep in thought...he had used that tactic before as well, but only to call in reinforcements. Harrison figured that is what Kolya was planning. Harrison contacted the fleet. Harrison: I don't know if anyone else is seeing this but it looks like Admiral Kolya is trying to call in reinforcements. Recommend all ships go on defensive maneuvers!

[Kairu]

Cochraine heard Harrison's broadcast. Cochraine: "You heard the Admiral. Helm, bring us into a defensive position. Keep us facing forward." Cochraine turned her attention to the officer manning the weapons. Cochraine: "If you see an opportunity to fire, do so unless otherwise instructed not to." Bridge Officer: "Aye aye, Captain." The Infinity's Voyage turned and adjusted its nose to face the Ulterior Motive.

[Erex]

Tylan sits in his captains chair. Tylan: Any news on orders? Romanov: None sir. Tylan: Ok, then we wait some more. Meanwhile Seth: Did you hear that? Fola: Ya.. Seth: Find it and kill it if its not Black Squadron. Fola: roger that. Fola goes and finds what it was, it was an injured Marine. Fola: So sorry buddy.. Fola pulls out his Automag and fires a round in his head. Fola: Taken care of.

[Naked Crook]

Damien: Sir...I have managed to signal some of our ships. I have received an acknowledgement...and their ETA is 5 minutes. Kolya nodded. Kolya: Understood...keep our distance. Let ONI make the first move. I am not going to budge this ship until I absolutely have to. Kolya paused. Kolya: Keep our weapons hot...and ready to fire at a moments notice. Meanwhile: Burke looked at the holomap of the system as saw how The Ulterior Motive was now in a defensive stance. Burke: If this bastard is calling in reinforcements...this battle is going to become a lot more complicated than it needs to be. Burke paused for a moment to think. He then walked over to the comms station and broadcasted a message to the other ships in the battle group. Burke: This is Admiral Burke. If The Ulterior Motive is calling in for backup...I recommend we engage with all ships. We should not squander this opportunity to take this SOB down. Burke paused. Burke: However...I maintain that we must keep at least one ship on defense near Midnight to continue providing support. We have no idea how many ships, or of what class The Ulterior Motive is calling in...so it is my recommendation that The Draco and The Crimson Shadow move forward and engage The Trust right away Burke paused. Burke: In the mean time...Captain Cochraine and I will continue to engage The Ulterior Motive.

[Hells Sniper]

Harrison received the transmission from Admiral Burke, he looked at Shadow and nodded. Harrison: Bring the station up to full alert! All hands to battle stations. I want every gun up and running by the time we are facing the Ulterior Motive. Prepare the MAC. Harrison turned to his command terminal and looked at the readout. Harrison: Scramble the longsword and Sabre teams, get them out there! The Crimson Shadow went to full alert. Sailors ran to their stations, pilots ran to their ships, and the entire bridge team was flying across the deck, preparing the systems. Shadow: We will be ready to fire in a few moments. Harrison: Shadow, get me a lock on the Ulterior Motive! Shadow: Aye, aye, Admiral!

[Erex]

Tylan: Acknowledge Admiral. Move this ship now, all gunners get thoses guns blazing the moment we are in range. The Draco moves forward towards the Ulterior Motive as fast as her engines could, at maximum capacity the Draco moves closer and closer to the ship. Gunner: Ulterior Motive is in range. Tylan: Open Fire, try to not hit our own. The gunners opened fire.

[Naked Crook]

Kolya looked at the holomap, and saw The Draco making a run right at The Ulterior Motive, shooting past the rest of the ONI Battlegroup. Trust Officer: Sir...we have a ship coming right at us... The Trust Officer laughed. Trust officer: It is the Draco again... Kolya shook his head. Kolya: Again...after that pasting we gave his ship at Paris IV? I guess that idiot never learned what fleet support means. He doesn't even know how to command a Destroyer... Trust Officer: Sir...he has moved passed support range of the other ONI ships...he is on a direct course. He is opening fire. The Draco is opening up with Archer missiles and his point defense guns. Kolya: Return the favor in spades. Prep all odd numbered archer pods. Prepare for a narrow field dispersal pattern. I want that ship surrounded in missiles...and by the time they detonate, every inch of The Draco better be smashed and broken. Destroy that pathetic ship. Keep our main deck guns lock on the other ONI ships. As soon as they move forward...cut them down. The Ulterior Motive fired off a fully volley of Archer missiles at The Draco. Hundreds of Archer Missiles flew towards their target, first by spreading out, and then by clsing in on The Draco from all sides, rendering any type of evasion, impossible. Trust Officer: 15 seconds till impact... Kolya: 15 seconds before The Draco is a dim echo in a long forgotten memory... Meanwhile: Burke watched in horror as The Draco sped by the entire Battle group and charged right at The Ulterior Motive. Burke: What is that idiot doing? He didn't even group up with the battle group...he just moved right in...alone...a single outclassed target for a super ship...he is gonna get himself killed! Burke frowned. He glared at his helmsman. Burke: Get us in there...full speed! Burke then looked at his tactical officer. Burke: Get every weapon ready! We have to get i there before The Ulterior Motive destroys Tylan! The Dreadhawk came about at breakneck speeds, moving right at The Ulterior Motive and The Draco. ONI Officer: Sir...The Ulterior Motive has fired on The Draco. There are over 250 Archer Missiles moving towards The Draco. The Draco will not survive sir... Burke looked at the officer. Burke: Time till impact? ONI Officer: 15 seconds sir... Burke: How long until we can get a posative and clear lock on those Archer Missiles with our point defense guns in order to shoot them down in rapid succession? ONI Officer: 9 seconds...that gives us 6 seconds to spare...but it is a wide field dispersal pattern. We will only be able to hit a little more than half due to the limitations of our firing arcs. Burke: Understood! Bring the point defenses online! Target all Archer Missiles on The Ulterior Motive. Once we go in, we are going in hot. If we can scare The Ulterior Motive away, if only for a few moments, the better off we will be. Burke Paused. Burke: Target all point defense guns on the Archer Missiles approaching from their port side. Adjust our vector to take us on the starboard side...and brace for impact... ONI Officer: Sir? Burke: We MIGHT be able to survive multiple impacts like that...The Draco defiantly won't. ONI Officer: Aye sir... Burke began to think to himself. Burke: That moron better appreciate what I am about to do for him. The Dreadhawk had moved into range of the Archer Missiles. All of the autocannons on The Dreadhawk cut loose against the Archer Missiles closing in on The Draco from the port side. The Archer Missiles from The Draco's starboard side, however, were still on course. The Dreadhawk moved into the path of the starboard Archer Missiles and began to take multiple impacts on their own starboard side in order to prevent the destruction of The Draco. All while this was going on, The Dreadhawk had cut loose with every Archer Missile it had, opening fire on The Ulterior Motive. The starboard side of The Dradhawk had taken serious damage, suffering multiple hull breaches and heavy structural damage, but the ship was still in tact. Burke: Damage report! ONI Officer: We have taken extensive structural damage to the starboard side...but The Draco is still in one piece, having suffered no damage. The ONI Officer paused. ONI Officer: We managed to hit The Ulterior Motive with a sizable volley...damaging the ablative armor on their port bow. They are moving back...and coming about... The officer paused. ONI Officer: Coming about...because there are several slip space ruptures forming. Confirmed...4 additional Trust ships have entered the system. One Phoenix class, two Frigates, and a Destroyer. The officer paused again. Burke: Bring all weapons back to full...target all enemy ships, commence rapid fire of all weapons. Throw everything we have at them. Signal the rest of the battle group...tell them we need a hand right away!

[Erex]

The Draco stops full and moves towards the fleet. Tylan: Helmsman what the hell was that? Helmsman: Sorry sir, Tylan: You are relieved. Romanov take control. Romanov takes control of the helms. Tylan: Get me that fleet. Brace for impact! Tylan sees Burke's vessel take the hits. Tylan: Admiral thank you, my helmsman kept moving, he has since been removed from his post. We are in position of the Battlegroup.
