Tye nodded.
Tyber: Alright...wait here Jacob.
Tye turned to Sergai and Cameron.
Tyber: I want you two to head down to where our forces have gathered, and make yourselves seen. It will help with the morale boost, and get some of our people back on their feet.
Cameron: Right away.
Cameron looked at Sergai, and gestured for Sergai to follow. Cameron led Sergai to the same rooftop staircase access that Jacob came from, and led Sergai down into the building, to the inside of Regional HQ Bravo.
Tye turned back to Jacob.
Tyber: I'll go grab those two guys in the Vulture.
Concurrently:
Nighthawk was busy digging through a black case. He pulled a small device out of this case, and turned back to Anaconda.
Nighthawk: This is what we need...right here.
Anaconda: What is that?
Nighthawk: It is a data-uplink. Simply put...you pysically interface this device with an available bus on a large mainframe...and it will allow me to data mine the SHIT out of the mainframe it is attached to.
Anaconda: But...we need access to the mainframe...
Nighthawk: That is where you come in. You have the active camo, as such, you would have the easiest time getting close to the mainframe without being spotted.
Anaconda grunted.
Nighthawk: Don't worry...it is really easy...plug and play...
Anaconda grunted again. This was a groan of submission, as if he was agreeing to an idea that he didn't totally agree with.
Nighthawk: Don't worry...it is really easy...nothing too technical.
Anaconda: Fine. I just...hate technical.
Nighthawk: I know. You prefer the more violent aspect of the job.
Anaconda: You said it.
Anaconda paused. He heard someone coming.
Nighthawk saw Anaconda's body language. He turned around, and faced the exit hatch of The Vulture, and saw Tye.
Tyber: You two...come on...you're in. Just...keep your noses clean...and STAY out of trouble. Don't start any shit.
Anaconda grunted.
Nighthawk: No problem. You can depend on us.
Tyber: Not really...there is really not trust between us. The only reason you guys are getting the benefit of the doubt is because the situation demands it. However...I am serious...don't start any shit.
Nighthawk: Don't worry...we won't cause any trouble.
Tyber: Good. Now, let's go.
Tye looked at the duo. He waited for their response. Nighthawk looked at Anaconda, and Anaconda looked at Nighthawk. Anaconda grunted, and then growled.
Nighthawk: It is a figure of speech. Keeping your nose clean means staying out of trouble,
Anaconda grunted and nodded.
Tye noticed the exchange between the two.
Tyber: How do you...
Nighthawk: How do I understand him?
Tyber: Yeah. I have never seen anything like that.
Nighthawk: Well...I have picked up his language out of necessity. I understand MOST of it...however...there are some things beyond my undersanding. Some of what he says is beyond my understanding because I lack the...physiology to understand.
Tyber: The physiology?
Nighthawk: The Human sense of smell sucks. Lets leave it at that.
Tyber: Right...
Tye shook his head, and turned. He walked off, heading back to where Jacob was.
Nighthawk and Anaconda followed. When Nighthawk came face to face with Jacob, he laughed.
Nighthawk: Well, well, well...look who we have here. Jacob, my friend! How is your leg? I hope I didn't case any...permanent damage?
Meanwhile:
The Ulterior Motive was still monitoring the situation. They were still under stealth, and they were observing Harrison's retreat order.
Yates: Director Spender...Harrison's fleet is falling back...away from the planet!
Spender turned to face Yates.
Spender: Excellent! Good! It seems things are getting back on track with limited intervention!
Yates: Agreed.
Spender: However...the situation could quickly degrade. Admiral Harrison would not order a retreat if he had no intention of rallying his current forces for a counter-attack.
Yates: Do you think so?
Spender: I know so. Harrison can be a...stubborn man. Sooner or later..he is going to mess everything up. We must make sure that does not happen.
Yates: How are we going to do that?
Spender: What we are going to need...is a bit of...indirect intervention...
