(Completely new entry)
A boy and his mother were in Wal-mart for their usual grocery shopping. They go to the next town over since it's far less crowded than where they live. They finished their shopping, the boy happy as can be. Slightly dancing, mouthing to his favourite songs, not having any care in the world. They proceeded up to busy registers and they start to pick out the smallest lane, which closed off just after them. The boy first noticed the cover of "Cosmopolitan" and he, at first didn't recognize the celebrity on the front. It wasn't until right after he asked his mother who she thought it was, that he realized it was Julia Stiles. The line slowly moved forward and the next issue that caught his eye was the latest "TIME" magazine, on the cover was the 10 Year Tribute to Dale Earnhardt Sr. The boy and his mother couldn't believe how fast 10 years really was.
After he googled the dispute about when he died and if it was truly 10 years, his eyes caught a girl, about his age, shoulder-length brown hair, wearing aviators and looking at something on the opposite side of the magazine rack. At first, the shy boy didn't think much of it, since, by now, he was plenty use to seeing chicks who were fairly attractive. When him and his mom being rung up by the cashier, he noticed her and her family being rung up in the next lane also. Both the boy, and the girl, were putting the filled up bags in their respective shopping carts. In a moment that seemed frozen in time, the boy could see her eyes through the shades and they made eye contact.
To his dismay, he knew the girl. He knew her from his 6th period geometry class at a different school in his freshman year. But what happened in that classroom, and at that school was far from pleasant. Four years prior, during his freshman year, about six weeks into the new school year, he was obsessed with a girl. This girl he liked blew him off and rejected him time after time. The boy got so fed up with it he made a death threat on her life. At the time, he didn't say anything to anyone, he was just red in the face from the fury and tears in his eyes during lunch. When lunch was over, it was time for geometry. He respected the teacher and confided in her wisdom and judgment and he told the teacher his feelings. The teacher, acting as a teacher, sent him to guidance and he later stayed overnight in a looney-bin for juveniles.
Now this girl from Wal-mart, a previously special individual to him, was looking at him. He remembered why he had more respect for her than anybody else at the school, and it was because she actually treated him like a human being, unlike anyone else. When the boy broke eye contact with this girl, he realized that she recognized him. On the entire car ride, the boy was crying inside and his heart broke again, his pride and dignity he had established years after that incident shattered again. His nightmare he had tried so hard to suppress and forget was coming back to life. He sat in his room that night, before going to bed, wishing he had said something, maybe even just apologized. But his worrying must have stopped when he finished writing it down and he fell asleep, hoping he'd have enough of it for the rough day at work in the morning.
