Dancar looked at the the large vault door. He saw all the equipment behind a a dense energy shield. Dancar: An energy shield...that isn't human technology... Vernette: Nope...it isn't. However...it works as a really good security system. Vernette typed a few more commands and the energy shield shut down. Vernette walked over to all the equipment and folded his arms. Vernette: Here it is...all of it...from the BDU to the weapons. It is all here...in perfect shape. Dancar looked at the equipment before him. He grunted. Dancar: When I was a cub...I often heard stories about how Brutes would inherit the armor, the weapons, or the status of their fathers. It was often a very proud moment...and now I understand how it feels... Tye looked at Dancar. Tyber: Sounds like this is really deep for you... Dancar: For you...this is an assignment...for me...this is following in my fathers footsteps. You can say this means a lot to me... Tyber: Well...I can say this for sure; You are definatly motivated to do a good job...

Tylan:Romanov when will we need drop out of slip? Romanov: I think an hour or two

Hayes: James...lets not worry about how we are going to get you onto the front lines. The King Raven has been specially equipped to get up close and personal to deploy soldiers onto enemy ships. Hayes paused. Hayes: But James...going after Kolya directly is what, well...what Kolya wants. He wants you to come after him. He hurt you, he hurt your colony...and nothing would bring him more pleasure than to send your body back to Aurigae VI in a casket. As much as we are angry about what happened...we cannot give him the satisfaction of knowing that he is getting to you...getting to us. If he knows that you are losing your mind over what happened...he will attack your world again...and again...until he utterly destroys you, your world, or both. Going after him at this stage of the game is playing right into his hand. If you really want to hurt him...you disassemble his organization piece by piece...member by member...ship by ship...ideology by ideology...until his organization has been stripped down to that rotten and dead core. A that point...you slowly gut it...and at the moment of the death of The Trust....you drag it out...make them suffer as long as possible. Hayes paused. Hayes: That is called justice...in its purest and strongest form. It is one of the most difficult things to wait for...but when it comes to those who deserve it...it is...beyond words... Meanwhile: Dancar: I always strive to be at my best...despite who I am trying to impress... Dancar paused. He grunted. Tye Shrugged as he looked at Vernette. Tyber: So Preston...tell me...why us? Why did you pick Danny Boy and I to be your replacements? Dancar looked at Tye. The grunt he let out was one of confusion. He did not understand the nickname that was just given to him. Vernette: I think you just confused the hell out of your partner... Tyber: What? Vernette: That sound he just made...that grunting noise...that was his was of saying that he was confused about something. My guess is, is that he was confused as to why you called him Danny Boy... Dancar: That is exactly it... Tyber: Its a nickname...he can give me one if he wants. Correct me if I am wrong Preston...but you nicknamed Barrabus "Big Guy" Vernette: This is true... Dancar: I noticed that on occasion. That name makes sense...mine does not... Tyber: Fine...I'll think of a new one Dancar: Yes...do that... Vernette tried to stop himself from laughing. He let out a snicker. Tyber: Anyway Preston...why us? Vernette regained his composure. Vernette: Well...you two are both highly skilled in your fields. The fact of the matter is...you have the right skill sets. I could of asked Archer and Mordecai to do the replacement role again...but I have lost confidence in their abilities...compounded by the fact that they are both missing...AWOL...cannot be found. There is no way in hell...not even in Covenant hell...that I would supply jack shit to someone who just picks up and vanishes. Besides...Archer and Mordecai...a boy trapped in a mans body with serious mommy issues...and a merc that only listened when his muzzle had food in it...they blew their cover...they were sloppy...they got injured to the point of being unable to resume their mission...I could do worse...but not by much. Vernette paused. Vernette: Tye...you trained with ODST Black Team...you were part of ODST Black Team...you are qualified to do this. Vernette paused. he looked at Dancar. Vernette: As for you...well...I am sure you are at the point you could kill someone with your tongue if need be. You are an expert at killing with serious class and silence...that is all I need to know... Vernette folded his arms. Vernette: You two are refined soldiers...you have no issues...you are focused...that is what I need. You two are perfect for this. Dancar: You want dependable soldiers...I can appreciate that. Tyber: Same here...

[Kairu]

James: "I'm sorry, Sir, it's just.... Those civilians didn't deserve their fate. And with how elusive the Trust have been, that "justice" will take time. I wouldn't want to have that time go on and another planet suffer the same fate as Aurigae VI. No doubt there are numerous orphans on Aurigae VI now, orphans you would have never been if the Trust didn't attack."

Romanov: Tylan sir we are nearing the system Tylan: Very good.

[Hells Sniper]

Shadow: Agent Sharpmen...Admiral Harrison has prepped a pelican for you in hangar bay 4. Shadow spoke over the comms in the HEV Bay. Jacob: No drop, Shadow? Shadow: Not today, Agent. Jacob nodded and left the pod. He grabbed his gear and headed to hangar bay 4.

[Erex]

Tylan: All sabre squadrons report to Hangar bay we will once we drop will fight any fightercraft coming from the Trust. I repeat all Sabre squadrons report to hangar bay this is not a drill.

Hayes: James...I will do almost everything in my power to get that justice today...but I will not needlessly sacrifice men and women to rush things that we cannot be patient about. I would rather walk away from the coming battle without losing a single man or woman if it means only dealing a single blow to The Trust. If I had to sacrifice half the lives on this ship just to get Kolya...one man...I would never do it. It is not worth it! With vigilance...we can prevent a future attack...and we can secure oursevles while patience plays its part. Hayes paused. Hayes: If we play our cards right...this day will maark a decisive victory for us...and the first requiem bell for The Trust... At that moment, The King Raven and the rest of the fleet dropped out of slip space. ONI Officer: Ready full stop in the Paris IV system. Meanwhile: Vernette: I am glad you two agree with me on this notion. Archer and Mordecai...I placed a lot of faith in them...gave them every chance I could...but they let me down. They got compromised...and they got sloppy. Part of it was my fault however. I went into it thinking they were prepared...prepared to handle what I was asking of them...what I expected them to live up to. My mistake was that I didn't train them well enough...I didn't tell them enough what I had been through...why I did what I did... Vernette trailed off. Vernette: I digress...I never make the same mistake twice. Vernette grinned. Vernette: You two are going to be prepared for everything that can possibly be thrown at you. I am going to make sure I get it right the second time! Tyber: Yeah? What is that going to involve? How are you going to get us more prepared than we already are? Dancar: I am curious about this as well. Vernette laughed. Vernette: You have both seen your fair share of fighting...of bad and shitty circumstances...and I am sure both of you knows what it means to rely on others to watch your back. I am sure both of you know what teamwork is... Both Tye and Dancar nodded. Vernette: Well...that notion of teaamwork is bullshit. Teamwork is when two people work together for a common goal...that is all good and swell until the shit hits the fan. Teamwork falls apart when it is placed under stress. People break...their minds cannot handle the stress of things falling apart around them. Vernette paused. Vernette: Barrabus and I...we never worked as a team...we worked synergistically. It got to the point...that at any second during battle...I knew where he was, what he was doing, what he was planning to do, what he would never dream of doing, and what he was prepared to do. We knew everything about each other...it was the only way to ever reach that...ascended state of mind where every action was just...implied...where instinct was always right. THAT...that is what you two must build between each other. Vernette paused. Vernette: Your success and your failure...will be measured by how much you two trust each other. The beginning of that trust is marked by your ability to get every distraction out of the way. If there is something you hate...you dispise...you utterly are revolted by...you say it...and you better be sure as hell ready to take whatever comes at you next. It may tke hours...even days to rip each other apart...but that is the first thing you do. When it is all said and done...when that smoke clears...the only thing that will be left...will be two individuals with a pure product in hand...respect. That is when the real bonding begins. You two are not going to be friends...friends are for losers...friends are for jackasses who can't take the real challeneges in life. Friendship is a flimsy bridge made of rope and wood that bridges two radically different individuals together. I don't have friends...I have people who I have nothing but respect for. Sometimes I treat these people like shit...othertimes...with dignity...but they always have my respect...and true respect is indestructible. Nothing can shatter, dent, or even scratch respect! Ideas may be bulletproof...but respect...true respect, that is, is like I said...indestructible... Vernette paused for a moment. He placed his hands behind his back. Vernette: If you have ever wondered why Barrabus and I have such a strong bond...there is your answer. Vernettte fell silent. Vernette: I have never told this to anybody...because this is so personal...so... Vernette shook his head. Vernette: Can't even describe it... Tye sighed. Tyber: I don't know what to say. It is like commenting on... Tye paused for a moment. Tyber: Damn...I dunno if I can even put what I am thinking into words... Dancar grunted. He looked at Tye. Dancar: i never knew humans too such things this seriously. I never believed humans were this passionate about the bond between pack brothers. THis gives me a new found respect for your kind...

Tylan goes to the Medical Bay Tylan: I'm gonna need a stimulant to keep me up, I've been awake for last 48 hours. Please give me something caffienated. I'm gonna need it. Doctor: you need sleep Tylan: I'm fully aware of that but we are about to go into battle and if I'm asleep during that? Doc: I fully understand here The Doctor injects Tylan with a caffiene stimulant to keep him awake Doc: This will boost you for about another 5 to 8 hours. But I cannot give you another if you need it or you will overdose. Tylan: Understood

[Kairu]

James' face let out a look of disappointment. James: "Very well, Sir. I understand. I'll get the team and I ready in the hangar bay. We'll be ready for deployment in a moment's notice." James turned and before walking off of the bridge, he stopped to say one last thing. James: "And Sir? Give them as much Hell as possible. And Godspeed, Sir." James walked off the bridge and trotted to the hangar bay.
