Black 1: Copy that. You should know that we have a confirmed sighting of your two most favorite celebrities. They are closing in. Be advised...you may run into them if you are unlucky enough. We can try and cut them off if you are concerned about your timing. The fact is...your priority is that terminal...above all else. All you have to do is make it to the roof. If you are on 27...that is just another 30 floors to go.
Black 1 paused.
Black 1: If you think you can get out before Nighthawk and Anaconda will find you, if they even find you, then do let us know. Black Team and I do have a bit of a personal score to settle with someone in particular.
Meanwhile:
Nighthawk's Warthog and The Scorpion Tank that Cameron was driving was on the final approach to the Apex Applied Research Building. The two vehicles pulled up into the plaza in front of the large building, and both vehicles came to a stop. The Plaza was deserted. The were sand bags and gun turrets set up...but from the looks of it, there were no hostile contacts.
Tye looked out the front of the Warthog, and scanned the area.
Tyber: Is anyone getting anything on your HUD? Any movement or hostile contacts?
Cameron smoke up over the comm.
Cameron: Negative sir...Scorpion Tank is not detecting anything on sensors.
Nighthawk exited his Warthog, as Anaconda jumped off, his feet hiting the concrete below, cracking it.
Nighthawk began to step forward, as he looked around.
Nighthawk: I am getting nothing. It almost looks as if The Trust just abandoned this position. I guess they were counting on destroying The Tank so they could use the gun turrets to finish off any stragglers on foot.
Tye exited the Warthog, and paced back and forth.
Tyber: That is a reasonable guess.
Anaconda stepped forward, and took a few steps past Nighthawk. He knelt down as he lowered his head to the ground. Nighthawk looked down at Anaconda. Anaconda began to sniff around.
Nighthawk: Smell anything?
Anaconda did not answer right away, as he moved his head back and forth, sniffing around.
Anaconda: I smell something...
Nighthawk: Care to enlighten us?
Anaconda: Humans...
Nighthawk: Really?
Anaconda turned his head and growled in response to the sarcasm.
Nighthawk: Ohhh...common. Don't be like that. I'm kidding. Can you be more specific?
Anaconda: There were Humans here...but the scent has dissipated. The trail leads that way...
Anaconda pointed right at the main entrance to the Apex Applied Research building.
Nighthawk: Any guess on how many Trust Operatives there were?
Anaconda took several more sniffs, before he spoke again.
Anaconda: 20...perhaps 30...it is tough to say with that many distinct scents I am getting.
Tyber: You can pick apart that many distinct smells?
Anaconda: If I was alone...I could do more. Some of the more localized scents are interfering.
Tyber: Localized?
Nighthawk: He means us.
Anaconda stood up, and gave a grunt.
Anaconda: They are inside...that is all you need to know.
Tyber: Good enough for me.
Tye turned to the Scorpion Tank, and began to speak to Cameron.
Tyber: Cameron...commence Operation: "Make a door for us to walk through"...target The Apex Applied Research Building...ideally the main lobby...so...dead ahead.
Just as Tye had said this, the turret on the Scorpion Tank began to move, as it targeted the main doors of the Apex Applied Research building.
Tyber: Watch for falling debris!
Everyone waited. After a moment, The Scorpion Tank fired a shell at the main doors, blowing a massive hole in the spot where the doors were. The shell exploded with great force, destroying the entire lobby upon impact, and shattering dozens and dozens of windows on the building. The powerful vibrations ran up the sides of the building, as windows shattered on multiple floors from the impact.
Cameron: Your door is ready Tye.
Just as Cameron had finished saying this, he pushed the lid of the tank open, as he jumped out. He reached back into the tank and grabbed his Assault Rifle, and readied it.
Cameron: I take it I am on point for this one?
Tye laughed.
Tyber: You must be a telepath Cam. You're on point. Harmony, Jesse, you guys are watching the six.
Tye then looked at Nighthawk and Anaconda.
Tyber: As for you two...whatever you need to do...do it with impunity. The more damage, the better.
Nighthawk: Rest assured...we are going to do a lot of damage.
Tyber: Hallelujah!
Anaconda looked at Nighthawk, and let out a grunt, almost quizzically. Nighthawk looked back at Anaconda.
Nighthawk: It means "God be praised".
Anaconda: Ohhh. Too bad it didn't mean "bloody death to your enemies". That would have been very appropriate.
Meanwhile:
Xyrho nodded.
Xyrho: Then that is all you need to concern yourself with Vhat.
Xyrho paused.
Xyrho: If there is nothing else...I need both of you to report to the Hanger Bay.
