[Hells Sniper]

Jacob broke off from the main group of banished and brought his Saber around to hit them from the side. Once Black 3 and 4 were clear of the banished, Jacob unloaded the full strength of his chainguns; cutting down a few Banshees in the process. Jacob smiled as he flew by the chainguns automatically reloaded. Meanwhile: Harrison stood on board the bridge and looked around. Most of his crew was at work, but he knew something was up about this Saber team...And so did his crew. He wanted an update from Captain Frost and Commander Vernette, but no matter how many times he hailed them, he got an excuse. Harrison wasn't happy about that and he was even more upset at the fact that no one wanted to give the FLEET commander information concerning the protection of San Angeles, mostly those from Frosts' crew. All he could do for now was bide his time and hope that he would get the information soon. Hopefully, his ground teams would be able to get the AA guns back up to secure the city.

[Naked Crook]

Black 1 and Black 2 flew in formation, as they began to mop up the final banshees in their immediate airspace. While Black 1 and Black 2 were in the middle of this, Black Team began to get a message on their comm frequency. Black Team began to communicate via the comm line. Black 2: Boss...we have an incoming message... Black 1: From who? There was silence over the comms for a brief moment. Black 2: Apex Applied Research. Black 1: Damn it. Patch it through. Black 1 waited a moment, and then began to speak. Black 1: Sir...you caught us at a really bad time. Admiral Hoffman: I am fully aware of you current situation Black Team. However, we have a pressing matter to attend to. Black 1: What seems to be the problem? Admiral Hoffman: I am sure you are fully aware of how The Covenant have shifted their focus to this neck of the woods? Black 1: Fully aware... Admiral Hoffman: Well...the timing could not be worse. As we speak, we have finally managed to repair and re-initialize the the device we found. We believe it is ready to be transported...but...we will require reinforcements if we are to move it. Black 1: We are predisposed at the moment! We will not be able to be there in any short order. However...if you contact Spender...I am sure he can find someone to bolster your ranks. Black 1 paused. Black 1: I know The Risk Takers are on The Ulterior Motive. I also know that Nova Team and "The Consultant" are available on The Ulterior Motive as well. I am sure Spender could deploy either team to help. Admiral Hoffman: "The Consultant"? No thanks. I have enough of her "soldiers" down here. I don't need any more. I barely trust Division 7 as it is. They just rub me the wrong way. I will see if I can get The Risk Takers. Hoffman paused. Admiral Hoffman: I think a Spartan deployment would be best in the end...just in case we get...unwanted attention from you know who. Black 1: I suggest going with The Risk Takers. No matter, however, Black Team and I should be available shortly. Once we clear up the airspace in these parts...we will hit the surface and rendezvous with you at Apex Applied Research...provide you have not already left. Admiral Hoffman: Fair enough Black 1. Continue on. Hoffman out. Hoffman closed the comm line. As the line went dead, Black 1 rolled his eyes. Black 1: That guy has the worst timing. Black 1 paused. He then spoke up, talking directly to Black Team and Jacob. Black 1: Let's pick up the pace. Let's get the skies clear. Once this is done, we are going to be hitting the surface.

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob chimed in on the radio. Jacob: The surface? I thought we were staying in the air? Jacob didn't necessarily like the idea of hitting the surface with Black team, apecially since he was still feeling the effects of the last few engagements he had been in. He was struggling as he was, he didn't want to add to the pressure. Meanwhile: Suicide Squad had officially transferred the remaining members of Omega Legion into their squad and were loading up into a pelican for deployment to the ground.

[Naked Crook]

Black 1: We may have little choice in the matter. Our mission on San Angeles depends heavily on securing the equipment at the Apex Applied Research building. The mote force we have down there...the better off we will be. If we can supplement our forces down there in short-order...we should make every effort to do so. Black 1 paused. Black 1: If that building comes under attack...we will need to defend it. These Sabers are good for aero combat...but that is about it. We may be forced to land. Hopefully...that won't be a problem with you. Is it going to be a problem Jacob? Are you feeling a bit worn down? Do you need a break? Perhaps...rest? If so...you are out of luck. Meanwhile: Spender, who was aboard The Ulterior Motive, was on the bridge. He was keeping tabs on all current engagements on and around San Angeles. While he had his eye on the Holotable, he heard the familiar sound of an incoming transmission. Comm Officer: Sir...we have an incoming message from the surface...from the AAP building. Spender turned his chair to face the front of the bridge. Spender: Patch it through. Spender watched as one of the large screens powered on and displayed a live feed from Hoffman's office in the Apex Applied Reseqrch building. Spender: Hoffman...what do I owe the pleasure? Hoffman: Spender...I am going to require some...extra security. We are now ready to move the asset. Spender nodded. Spender: I can deploy Nova Team to assist. They have been itching to get in some time as of late. I ALMOST feel bad about keeping them on the ship for so long... Spender paused. Spender: Almost... Hoffman sighed. Hoffman: Ideally...I would prefer to have The Risk Takers. A Spartan company would be...insurmountable. Spender took reached into his jacket pocket, and pulled out a tin of cigarettes. As he did this, he spoke. Spender: It seems to me that you are expecting trouble. Are you? Hoffman was silent for a moment. Hoffman: I just want to be sure that IF Nighthawk and Anaconda show up...we are prepared. I doubt Nova Team has what it takes to fight those two. The Risk Takers do. Spender: On that we can agree. Very well Hoffman...I will check the status of The Risk Takers and I will deploy them ASAP. Hoffman: Much appreciated. Hoffman out. The channel closed. Spender took a drag of his cigarette as he considered the reprocussions of failiure in this instance. The more he thought about it, the more he was convinced that the deployment of The Risk Takers was the right move.

Jacob kept his composure, he was getting a lot of information, but he needed to keep playing this. Jacob: No, no. I'm fine don't you worry. I can keep up. Jacob paused as he tracked down a banshee and unloaded his chaingun. Jacob: What if the city comes under attack again? We can't just leave it defenseless.

[Naked Crook]

Black 1: We are not here to save the city Jacob...we are here to save the civilians Black 1 paused. Black 1: Onced we have evacuated the civilians...there is very little point in wasting resources on trying to save empty buildings...save for one, of course. Black 1 paused again. He adjusted his heading, and turned his saber to engage a group of banshees. As he locked on his targets, he continued to speak. Black 1: The Trust is about ruthless efficiency...nothing more. We do what we have to do, and we don't bother with anything else. Once we get those transports off the ground and get them into orbit...we are hitting the surface. There is too much at stake NOT to hit the ground after this is all said and done. Meanwhile: Spender was on the bridge of The Ulterior Motive. He had finished smoking his cigarette, as he ashed it out. Once he had done this, he accessed the comm system, and contacted Novak. Spender: Spender to Novak...do you copy? Novak: Novak here sir? What can I do for you? Spender: Where are the Risk Takers? Novak: I dismissed the to the lab. They are currently being patched up by the automated surgery suites. They sustained injuries in their last engagement. Spender: Can they walk? Novak: Of course. Spender: Good enough. No matter their current state...I need them at the Apex Applied Research building...pronto. Vanguard's Terminal is down there, and it has been fully repaired. We need to bring it back here, to The Ulterior Motive so we can pair it up with the hardware we recovered previously. Novak: Understood...I will let them know. Spender: Do that! Spender...out!

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob nodded as he fired his chainguns and took out another banshee. He adjusted his heading and looked out his window. Jacob: Roger that. Looks like a few of the evac shuttles are about to head out now. AA guns still unoperational. Jacob adjusted his heading as he watched one of the evacuation shuttles lift off. Jacob: I'm moving to cover the shuttle out of the atmosphere, hopefully they'll hit UNSC controlled space to take them the rest of the way. Meanwhile: Harrison was still on the bridge, keeping an eye out on the status of his ground teams and other operational bases. Harrison: Status of the city? Officer: AA guns still down, perimeter is secured however. Banshee are being kept at bay from that unknown Saber team, sir. The first evacuation shuttles are leaving air space now, currently no escort. Harrison nodded. Harrison: Get our remaining destroyers on an escort path, scramble the remaining longswords they have left. I want those shuttles secured and that city evacuated immediately! Harrison turned to another officer. Harrison: ETA of our AA teams? Officer: Six teams on their way, four minutes til target, all teams green.

Black 1 and Black 2 had regrouped, as they took down the final banshees in their immediate area. Black 1 and Black 2 then adjusted their heading, as they flew towards the transport ships. Black 1: Jacob...watch that you are not intercepted by The UNSC. Do not get yourself within striking distance of any UNSC ship. We do not need their meddling. Meanwhile: Back on The Ulterior Motive, Novak had proceeded to the lab to find The Risk Takers. Once he had entered the lab, he spotted Liam. Novak called out to Liam, as he approached him. Novak: Liam! As much as I hate to say this...you are being re-deployed. You are to gear up, with your entire team, and proceed to the Apex Applied Research building in New Havannah. You are to report directly to Admiral Hoffman. He requires your help in order to fully secure one of our assets...a vital and critical asset... Novak paused. Novak: Your team has to deploy right away. Any outstanding injuries will have to wait. Get your team on their feet and ready to move.

[Hells Sniper]

Jacob nodded, even though Black 1 couldn't see him. He knew what he was doing. Jacob: Roger that, once I know that the transport is clear, I'll break off. Jacob flew up to the side of the transport and could see inside the cockpit. He saw two pilots, both of which looked at him and nodded. His face was covered in his, the only thing visible was his ODST helmet. Jacob smiled and sent off an impromptu salute to the two pilots. He kept a close eye on his radar to watch for any bogies. As they broke the atmosphere, Jacob could see UNSC destroyers lining up on an escort pattern, and eventually, he saw dozens of longswords scrambling out of the destroyers. Meanwhile: Liam, who was busy going over the latest Nighthawk and Anaconda reports looked up as he saw Novak entered. His helmet was off, as the rest of his team were either in the automatic surgery suites or repairing their weapons and equipment. Liam cocked an eyebrow at Novak when he finished talking. Liam: Expecting unwanted visitors Doc? Liam chuckled a bit and looked around. Savannah and Desmond were already helping Jessica back into her armor, the Spartan III's doing the same. Liam: We'll be at the launch bay in three minutes. And we will see the Admiral as soon as we land.

[Naked Crook]

Novak nodded. Novak: We are going to drop you off on the roof of the building. We want you to meet with Hoffman ASAP. Novak paused. Novak: Be mindful down there. Apex Applied Research is where a lot of our tech is designed and manufactured. As such...there is a very heavy Division 7 presence there. While the facility is controlled by The Board...the very nature of the work done by Division 7 tends to be...very...different. Division 7 is a highly secrative R&D branch and many of its members forego names and identities to remain hidden. People, like The Consultant, are very serious about their privacy. My advice to you would be to avoid questions and do only what you have to do. Novak paused. Novak: I know this seems odd...but...this is just how it is. Not many people get to directly interact with Division 7...and with good reason. Just stick to your mission and everything will be fine. Novak paused again. Novak: Division 7 is going to handle the tech. You guys are there to protect Hoffman, protech the tech, and engage Nighthawk and Anaconda if they show up. Novak paused. He then grinned. Novak: Also...don't poke fun of the Recons for their choice of weapons. A Recon class ODST may look funny with a sword on their back...but those swords are very deadly. Believe me...I would know.
