Black 3 scoffed, as he walked by Jacob. Black 1: Alright. I want you all to report to Hanger Bay 4. Let's move it! Black 1 turned as he walked out of the armory, leading Jacob, and the rest of Black Team down towards Hanger Bay 4. When the group had arrived, they entered the hanger bay, and saw that there were 8 Sabers, all lined up, facing the main hanger bay doors. Black 3: I guess we can pick our own? There seems to be more than enough. Black 1 nodded. Black 1: That's correct. Pick a Saber, jump in the cockpit, run your preflight checks...and await orders for deployment. Each member of Black Team nodded. Black 2, Black 3, and Black 4 each walked off, and entered one of the nearest Sabers. As they did, Black 1 looked at Jacob. Black 1: Remember Jacob...we will have our eyes on you. If you try to break formation, if you try to run, if you try to even communicate with The UNSC...we will shoot you down. Black 1 paused. Black 1: I will be looking for one of two things Jacob; a reason to kill you...or a reason to vouch for you. Prey that I find the latter before I find the former. Meanwhile: Novak: The Trust invested a great deal of time and resources into you 7. The amount we spent on the 7 of you...would could have trained a legion of soldiers, built dozens of ships. We expect results. The Trust does not broker faliure. Novak paused. Novak: And neither do I. I don't care what you have to do to kill Nighthawk and Anaconda. I don't care how many people die in the crossfire. KIll as many people as you have to. Corner them. Extort them. Blackmail them. All I want is for you to get the job done. They are a threat to everything we have going on with San Angeles. Novak stepped back. Novak: If you believe that an action will assist in taking down Nighthawk and Anaconda...you are authorized to do what you need to do.You have unlimited operational flexibility when you are on the field. So far, you have been very...restrictive...with what you will do. My advice would be to learn from Black Team. Black 1 in peticular, is someone you should learn from. His methods...have been describe as barbaric, ruthless, calculating, and callous. Black 1 is the kind of man who has, on countless occassions, killed many wives, many children, and even entire families, in order to gain the necessary leverage to extort intel and subjugate his advisories. Novak paused. Novak: I will admit...Black 1 scares me at times...but I encourage everyone to be like Black 1.He knows how to get the job done, all the time, every time. He is one of our finest. He embodies the efficiency and excellence of The Trust.

Jacob nodded. Jacob: I would like to say you won't have to worry about it, but I know you will, so I won't bother. Jacob paused. Jacob: I understand the precautions, Black 1. But, I promise you, I won't let you down on this one. I know you don't trust me, or probably even like me, but I hope you can understand as one soldier to another. Jacob paused again and nodded. Jacob: I'm following orders, and they are very clear on instructions. Meanwhile: Lyle nodded. Lyle: Understood, Doctor. Lyle paused. Lyle: I'll inform my team of our new..."orders." We'll take them down, soon.

Novak: I highly recommend you have a talk with them. I believe it will do them a lot of good to know the reality of what is going on. They have to understand what they are being outwitted by. This cannot be allowed to continue. Novak paused. Novak: And remember Lyle... Novak paused again. Novak: The 7 of you were trained to fight Nighthawk and Anaconda. While it would be ideal for your team to kill those two...simply disrupting their efforts is enough to satisfy the brass. What The Board of Chairmen wants, above all else, is the ability to conduct their operations without significant interference or resistance. If you can prevent Nighthawk and Anaconda from disrupting our operations, that would be considered a success. The Trust sees the bigger picture. As long as we accomplish out goals, we don't care if you have to keep fighting, so long as you you prevent them from screwing everything up for us. Novak laughed. Novak: It is about doing what you have to do to keep those two at bay. Know how to fight your enemy, and when. It is less about deliberatly walking into traps just to fight them, and more about picking your battles on your terms, and keeping The Trust ahead of everyone else. If you can prevent Nighthawk and Anaconda from interfering, by utilizing methods that don't directly engage them...thoe are viable options. You just have to find those options. Novak paused. Novak: Nighthawk and Anaconda are working with The UNSC right now. Given the nature of who NIghthawk and Anaconda are...those two will have a liaison - someone who is briding the communication gap between the two sides. Do not be afraid to expand your list of targets to include...say...The UNSC as a whole. Novak grinned. Novak: You are authorized to kill, attack, or apprehend whoever you want, whenever you want. You do not answer to the UNSC. You do not answer to ONI. You answer to The Board of Chairmen...and they do not care about the nitty gritty of what you do. All you have to do is find the people around NIghthawk and Anaconda which facilitate their current actions...and you can cripple in new and exciting ways. Novak paused again. He cupped his hands together. Novak: Do what must be done. I cannot emphasize this enough to you. It is the only way to beat them! It is the only way to win. I assure you Lyle...Nighthawk and Anaconda also believe in doing what must be done. When those two look in the mirror...they see someone who is ready to fight, ready to kill, and ready to die. Can your team say the same thing? I would hope so. Meanwhile: Black 1 looked at Jacob for a moment, then gave him a nod. Black 1: I don't think you will ever understand the precautions. There is very little people understand about me. I have my reasons for my paranoia. The thing I care about the most...is my team. Black 1 paused. Black 1: Right now...there is an uncertain element working with my team...and I don't like it. Until I am certain about you...I am going to be watching you, and I am going to take action if I need to. Black 1 paused again. Black 1: Report to your Saber. Get the bird ready for deployment.

Lyle nodded. He knew all he really had to do was keep the duo at bay, but he so desperately wanted to end this and finish the job for the Board of Chairmen. The sooner this assignment was finished, the sooner his team could move on and help fight the Covenant. Lyle: I will be sure to talk to my team. And you can assure the Board of Chairmen that the duo will not interfere with our plans. Lyle shook his head. Lyle: We'll pull every dirty trick in the book, even if it means luring them to fight us and leave the UNSC behind, we'll do it. We'll get the job done. Meanwhile: Jacob nodded. Jacob: If there's one thing I can relate to you with, it's protecting your team...no matter the cost to you. Jacob saluted to Black 1 and nodded. Jacob: I'll see you down there, Colonel. Jacob turned away and headed towards a spare Saber. He immediately climbed in, hooked up, and began his preflight sequence. Meanwhile: Dangerus flew towards Xyrho's ship and docked in the hangar bay, before he disembarked he turned to him. Dangerus: Keep in close contact, shipmaster. If anything should go wrong, contat me immediately. And once I find word of the next human settlement, I will be sure to contact you.

Novak: Be sure that you do that. You are dismissed. Novak gestured with his hand, giving Lyle the go-ahead to return to his team. Meanwhile: Black 1 watched as Jacob entered his Saber. As soon as Jacob entered his Saber, Black 1 turned and walked towards his Saber. He climbed into the cockpit of his Saber, and started the pre-flight checks. As Black 1 finished his pre-flight checks, he contacted Jacob, and the other members of Black Team. Black 1: Alright guys...what is your current status? I am showing green across the board. Black 2: All green here. Black 3: I am in the green. Black 4: I am good to go. All systems check. Black 1 waited a moment. Black 1: What is your status Jacob? Do your systems show green? Meanwhile: Xyrho watched as the door to the Phantom opened. He jumped out of the Phantom, and looked back at Dangerus. Xyrho: I will stay in contact. I will inform you if I learn anything else that could be relevant. Xyrho nodded his head at Dangerus, as he turned and walked off, leaving the hanger bay, and entering the corridors of his ship.

Lyle nodded at Doctor Novak and made his way out of the room, heading towards the lab to meet up with the rest of the Risk-Takers. Meanwhile: Jacob had just finished up his preflight sequence. Jacob: I am all green and good to go. Meanwhile: Dangerus secured his phantom once again and made a heading for his own ship, across the field of Covenant cruisers.

Black 1: Copy that. Black 1 engaged his systems to full, as he prepared to launch. Black 1: Alright Black Team...prepare for deployment! Black 2...take point. Black 3, Black 4...take left and right flank. Jacob, you and I will fly support in the aft. Black 2 chimed in over the comm line. Black 2: Copy that Black 1. Black 2's Saber started to move forward, as it led the group, and departed from The Ulterior Motive. Black 3 and Black 4 followed suit, as their two Sabers deployed one after the other. Black 1: Jacob...you're up. Meanwhile: Xyrho returned to the bridge of his ship. However, instead of asking for a status update, he simply continued walking, and made his way directly towards his office. As Xyrho walked through the threshold of his office, the door closed behind him, and a small holotank in his office lit up. Xyrho placed his right hand on a control panel in front of the holotank. Xyrho used his hand to call up information that he required. It was not long before the holotank populated with information pertaining to Vanguard. Xyrho looked at the information, as he recalled the last time he saw this construct. Xyrho then isolated a single batch of data - Vanguard's Schematics. Xyrho scoffed, as he looked at the holographic image of Vanguard. Xyrho: Hmmm... Xyrho began to pace circles around the holotank. Xyrho: I never believed that I would ever see this thing again. Xyrho stopped in his tracks. Xyrho: How did you survive? We must have underestimated you... Xyrho clenched his fist. Xyrho: You should have been destroyed...

Jacob's Saber began to move forward with Black 1 as they would both provide cover for the other 3 members. Jacob: Copy that, moving up. Jacob pressed a few buttons on his overhead dash as he kept moving forward. He was prepping his weapon systems for engagement. Meanwhile: Dangerus arrived at his flagship and immediately docked in an open hangar bay. He disembarked immediately and moved towards his bridge, he did not stop as he entered, nor did he look at anyone. Yet, he knew Furium was on the bridge. Dangerus: Furium, to my office. Now. Dangerus kept walking past the bridge as he heard the loud footsteps of Furium walk towards him and ultimately end up behind him. The two entered his office.

Black 1 watched as Jacob's Saber departed from The Ulterior Motive. As soon as Jacob was clear, Black 1 engaged, departing the Ulterior Motive, and got into formation. Black 2: Plotting a descent trajectory...30 degree angle. Destination - New Havana. All of the sabers made the appropriate heading adjustments, as they started to go downwards towards the planet. Black 2: We will be entering the atmosphere in 5...4...3...2...1...brace... As Black 2 said this, the sabers began to pass into the atmosphere. Each of the Sabers were subject to a bit of turbulence. However, after about a minute, each of the Sabers had passed through, and were now flying in atmosphere. Black 2: In atmosphere flight confirmed. ETA to destination...4 minutes at current velocity. Long range sensors can confirm hostile hair is converging on new Havana. Orders Black 1? Black 1 chimed in over the comm. Black 1: We will need visual assessment of the hostile air. If there is a large scale presence, we will break formation, and take targets at will. Otherwise, we will maintain formation, and provide cover as necessary. So long as we can enable those evac shuttles to escape the planet...we will have gotten the job done.

Jacob pressed a few buttons on his overhead dash as he stayed in formation with Black team. It was smooth sailing for the most part, but as they approached New Havanna he saw more and more red dots blinking on his radar. Jacob: This is gonna get rocky. Jacob went through the simulations in his head again as he re-familiarized himself with all the controls. He would hope this wouldn't end in a glorious fire. Meanwhile: Dangerus entered his office and stared out into space. A few moments later he heard the heavy footsteps of Furium enter his room. Dangerus: Get our best teams ready...our most trustworthy brutes. My bodyguards, yours, the other Chieftains. Prepare them for immediate departure. Furium nodded. Furium: To where, my Chieftain? Dangerus turned. Dangerus: I do not know...yet.
