Banks: No...food is 1st class for the officers and senior staff. Everyone else gets the average stuff.

Meanwhile:

Beckett looked at Stolt and sighed.

Beckett: Have you ever heard the old saying...an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?

Beckett grabbed a pair of laytex gloves and began to examine the injury.

Beckett: That seems to apply here MC...

Banks: Hmmm...well...he may not of known that. Just make sure you tell him that in the future. You know how it is with new faces. You are not as easy to spot as say...an Admiral would be.

Stolt winced as the doctor examined his hand.

Stolt: Well. There's another well known saying. "Shit happens".

Beckett: In your case...both stand the test!

Beckett sighed. He reached over to his side and grabbed a long needle.

Beckett: Relax your arm...this will go a lot faster if you try to relax.

Beckett inserted the needle into Stolt's arm. He began to inject a freezing agent, and within moments, Stolt's arm, as well as his hand, had gone totally numb.

Beckett: Now...all I have to do...is carefully remove this...sharp object...

Beckett began to slowly pull the nail out.

Beckett: Well...so far so good. It isn't catching...so it may of just gone through tissue...and nothing more.

Beckett removed the nail. He set it down and looked at Stolt's hand.

Beckett: Well...I was picturing a lot worse...but the injury seems minor enough.

Stolt: I remember when doctors used drugs to numb pain, not freeze their patient's arms.

He looked over at the nail and back at his hand.

Stolt: How long until the numbness wears off?

Beckett: I am not like most Doctors. The numbness should go away in 25 minutes.

Beckett: In my spare time...I am forced to constantly brush up on my profession. Most doctors have difficulty mastering the anatomy of one species...let alone 7. It is a lot of work. Sometimes...when I am on shore leave...I will golf. I am Scottish, and a Doctor...that is my game by birthright.
