Zephyr motioned to move out. Katana hit the gas and they quickly accelerated away. I think we all want to get out of here... Leapfrog spoke almost to himself.

Tyber: Commander...let's just say that in my years of work...I have had the unfortunate privalge of seeing some of the things the word "classified" has managed to cover up. Tye paused. Tyber: The fact of the matter is...I got my hands on a set of dossiers I wasn't supposed to. Let's leave it at that, for now. Trust me...you will be fully briefed on what you need to know...I assure you. Tye paused once more. Tyber: However...let me make one thing very clear...ODST Black Team is after me...and they will not stop. We will be seeing them again. I can guarantee that to within the next 24 hours.

Jacob was listening to the conversation, along with the rest of Omega Legion. Except for Carmicle and Limos, they were passed out from their wounds in the back of one of the warthogs. Jacob: Let's just regroup...and get on a line with Harrison.

The whole team made it mack to the airfield. As they dismounted, Zephyr called in medics to see to the wounded. He invited Tye and Jacob to join him in the command center and call Harrison and touch base. Everyone else in the squad restocked their ammo and went to refresh before the next assignment. Zephyr sent a signal directly to Admiral Harrison.

On the way out of the tunnel, Jacob had detonated the explosives. The ensuing explosion caused the entire underground corridor to be caved in, causing no one to go in or out of it and leaving ODST Black Team and the Risk-Takers with no way out. The shock wave was felt through the entire evac center, leading all the way to the Risk-Takers. Liam: And I believe there goes our route out of here. Liam looked at Savannah. Liam: Get Black Team's location... Back in the evac center: Dangerus had uncloaked a few minutes after the humans had left the area. Dangerus: Jacob hadn't changed much.... Dangerus shrugged, he looked around the area and noted that he had lost his entire brute squadron in the fight with Black team. He had been the only brute in the area for the last hour. Dangerus: Now to find my brutes again...and get the information from this data center. Dangerus cloaked again and left the area. Back at the airfield: Troy and Colby had helped the medics get Carmicle and Limos to the medical tent. They would stay and help the medics treat their wounds. Jacob had followed Tye, Frost, and Zephyr into the command tent. Before they stepped inside, Sergeant Athios and Folee were standing there. They looked up and saluted at the officers who had entered. Athios: Good to hear you guys made it back...that transmission really screwed some of us up. Jacob: That was a rogue team of ODSTs. Jacob paused when he heard the radio in the center of the room crackle. Harrison: I have been looking into that. Jacob looked at the radio. Jacob: Admiral, sir. I didn't know. Harrison: No need. Just someone give me a sitrep of what the hell just happened in that HQ.

Zephyr acknowledged the others in the tent. He was about to speak then hesitated. Jacob, I think it'd be best if you explained... I just pulled you guys out of there. He motioned towards Jacob .

Meanwhile: Black Team had been making their way to the server room. As they did, Black 2 was on the comm line with The Ulterior Motive, speaking to Director Spender. Spender: They did WHAT!? Black 2: They destroyed the data center with a virus. The servers are filled with junk data. Spender: I am not pleased. I am the opposite of pleased. I am livid. Black 2: Sir...that is understandable...but I have an alternative! I know how to fix this situation. Spender: Enlighten me...Mr. Wolfe... Black 2: I need an uplink from The Ulterior Motive...to UNSC Regional HQ Bravo. I need this uplink routed through every available proxy on the planet...so as to avoid anything being traced back to you...or us. Spender: That can be provided. Black 2: The only thing we need to upload is the first part of the trifecta of information that pertains to the artifacts that were discovered...as well as the Covenant specific hash data that will be used to pinpoint the next data center they will need to mine. This should keep everything on track. Spender: Mr. Wolfe...you impress me to no end at times. I can foresee commendations, with your name on it, in the near future. Black 2: I am simply doing my job sir...and I am pleased to do it. ODST Black Team walked into the server room. Black 1, Black 3, and Black 4 took up positions to cover Black 2, as Black 2 approached the central mainframe. As he did, he noticed a small uplink sticking out of the primary mainframe. He pulled it out. Black 2: That's not good... Black 2 paused. He decided to pocket the uplink, for now, and get to work. The first thing he did was was establish a proxy connection to The Ulterior Motive. As he did this, he set up the necessary upload path that would be needed to copy all relevant information to UNSC Regional HQ Bravo. Meanwhile: HAWK: Nighthawk...there is a problem that I must bring to your attention. Nighthawk and Anaconda were busy running to the roof of Regional HQ Bravo. Nighthawk: What is it? HAWK: I have lost my uplink to Regional HQ Bravo. Someone has removed it from the data center. Nighthawk: Who? HAWK: I do not know. I was unable to verify in time before my connection was timed out. Nighthawk stopped in the stair well. He was going to go back, but he was grabbed by the arm by Anaconda. Anaconda: Where are you going? Nighthawk: To investigate what happened. Uplinks just don't...stop responding like that. Like HAWK said...it was removed. Anaconda: There is no time...we will be over run with more Covenant soldiers in... HAWK: 1 minutes...53 seconds. Nighthawk sighed. Nighthawk: Damn it... HAWK: A Covenant Corvette has taken up position above UNSC Regional HQ Bravo. Anaconda: We have to leave! Nighthawk conceded, and nodded. He turned, and resumed running back up the stairs. Meanwhile: Tye waited for Jacob to respond. He simply looked at Jacob as well.

Jacob looked at Tye and Zephyr and simply nodded. Jacob: Well, sir. It all happened pretty damn quickly. As soon as we landed on the defensive, the Covenant did not lighten up. Wave after wave, bombardment after bombardment. Jacob paused and leaned on the table. Jacob: What we managed to do was insert a virus in Regional HQ Bravo's computers, if the Covenant is finding anything, it's sending them to random pockets of the globe searching for things that aren't there. That should give us enough time to evac the next city on our list. Jacob paused again and removed his helmet. His face was dirty, worn out, and he was obviously tired. Jacob: We started evacing wounded once we finished up there and once the Covenant broke the main defense. Commander Vernette and the others held the line as long as possible before falling back to the sub-basement with myself. Vernette went to get Frost from the infirmary. That's when things got...weird. Jacob paused, trying to recount the last few minutes, as Harrison was listening intently, not interrupting once. Jacob: Tye and Frost came under heavy fire from a squadron of elites and as we finished evacuating the others, myself, Cameron...and. And Nighthawk went to save Tye and Frost. Harrison broke his silence. Harrison: Say again. Nighthawk? Jacob: Yes, sir. Nighthawk grouped with Cameron and we managed to save Tye and Frost. Harrison: And that's when ground teams lost contact with the HQ. Jacob nodded even though Harrison couldn't see him. Jacob: Yessir. A group of Spartans, seven of them walked into the infirmary. Nighthawk, being who he is, hid. Four of them were Class 0, sir...something that Cameron has a greater subject knowledge of, than I. The other three were smaller, had to be Spartan-III's. Jacob shrugged. Jacob: Tye and the leader of the team, Liam-Z174, talked and we moved on, leaving the Spartans behind. That's when we started to hear human gunfire going up against the brutes. The next thing was fire from the infirmary. From what I could gather, either Nighthawk started shooting...or the Spartans did. Jacob took a deep breath. Jacob: As we moved closer to the evac center, a brute offered his help. Harrison was shocked once again. Harrison: Say again? Jacob: A brute, didn't say who, simply warned us that a team of ODSTs. "Black 1," through "Black 4," wanted Commander Vernette's head...and they wanted him to either do it for them, or tire him out. The brute chose neither of those options and helped us escape by distracting Black team. That's what he did, and I was able to find the members of Omega Legion, two of which were wounded, who claimed Black team had fired upon the rest of the marines in the evac center before preparing the ambush. Commander Vernette was injured in the firefight, sir. Jacob looked at Zephyr. Jacob: However, we almost lost that brute alliance when Hit Squad Kilo fired on the brute, and not the ODSTs. But I do not blame them, I would have done the same if I were them. Jacob looked back at the radio and continued. Jacob: I don't know what happened to the Spartans, or Nighthawk, or Anaconda. The last thing I saw was Black team escaping and the brute cloaking. We hit the pedal, blew up the tunnel...and now we're here. Jacob took a deep breath. He hoped what he had said was enough. Harrison was silent for a good minute or two, trying to gather through the information. Harrison: Very well. Thank you, Jacob. Good work on the virus, that'll definitely keep the Covenant searching and give us some time. Harrison paused, his tone changed when he addressed Tye. Harrison: However, now is the time to talk about those ODSTs if you can, Commander Vernette. I am aware you are injured...if you want to take care of that first, be my guest. I can talk to Cameron about the Spartans instead. Harrison paused. Harrison: I need information of who they are, what they are doing here, and who sent them. For both Teams. Meanwhile: Savannah: They're in the HQ, sir. Liam: Then let's move... The Risk-Takers began to move towards Black Team's position.

Tyber: SIr...if there is ANYONE here who can brief you on those ODSTs...it is I, and I alone. I know...bits and pieces about those men. I can tell you this much, right now... Tye paused. Tyber: These men do not care about anyone...or anything. I don't even know if you can call them men anymore. These guys...are right out of a nightmare. These people are monsters. If it suited the interest of the people they answer to...they would kill EVERYONE on this planet without a second thought. Tye paused again. Tyber: Sir...I can guess who they are still taking their orders from...but...whoever it is...has given them unlimited leverage to do whatever they want. My best advice sir...do not try and take preemptive action against them...because they will come after you...and they will kill you...as in...if you sent out a fleet-wide warning...you will die before the day is out! Our best chance is to wait for them to come to us. We simply have to expect an attack at ANY time. Chances are, it will be when we are most vulnerable and desperate. When that moment comes...they will show themselves. These men...they PREY on people when they are most desperate and vulnerable. Tye paused again. He took a breath. Tyber: There is no such thing as going to far with these guys. Nobody is safe...not us, not The Covenant, not even civilians. Be very careful Admiral.

Harrison nodded on the other side of the comm line. He waited a few moments before replying. He would have loved to send out a fleet-wide warning, but if what Tyber was saying was true, he was not only putting himself in danger, but his entire ship and crew. Harrison: Then I will listen to you Commander. No warning will be sent, and we will simply wait them out. When they come again, I have full faith in you and the marines following you that you can deal with them. Find out everything you can about them until that moment comes and I want constant updates being fed to the Vigorous Inferno. Harrison paused. Harrison: As for those Spartans...I need as much info as them as well.
