Harrison shrugged. Harrison: Most likely, considering the King Raven already has a First Officer. Unless you prove exceptional and are willing to transfer to an alternate ship, this rank will be temporary. Meanwhile: The Risk-Takers were walking down the hallway when they saw Nighthawk pop out of the hallway. Seconds later they all saw the grenade roll down the hallway and immediately dove into adjacent rooms. The grenade didn't hit any of them and simply destroyed the hallway they were in. Jessica: Alright, Spartans. There's Nighthawk. He's alone, so let's do this quickly. Will, move up with suppressing fire. Lyle and Emma, stay in the back and provide covering fire. The team all acknowledged the orders. William walked out of cover and began firing his turret at Nighthawk, forcing him to fall back a bit. Jessica and Desmond both left their cover as well and started walking towards Nighthawk. Jessica: Keep the fire up. Desmond, we're getting in close. Concurrently: Liam and Savannah had walked all the way to the back of the archives, both on either side of Jacob. Jacob was too busy typing away at one of the terminals when he looked up to see the two Spartans standing next to him. Liam: Captain Sharpmen...now, what are you doing? Jacob swallowed deeply. He took a deep breath as the Spartans towered over him by at least two feet. Liam: No shooting, just a few questions. Jacob looked at Liam as his hand reached for his sidearm. Before he could even react, Savannah was already behind him, holding his hand in place. Savannah: I suggest you listen to him.

[Naked Crook]

Nighthawk had moved back behind cover as he heard the gunfire ring out. Nighthawk: HAWK...signal Anaconda...tell him to find me, and link up with me...right away. Tell him the sooner he crashes this party...the better. HAWK: I will contact him. Stand by. Nighthawk began to reload his Magnum. After a moment, he aimed his Magnum around the corner and began to blind fire at The Risk Takers. Nighthawk: Come on you pricks...I am one regular man...what the hell is taking you collosaul wastes of taxpayer money so long!? Nighthawk could heard that, despite his blind firing, that The Risk Takers were still moving forward. Nighthawk began to fall back further, moving away from the explosive device he planted on the wall. Nighthawk broke out into a sprint, as he took cover in a small alcove in the corrdior, waiting for The Risk Takers to turn the corner. Meanwhile: Anaconda had still been stalking both Xyrho and Dangerus. However, Anaconda stopped when he heard the call from HAWK. HAWK: Anaconda...NIghthawk is in trouble. He has requested your assistance. He is currently under attack by the same group of Spartans that you two engaged at Regional HQ Bravo. Placing a waypoint on your HUD...now. Anaconda didn't respond...but he did have an idea. Anaconda looked at both Xyrho and Dangerus. Anaconda realized that he had two potential warriors at his disposal that could POTENTIALLY help him even the odds. Anaconda knew there was risk in this...but he had made it part of his life weighing and acting on risks. It was at that moment, that Anaconda had disengaged his active camo. He stood behind Xyrho and Dangerus, and simply let out a single grunt to get their attention. Meanwhile: Burke looked at Harrison, and considered what he had said. Burke: SIr...I have to decline a transfer. I am currently the senior most officer on The King Raven. I think it would be best if I stayed with The King Raven at this time. If, in the event that Jennifer...Err...I mean Captain Frost returns to the Ship...we have a repore...and we can work out how the chain of command will work. Besides...I have served on The King Raven for a decade and a half now. It has sort of become my home...in a sense. I know the crew, they know me...and things just work better.

[Kairu]

Reynolds stood there feeling uneasy. Reynolds: "Congratulations, Captain. Not to sound like a Debbie-downer, but we need a plan. How are we going to ensure we keep having the high ground, morally and figuratively speaking."

[Hells Sniper]

Harrison nodded. Harrison: Trust me, you're transfer would have taken place after the events here, but since you are obliged to stay. I will not persist in the matter. Harrison paused and looked to Reynolds. Harrison: The next phase in our plan is what Captain Burke just mentioned. The evacuation of the major cities and the redistribution of troops. As more transports leave Carver's spaceport, so do marines. New Armstrong and New Havana are on the edge of an invasion, first thing is making sure we can start sending out transports there. The sooner we do that, the sooner we'll be able to spare enough troops for a counterattack on Covenant ground teams. We have a few locations ready for assault, but seeing as I lost almost all of my infiltration teams, along with the others being currently engaged, we'll have to hold out until we have the units to spare. Meanwhile: Dangerus grinned, he looked behind him. Dangerus: I was expecting to see you soon enough. You have something to say? Meanwhile: William moved forward and stopped firing as soon as Nighthawk turned the corner. Jessica: William, get me an alternate route to that hallway. William grinned under his helmet and walked into the room closest to the hallway they needed to go to. The team knew Nighthawk and Anaconda's tactics of luring people around, that's how most of their fellow Spartans died. Foolish mistakes, following the Prey back home was always how the Predator ended up getting hit. The Risk-Takers knew better than that. Jessica and Desmond followed William into the next room and going along with Jessica's orders, William was about to make an alternate route towards Nighthawk. William approached the side wall and lifted his turret. He hit the wall in a massive show of force. The wall cracked several times, as William was the strongest of the III's, he was making quick work of it with the use of his turret. William hit the wall again, the wall cracked again. William smiled and backed up, he rolled his shoulders and then ran straight at the wall, bringing up his arm to cover his visor. William crashed through the wall and into the hallway, behind Nighthawk. William shook his head as the wall behind him no had a giant hole in it. He smiled as Desmond and Jessica both came out of the wall and looked to Nighthawk. William wasted no time in opening fire, followed by Jessica and Desmond. If Nighthawk were to run back, he would simply encounter Lyle and Emma, who had know moved to cover the escape route. Meanwhile: Jacob struggled to get out of the grasp of Savannah, she was a Spartan and he was just a 34-year old marine. He looked at Liam. Jacob: You know who I am, but I'm not talking unless I get a name. Liam: Liam-Z174, behind you is Savannah-Z129. Yes, we're Class 0's, you should know all about us. Jacob sighed. Liam: We obviously don't want to kill you, kid. I'd advise standing down. Jacob nodded, he stopped struggling and soon after, Savannah let go of him. Liam: I see you're doing a little search of yourself there...find anything interesting? Jacob shook his head. Jacob: The Trust have some pretty tight firewalls. Liam chuckled. Liam: That they do...Savannah. Liam nodded as Savannah pushed Jacob out of the way and began typing on the terminal. Seconds later, she backed away and much to Jacob's surprise, the entire network was ready to be accessed. Jacob looked at Savannah, and then Liam. Jacob: Why..? Liam smiled. Liam: Because I'm a friend, Jacob...I'm a Spartan. I'm here to help you.

[Naked Crook]

Burke: Well...this is as good of a plan as we are going to get, provided our limitations and our current deployments. I really see nothing else that we can do. We seem to have our bases covered as best we can. Burke paused. He looked at Harrison. Burke: Sir...there might be ONE more thing I can do. I might be able to get you a bit more information on The Trust, namely, some of their more notorious members. As I said earlier...Admiral Vernette has known about The Trust for a long time. This might seem like an invasion of privacy...but I might be able to access his personal logs...and see if he ever put any of his thoughts to voice. He might be able to get us some insight that we may be lacking. Meanwhile: Nighthawk looked at both Desmond and Jessica move through the hole in the wall behind him. He took aim at Desmond, but he stopped himself from pulling the trigger when he heard the other two Spartans approaching from behind. Nighthawk then saw William spinning up his turret. Nighthawk knew that in a matter of seconds that William was going to unload on Nighthawk with the full fury of his chaingun. Nighthawk, knowing his odds and chances, opted no to shoot William. However, he did lower his weapon, and took aim at the gun itself, and pulled the trigger. The bullet that rang out from Nighthawk's gun had impacted the ammo chain belt that was hooked up to William's minigun. The force of impact had damaged the belt, jamming the feed. However, the reality was that Nighthawk was not going to be able to stop all of these Spartans by himself. He needed time...and he needed a way out. The only thing Nighthawk could do...was back up, back towards the explosive device that was sitting on the wall. Nighthawk: Well, well...this is hardly fair. Five of you...vs just ONE of me. I would take it as a compliment to my skill...if it wasn;t so overwhelming... Meanwhile: Anaconda looked at Dangerus and Xyrho. Anaconda: Listen very carefully...as I will only say this once... Anaconda growled. Anaconda: You two...are not my biggest concern...but you are here, and you are serously outgunned by the sheer amount of Humans here. I have a pretty good idea why you two are here...and I am willing to bet that it is something that Nighthawk and I can help you with. So...with that said...I have a proposition for the both of you. Anaconda paused. Anaconda: There are a group of Spartans in this facility. They are currently chasing my partner down...and they are going to kill him. THeir numbers are great, and they are battle hardened. If you help me tip the scales of a confrontation in our favor...I can see to it that whatever you are here for...you will get. I do not make this deal lightly...so you either take it as is...or you take your chances alone. Speak now! Time is a factor!

[Hells Sniper]

Harrison nodded. Harrison: Do it, I'm sure Vernette will understand. Harrison paused. Harrison: If that is it, Captain Burke, you are dismissed. Captain Reynolds, I need you to stay. We need to discuss some things. Meanwhile: Dangerus looked at Anaconda, and then at Xyrho. He knew he had the decision, and for the moment, he knew he would have to take Anaconda's word for it. Dangerus: Lead us to the Spartans. We will help you. Meanwhile: William grunted as he hit his turret. He threw it to the side and switched to his magnum. Jessica and Desmond had begun walking towards Nighthawk on the other hand, weapons raised. Jessica: We wanted to do it right. And do it right we will. Without any hesitation, Jessica and Desmond began firing, with William covering their rear. Concurrently: Jacob was taken back by the comment. Liam had made no inclination before of him being a friend, and he sure as hell wasn't on good terms to trust anyone at the moment. Jacob looked at the terminal and then looked at Liam. Jacob: I don't trust you. Liam: I wouldn't trust me either. Liam grinned. Jacob didn't move. Liam: The terminal is open for ya, kid. You have a chance to figure out everything you could have ever wanted to know. Jacob didn't move, he was still reluctant. Liam shrugged. Liam: Captain, I just want to talk. I just want us to work with each other here. That's all I ever wanted. Jacob looked at Liam. He was still unsure if he could trust anything he was saying. He was a Spartan, and more importantly, he was working for the Trust. Then again, he WAS working for the Trust. If he could get on his good side, he could prove a very useful hub of information. Jacob nodded. Jacob: You want to talk? Fine, let's talk.

[Naked Crook]

Burke nodded, as he saluted, and then turned to leave the bridge of the Vigorous Inferno. Burke proceeded back to the hanger bay so he could catch a ride back to the King Raven. Meanwhile: Anaconda nodded. He looked at both Xyrho and Dangerus. Anaconda: Very well. Follow me. Anaconda wasted no time in darting off, with both Xyrho and Dangerus in tow. Xyrho was very skeptical of this alliance, but he did not object. He knew that this could very well pay off in very short order. Meanwhile: Nighthawk watched as Jessica and Desmond readied their weapons. Nighthawk sighed, as he knew he was in serious trouble. He shifted his eyes back and forth...but it was HAWK who advised his next course of action. HAWK: Nighthawk...to your left...where the Spartan broke through the wall. Take note of the damaged transformer on the wall. Shoot it. You might be able to gain a strategic environmental advantage. Prepare to initialize Nightvision mode. Without hesitation, Nighthawk took aim and fired at the Transformer. The first round that he fired off, caused the Transformer to overload, and explode. The explosion had managed to daze both Desmond and Jessica, with William being less effected due to the fact that he was a bit further away than either Desmond and Jessica. None-the-less, The lights in the immediate area shut down, causing a local blackout. However, just as Nighthawk did this, Jessica and Desmond had already managed to fire off a few shots. Several of these shots did graze Nighthawk. One of these shots even grazed his helmet. One shot even managed to impact Nighthawk in the left clavicle, but was mostly stopped by the Kevlar. HAWK: Detonate the explosive on the wall...cover your flank! Nighthawk looked at the hole in the wall, and jumped through it, making a dive. As he jumped through the hole, he triggered the explosive that was attached to the wall, broadsiding both Lyle and Emma. Nighthawk heard the explosion go off less than 2 seconds later. He had no idea if either Lyle or Emma were able to move away from the blast or not. HAWK: Nighthawk...get up! Run!

[Kairu]

Reynolds remained put. He felt uneasy having to stay and chat with Harrison. It could have been any number of reasons for him to have a private chat. He knew they his exploitation of Harmony's hole in the Covenant lines was a direct disobedience of orders. He was hoping that that was the reason he was asked to stay. Regardless, other situations have occurred that Harrison could be onto. His involvement with the Trust is a starter, Vice-Admiral Yates aboard his ship before Harrison deemed the man a "traitor", maybe even his relationship. No matter, Reynolds fought to keep his cool, not allowing him to buckle under the pressure. He believed the Trust can get the job done on San Angeles, and he was going to commit to that, no matter what the outcome.

[Hells Sniper]

Lyle and Emma were both taken back a bit by the blast, but quickly regained their footing once they had figured what had happened. Desmond and Jessica however wasted no time in following Nighthawk through the whole. Jessica: William and Lyle cover our exits. Emma, get in here. Emma wasted no time in darting into the room with Jessica and Desmond. Inside the room, Nighthawk could be seen reloading his weapons. The room had only two exits, one being covered by Emma and the other by Jessica and Desmond. William covered the hallway, while Lyle covered the other end. Jessica spoke only to her teammates in a low volume. Jessica: Anaconda can jump in here at anytime, William, Lyle, switch to thermal, keep an eye out. Everyone else, stay with the HUD, open fire on him. Wasting no time, Jessica, Emma, and Desmond opened fire on Nighthawk's position. Meanwhile: Harrison looked at Reynolds. He didn't change his facial expression, he simply just stared him down. Harrison: Captain Reynolds. I am sure you have some idea of why I need to talk to you. Harrison paused, he crossed his hands behind his back. Harrison: For starters, you broke formation in the middle of a large scale firefight. Now, I know what you are going to say, you had a hole and a chance to take out a Covenant cruiser. Harrison bowed his head. Harrison: It was risky, Captain. You risked the exposure of several support ships in the process, along with the safety of the entire fleet. Yet, you did it anyway. It's something I wouldn't have done. You went against orders, and orders are orders. But, it worked. Harrison paused. Harrison: I applaud for that. Though, fair warning, the next time you ever go against orders like that again, with a blatant disregard to the entire fleet, I will have you demoted and the Mind's Attrition will be moved to someone else's command. Do I make myself clear, Captain? Meanwhile: Liam nodded. Liam: Your recent escapades the last few years have caught the attention of several of my commanders. And I won't forget to mention your stunts on Mars all those years back. Jacob shifted a bit, the Mars mission was still fresh in his mind, even if it was more than 15 years ago. He knew everything about those months, every little detail was still pounding in his head. Jacob: I have become aware of that. Liam: Figured you would. Liam paused. Liam: Jacob, how would you respond if I told you that everything you worked for in the past few years, everything you did...would be, how do I put this? Liam looked at Savannah and then smiled. Liam: Appreciated more if you were with a different group of individuals. A group of marines, ODSTs, Spartans, and Navy boys that are working for the very survival of humanity, and the very survival of what we stand for. Jacob took a deep breath. Liam: I am sure you remember your good friend, Pinestar? Jacob's eyes widened, his heart started beating rapidly. He shook his head. Liam: So, you do remember...?

[Kairu]

Reynolds hung his head down. He was relieved that his turncoat spy status wasn't blown, but at the same time, he was still subject to UNSC rules and regulations. He admits Harrison has every right to bring this up. If the roles were reversed, he would have said the same thing. It only made too much sense to him. Reynolds brought his head back up and looked at Harrison. Reynolds: "Yes, Sir. I understand. It will not happen again."
