Meanwhile:
The Agents, Tiffany, and Dallas were all sitting around a table in the bar.
Each of them had a bottle of beer in front of them, not one drank from it.
Their was silence among them, the entire bar was silent. Many were hearing of Jacob's death, all knew who he was, at least by his nickname.
"The Cyborg is dead," was the common phrase going around the Crimson Shadow.
Dallas looked at the men and women seated amongst him. He alone broke the silence.
Dallas: Ya know...Jacob and I had a very rocky relationship...
Dallas was looking at the beer in front of him, moving it in his hand.
Dallas: I abandoned him as a brother when I joined the UNSC...I didn't speak to him for years after the Covenant war. Hell, I thought he was dead...he probably thought the same of me.
Dallas paused.
Dallas: Somehow...we met up with each other in 2534, both fighting the Covenant, and somehow ended up back to back.
Dallas smiled and chuckled.
Dallas: We didn't even realize until after the battle...until the fighting was over.
He finally took a drink of the beer.
Dallas: We drank together that day, reminiscing, talking...fixing our relationship.
He took another sip.
Dallas: Somehow he forgave 12 years of abandonment in one day...one night...he forgave me. I don't know how...how he got over it all.
He smiled and began to choke up a little bit, a tear rolling down his cheek.
Dallas: I didn't see him for another 10 years...and then 8 years after that. How he remained by my side...defending me in my court martial case, hell, even appearing at it...I don't know how he did it. Man...he was something.
Dallas took another sip of his beer and leaned back in his seat.
Dallas: I'm just speaking out loud...trying to remember him.
Dallas laughed.
Dallas: I can not even remember what he looks like...last time I saw him he was beat to death and even then...nothing.
Dallas lost it there, he began to just cry into his hands, occasionally taking a sip of beer in between breaths. He banged his hand on the table.
Dallas: God fucking damnit!
The rest of the Agents and Tiffany just sat there, they couldn't help Dallas...the most they could say was that they were sorry...but Dallas knew that. The best thing they could do was let him be.
