As many have said BSGO is just another space opera. Me I hate Battlestar Galactic Reimagined series. However I love the Online game they made for it. So I'm going to talk about several aspects of the game. I will put a glossary for you at the end.
  1. Why you should or should not play it.
  2. Which side should you choose
  3. Whats the most important things to do
  4. Which ship should I use
  5. Glossary

Why you should or should not play it
There are several reasons why you should play it and why you shouldn't play it. I'll discuss each into details.
Reasons to play
1.) You don't need to download anything except the Unity web player.
2.) All you need to do is to login to bsgo(Battlestar Galactica Online) and play it within a web browser.
3.) You get to explore a new area of Battlestar galactica that you never see in the series.

Reasons Not to play
1.) After each update there i socket errors, and they cause your browser to crash.
2.) you need a good graphics card an at least 2gb of ram to play it without any form of lag.
3.) Some players are total douche bags.
4.) Join a wing that is very large or start one up with at least 10 members. A good wing should have at least 1-2 Lines, 4-5 Escorts and 10-20 Strikes.

Which side should you choose
I prefer colonial but it is totally up to you here is why.

Colonial: They are very good to each other however they bicker at each other when you mine jink(see glossary) them. However they are easy to get an op running(see glossary).

Cylons: They are literally douche bags. On every server they are rude and condinsending to each other. I swear to you that they must be all the same people on the each server. THey are like in many aspects like the Trust here in NHRPG. I swear to god. They also suicide themselves(Glossary). But they will cuss you out, they script(Glossary). And they give zero fucks on how big your ship is. Be a cylon if your a total douche bag. Not all are like this ,but they don't help their brethren out like the colonials do.

Whats the most important things to do
1.) do your dailies(Glossary) this will get you creds like no other.
2.) Check your dradis(Glossary)
3.) Keep all cubits(Glossary) for repairing your ship.
4.) Earn as many merits as possible(GLossary).

Which ship should I use
Strike: This is your first class of ship you will recieve in game. However they are very easy to kill and when your on a OP Roll your job as a Strike is missile duty and suiciding into nukes(Glossary). But I can tell you this if your a strike get into a blindspot(Glossary) and fire away as many rounds and missiles as you can muster into that blindspot.

Escort: This is a much bigger ship than a Strike its roughly a anti-strike ship they are very fast to very slow and they can either be used as a capital ship or as an anti-fighter ship. They are the most versatile ship in the game. As a scythe(Colonial) it is the fastest escort in entire game. It can out-manuever a strike fighter and has more engine units than any other ship.

Line: This ship class is a capital ship it has the largest Dradis Range(Glossary), and longest FTL range(Glossary) and takes a riducalous amount of Tylium(Glossary) and Cubits(Glossary) to purchase them. They are also the ships with the largest blindspots in entire game.

Glossary
  • Mine Jinking - Mine Jinking is when a wing claims an Mine, but your wing places a mine on that claimed planetoid before the other wing can put it down. It is frowned upon.
  • Suiciding- Means your commit suicide by attacking a much larger ship usually used to create a diversion to draw away strike fighters away from the fleet so the other much larger ships will nuke and fire missiles like crazy while a single fighter draws the fighters away and usually will die.
  • Dailies- Are quest that you do every day to earn Tylium.
  • Dradis - this is like radar, the larger your dradis is the further away you can detect enemy movement. The opposite is true when you have a smaller dradis.
  • Cubits-are an premium currency. They are best used as repairing your ship's hull after damage.
  • Merits - are another premium currency for one reason to unlock a battlestar for an op roll or a basestar.
  • Nukes - Well you should know what they are, but they do not interfere with your dradis.
  • Blindspot - this is an area of the ship that the dradis and weapons cannot lock on. It is usually the engine unit area but some have a spot in front of them that you cannot see.
  • FTL - Faster Than Light all ships have an FTL engine but strikes can only go from one system to another, however if your an escort you can transport up to 2 strikes in a FTL Window. Lines can transport the entire party your in. Range is how far it is, and it cost you money to open up a FTL window it cost Tylium(Glossary)
  • Tylium - Is the currency in the game, and it is also the fuel, which is stupid, you use your fuel basically to buy a ship. And weaponry.
