STORY:
It starts with graphic artist Clay Riddell walking through downtown Boston carrying a present for his esranged wife in Kent Pond, Maine. Clay's just walking down the street to his hotel when apocalypse kicks in. The first thing he notices is a man eating a dog alive in the park, then a mom and daughter fight to the death. He watches as Boston slowly deteriorates before his eyes. All of this started with the ring of a cell phone. He comes across a man named Tom McHourt and a girl named Alice Maxwell. Together they travel across a few states in search of sanctuary. They meet up with the headmaster and a former student of Gaiten Academy where they stay for awhile. They find out that there's a "flock"
of "phone crazies" (people affected by the Pulse, wich is what caused the insanity). They continue onwards after a few ordeals in Gaiten. They begin to notice signs spray-painted on highways and streets that read KASHWAK = NO-FO. They figure out what it means, but Clay wants to find his son and wife in Kent Pond if possible. They return there, but to no avail. The others convince Clay to go with them to Kashwak, but no one knows what will happen...
Story rating: 9.5/10

Writing Style: Its sort of an "end of the world as we know it" type book, but the cause and effects are completly different than anything I've ever read. The genre would be a horror-fiction I guess. He's a very graphic author. He describes things in ways that make you feel like you're watching it happen before your eyes. Not just gory scenes, he writes some sexual stuff to. If you really want to see it read the Dark Tower sereies, thats got everything.
Wrting Style Rating: 10/10

Overall Rating: 19.5/20
Personally I really liked this book, if you decide to read it, tell me what you think.
