Rant on Grammar Usage!

I don't mean to sound like a grammar Nazi or anything, but I just wanted to point out how an increasing number of people in America today have just an awful concept of grammar. I don't know if this is due to poor education, not paying attention in class, or listening to too much rap, but the lack of grammar skills makes it hard to understand what someone is trying to communicate through typed or written forms.* Here's a list of things I find used incorrectly most often.* #1. Little to no punctuation usage.* You know those people that just seem to type whatever they can onto the computer without paying much attention to punctuation it's understandable most of the time but sometimes it gets to the point where it's very confusing or incredibly hard to figure out what they're trying to say get what I'm saying* #2 There, Their, and They're Let me give a quick rundown of what each of these mean. There refers to a place, as in "I am going THERE". Their is a possessive term, as in "That is their dog". They're is a contraction for They are, as in "They're going to the range". Let's use all three inproper context. "Look over there! Isn't that their dog? Oh boy, they're going to be in a lot of trouble!" Got that? Good.* #3 Your and You're. This is the one I see used wrongly most often. Your, like their, is a possessive term as in "That's YOUR baby". You're is a contraction for You Are, as in "You're daddy". There's a big difference between "Your dad" and "You're dad". Please keep this in mind. You're the ones speaking English, so it's your responsibilities to know how English works.* #4 it's and its. Unlike most other possessive words that use an 's to show possession, "it" is the only one to show possession by adding just an "s". An example is "Its hair is a mess!" It's is a contraction for "it is", as in "It's time for you to go back to the kitchen". So remember, "It's the wife's responsibility to take care of her husband. In turn, the husband brings home a paycheck. Its necessity is required for a happy marriage." #5 1337 t@1|<. I bet every one have you has seen some kid or game addicted adult talk like s0m3 |<1^c| 0f d1g1t@| m@c41n3. It's annoying all the time, anytime. I don't understand why people want to do this other than to show ignorance and be annoying.* #6 Commas. I know this should fall under punctuation marks, but the use of the comma is what is difficult for so many people. Either they know how to use them, or they stick them in random spots, or they don't use them at all. The comma is very important, and correct usage can be the difference between "Let's eat, Grandma" and "Let's eat Grandma". They also allow long fancy sentences to be made. Take a look at the Declaration of Independence. The first sentence itself is over 100 words long! (I remember having to diagram this sentence back in highschool. My teacher was a grammar Nazi, but i learned so much from him.) Note how the use of punctuation allows this extremely long sentence to make perfect sense while letting it flow together smoothly.* This is all I can think of right now.*
