The diary of a miner
Chapter 1: Strange beginings
I woke up staring at the sun; I squinted due to the suns brightness. I sat up and saw that I was sitting on a beach. I had no idea how I got there, and I probably didn’t think I would find out. After a few minutes I decided that I needed to build a shelter before nightfall. For what seemed like hours I was ripping away at trees, putting up basic framework for my shelter. Finally it was finished, and just in time for nightfall. I quickly hurried inside my shelter and felt a strong need to block the entrance, so I did so with some extra wood I had. During the night I heard horrible noises, as if hell itself had opened up and demons had escaped. I coward in fear until the night was over, not letting myself fall asleep in fear of something getting in during the night. Come day break I looked through a slit in the planks I had placed. I say nothing so I thought I was safe. After removing the planks blocking the door I emerged outside into the strange world. The first thing I saw was a strange creature, with slimy green skin, no arms and four legs. The creature stood upright like a human, as I examined the creature it turned around and I saw its face, it was horribly twisted into a horrifying frown; I thought to myself “Could this thing once of been human?” I slowly approached the creature, and it inched closer to me, oddly, it made no noise as it walked. I was less than 2 feet from it when it began to make a strange hissing noise; I saw this as a threat so I backed away. What happened next was completely unexpected, the creature burst into a fireball which smelt of burning flesh and ashes, where I had been standing seconds before was nothing but a crater now.
