"I DID say 'as much as we can...' But you have a point. I just hope the rest of our boys can stop the whole Scorched Earth thing. We could get some serious Intel on the tech they're using." He said. He then looked over to Robertson. "But that's just my idea."

Robertson: "I just like blowing shit up. The Geek there would love to tear his hands into the tech, but if it will probably be ONI that gets it instead."

"Priorities, priorities." He said. "I'm sure we can clear some time to blow something sky high, eh?" He chuckled.

Meanwhile:

The Phantom that was carrying Xyrho and Vhat had returned to Xyrho's Corvette. Once the Phantom had docked, Xyrho stepped out and stood on the hanger deck. He watched as Vhst exited the Phantom, and eventually spoke up.

Xyrho: Vhat...take some time to prepare yourself for our next battle. I must see to contact that Nighthawk Human to get our next target. He will be able to tell us where we must be to strike at our enemies.

Xyrho paused.

Xyrho: Do not speak of our discussion with anyone else. Do not speak of The Construct. Many here do not know what I know and have not seen what I have seen. They will not understand my desire to destroy this abomination. As far as our battle with Vanguard is concerned...our brothers are blind fools...unable to see past their foolish piety.

Xyrho paused.

Xyrho: Vanguard must be stopped...and anyone who tries to stand in the wsy of this goal must perish. No exceptions.

Jacob looked around as he exited the armory, fully decked out in his gear. He got a few glances from some of the marines walking around the deck and even heard a few whispers as he walked towards the elevator.

Trust Marine: Is that the UNSC dude?

Trust Marine 2: I think so man, what the fuck did he do to his armor?

Jacob kept walking, ignoring the comments of the various marines around him. He knew he had modded his armor and after walking by a few marines, he noticed he was now a little bit taller than most of the Trust marines on the ship. Jacob brushed it off and hit the button for the elevator, as he waited he thought about what he was doing.

What am I doing? I'm going to the one brute, the one thing in this galaxy that probably hates me as much as Nighthawk. The moment he sees me...

Jacob backed away from the elevator, he thought about it for a few more moments.

He's gonna rip my head off...unless...unless I can just.

Jacob heard the elevator ding, he waited for a few moments. He looked around the area, the elevator was empty all he had to do was step inside.

No, I can change this. I can offer my help...the information about Vanguard. I can get his help.

Jacob stepped into the elevator and looked at the buttons. On the number 7 button there was another smaller button with the word "Division" on it. Jacob smiled as he pressed the small button, the elevator moved a bit and then started heading down to the Division 7 floor.

That's if I can even get near him.

Meanwhile:

Liam walked over to Savannah, both of them were still unarmored and unready for a fight. Savannah was facing towards the window, looking out at the planet and the stars. The rest of the Risk Takers were getting armored up.

Liam: Hannah...what is it?

Savannah took a deep breath and turned around.

Savannah: You should never have gone to him. You should have never tried to recruit him.

Liam: Outstanding orders are to always initiate recruiting protocols on potential Trust operatives. He was right there...outnumbered, outgunned, ready to join us.

Savannah glared at Liam and held out her hands.

Savannah: Think about what you're saying! He was outgunned, outnumbered, and you were offering him something he would otherwise never be able to get. He had NO choice but to join us.

Liam leaned back and thought about, he was understanding what Savannah was getting at, but he didn't want to believe it.

Liam: Hannah, he killed over two dozen UNSC marines on his own, followed our Scorched Earth Protocol to the letter, you think if he was a double agent he would do that stuff?

Savannah sighed.

Savannah: Yes and no. I'm just...I'm saying to watch him, Liam. To keep an eye on what he does.

Savannah shook her head and turned back to the window. Liam walked up next to her and stared out.

Liam: I'll make sure to do it...I think he has made his decision about whose side he is on. Besides, it's not like he could go back to the UNSC now?

Savannah smirked. That was true.

Savannah: Good point. He'll be a rogue operative for both sides if he crosses us.

Liam smiled and put his hand on Savannah's shoulder.

Liam: After what I just saw...I lost faith in him, but I didn't lose all of it. You've expressed your doubt with him and I trust it, and I will watch him.

Savannah nodded. She continued to stare out the window.

Savannah: Remember when we were training? When we looked up at the stars at night and thought, hoped, one day we could see em all.

Liam nodded, during training Desmond, Jessica, Savannah and him had always been together. They had always been part of a team.

Savannah: You ever think we'd do it fighting two Spartan hunters?

Liam chuckled and he could see Savannah had a smirk on her face.

Liam: You ever think we'd see aliens, too?

Savannah smiled fully and shook her head.

Liam: Get suited up, Hannah. We've got a mission to accomplish.

Savannah turned to Liam and smiled, she nodded. Liam nodded back and patted her on the shoulder as he walked away, moving to his station to get suited up. Savannah turned back to the window and looked out at the stars. She stood there for a few minutes.

Savannah: Just another mission.

Savannah turned around and headed to her station to get suited up.

Meanwhile:

In the Ulterior Motive maximum security holding area, Anaconda and The Consultant were still conversing.

Anaconda: And how are YOU going to earn my trust?

The Consultant: A bit of honesty...a bit of kindness...a personal touch...a bit of knowledge...

Anaconda began to laugh.

Anaconda: What kind of Honesty?

The Consultant grinned.

The Consultant: Well...for starters...how about we talk about The Risk Takers? I am sure that is a topic near and dear to your heart.

Anaconda: Depends on what we are talking about.

The Consultant: Let's talk about...I don't know...let me think...

The Consultant thought for a moment.

The Consultant: How about we talk about their seemingly impeccable ability to always be ready for a fight?

Anaconda: Go on.

The Consultant: I am not sure if you have noticed or not...but The Risk Takers are ALWAYS ready for a fight. No matter how much you beat them up, they seem to come back at you again later, fresh as a new car.

Anaconda was silent.

The Consultant: They have a secret that I know...

Anaconda was very skeptical.

Anaconda: Why are you telling me this?

The Consultant: Because I am ideologically opposed to what The Risk Takers are unleashed to do.

The Consultant paused.

The Consultant: They want to kill you. I cannot allow that.

Anaconda: Right...because you are my biggest fan!

The Consultant: Exactly.

.
Anaconda scratched his chin, as he looked at The Consultant.

Anaconda: So what is their secret? Why are they always healthy? How are they able to get back into fighting shape so quickly?

The Consultant: Stolen Covenant technology.
There are these pods that we have recovered. The Trust calls these pods "The Guest Houses"...but in reality...they are actually these medical pods, which automate surgical procedures and use other various technologies to knit and repair injuries.

Anaconda: Automated Medical Suites. That is what The Covenant calls them.

The Consultant: Well, whatever name they go by...they are used quite often by The Risk Takers, and even by Hammer Teams and Black Team when the need arises.

Anaconda was very interested by what he was hearing.

The Consultant: Destroy those...and you set them back...big time.

The Consultant grinned.

The Consultant: Nothing would please me more than to see them dead. I regret provisioning their equipment. I did that, before I actually saw how special you were. I cannot allow that mistake to destroy my new-found...obsession.

Anaconda: Obsession?

The Consultant grinned.

The Consultant: I can tell you so MUCH more about The Risk Takers. I know many more secrets that I am perfectly willing to share...

Anaconda: Yeah? Are you going to?

The Consultant: I will...but only on one condition.

Anaconda was silent.

Anaconda: Let me guess...my name.

The Consultant: Tempting...very tempting actually.

The Consultant shook her head.

The Consultant: No...I want something else...something...a little more...terrible...terrifying...

Anaconda watched as The Consultant raised her hand, and extended towards the control panel.

The Consultant: If you so much as move a muscle, to obey that instinct in the back of your head...you will lose out on information that will savr your life a hundred times over.

The Consultant paused.

The Consultant: Just...don't...move...

Anaconda was very confused as to what The Consultant's angle was. He was totally baffled by her appreciation. As much as Anaconda wanted to charge this woman, and trample her under his feet, he could not help but feel that if he did as she asked, the intel he could gather on The Risk Takers would be invaluable. Much to Anaconda's chagrin, he simply remained motionless, as he watched The Consultant deactivate the security barrier, and step into his holding cell.

The Consultant: Ohhh...this is something else. The anxiety...the stress...the fear...the feeling that at ANY second...your composure could snap and just MURDER me where I stand...

The Consultant began to walk circles around Anaconda.

The Consultant: I am sure you can taste taste my anxiety...and I am feeling quiter anxious at the moment. What I am doing...is pretty irresponsible. I have literally shut down the one thing tandng between you and freedom...and I am putting my own life in peril...just to inch closer...step by step...to take a very good look up close.

The Consultant stopped behind Anaconda, she she placed her hands on his shoulders, and began to whisper to him.

The Consultant: And the only thing that is holding back that...primal alpha male rage of yours...is these words...

The Consultant lowered her head towards Anaconda's ear, and whisper.

The Consultant: I can help you kill them...

Anaconda let the words sink into his brain. They echoed in his ear. He had to admit...this woman was something else. He began to laugh.

Anaconda: You...

Anaconda laughed again.

Anaconda: You have...

The Consultant spoke again.

The Consultant: Say it...

Anaconda: My respect.

The Consultant: Getting closer...

The Consultant then pushed her thumbs into Anaconda's shoulder blades, causing him to growl.

The Consultant: That...my friend...is called a pressure point. Feels good no? Hit them at the same time...and well...you get....what you just did.

The Consultant released her thumbs, as Anaconda sighed, and shook his head.

The Consultant: Now...let's talk about Liam...shall we. He is the head of the Hydra that MUST be decapitated first!

As The Consultant said this, she once again pushed her thumbs into Anaconda's shoulder blades.

The Consultant: That is...if you are even remotely interested in heard what I have to say on the matter. Somehow...I doubt you are fully paying attention.

Anaconda grit his teeth, as he spoke.

Anaconda: No...I am listening. Go for it. Tell me what you know.

In the other Pelican...
Dark looked down. He was going to be pitted against the people he was originally fighting for. This Trust organization... He frowned. They were traitors. Every last one of them... But Desmond.
Brother, what hath thou done...

The Consultant kept on speaking with Anaconda concerning The Risk Takers.

The Consultant: As you may or may not know...The Risk Takers are led by a Spartan known as Liam Z-174. He is the one that calls the shots for that team, and he is very, very good at it. In fact, I would say that any success that The Risk Takers have had against you and your Nighthawk friend, has been because of Liam. He should be your main target.

The Consultant paused.

The Consultant: He is the one that comes up with all the plans...all of the tactics...and he is the one that gives them their direction.

The Consultant paused.

The Consultant: The others would be lost without him. He is the one that must go...before all of the others.

The Consultant removed her hands from Anaconda's shoulders, as she began to walk circles around him again. As she did, Anaconda stretched his neck, letting out a slight cracking noise.

Anaconda: What about the others?

The Consultant: Lyle is the tech expert. The others depend on him to satisfy their tech needs. When you first arrived here, one of those Spartans' had their armor seized up. I looked into the matter, and it seems that, at some point, Nighthawk managed to hit her with some sort of malicious attack code that was deployed via a data chip. If there is anyone on THe Risk Takers who would be capable of fixing that, it would by Lyle.

Anaconda: Without Lyle...

Anaconda paused.

Anaconda: They lose the technological backbone.

The Consultant stopped in front of Anaconda, kneeling down in front of him, lowering down to eye level.

The Consultant: Exactly!

The Consultant paused.

The Consultant: Those two are the key to your victory!

The Consultant paused.

The Consultant: However...there is more...interesting information. You should know that Savannah-Z129 and Liam...are very close friends. They seem to have a more kindred type of friendship. I have it on good authoirty that the two Spartans will often confide in one-another. I assume that they are closest with each other.

Anaconda: Sounds like a typical Trust tactic - get to the main target through a secondary target.

The Consultant: The Trust did not invent the method...but we use it to an abusive extent.

The Consultant began to laugh.

The Consultant: It is a personal favorite of mine, actually...

Anaconda remained silent. The Consultant saw this, and her laughter quickly died down.

The Consultant: I get the impression you are not impressed by my methods?

Anaconda grunted.

Anaconda: It seems cowardly. You should be able to fight your enemies directly...not prey on those around them.

The Consultant: I am very far from cowardly, my very large Brute.

The Consultant paused, as she placed her hand on Anaconda's chin. However, she quickly recoiled when she was met with a growl.

The Consultant looked at Anaconda wide-eyed, with a bit of a frown. However, her frown dissipated when Anaconda began to laugh.

Anaconda: You were saying?

The Consultant looked at Anaconda, as she winced her eyes, as a smirk slowly shot across her face.

The Consultant: This is what I want. This is what I have been looking for, for so long. THIS...this sort of exchange! I knew it from the moment I saw the recordings that you had THIS kind of personality when you were...relaxed...content.

The Consultant paused.

The Consultant: Why do you make that sound?

Anaconda: I make it to express anger WITHOUT dismemberment.

The Consultant raised an eyebrow. She slowly extended her hand again, as she placed her hand on Anaconda's throat.

The Consultant: Do it again. One more time...like you man it...

Anaconda: Why?

The Consultant: I want to feel it.

Anaconda was taken aback by this. He was totally baffled as to why.

Anaconda: Get away from me...

Anaconda pushed The Consultant away, sending her to the ground. He then stood up, and looked down at her.

Anaconda: I am not here for your amusement and your curiosity. I am not here to to be touched, and I am not here to be rated as some domestic!

Anaconda snarled at The Consultant, as she began to scramble back. He began to walk towards her, but before he could grab her, she had retreated out of the cell, and reinitialized the energy barrier on the cell. The Consultant then backed away, breathing heavily.

The Consultant: There was NO NEED for that!

Anaconda: If you step foot in here again...I will murder you where you stand!

The Consultant stepped forward.

The Consultant: I am trying to help you!

Anaconda: I have no problem with you trying to help me...it is your hands I have a problem with. I am not here to be touched!

The Consultant paused. Her breathing was starting to slow down.

The Consultant: We will talk later...after you have had a chance to calm down.

The Consultant turned away, as she began to walk towards the exit of the holding cells.

Jacob listened to the hum of the elevator as he rode it down a few floors to the heart of Division 7. That's when he had a fantastic idea. Jacob smiled, he was now part of the Trust, in every sense of the word and that means he could go almost anywhere on the ship.

Jacob accessed his HUD's video feed and began a recording, he began to speak out loud.

Jacob: I don't know whoever is going to get this, hell, if any of you are even going to listen at this point.

Jacob paused, he looked down, looking at his armor. It was clear on the video that he had added much more protection and the armor was modded.

Jacob: I betrayed the UNSC...I betrayed ONI for selfish purposes which at the time, I had no other choice. I know what you all must be thinking if you ever get a chance to hear this, see it. I'm a crazy, traitorous, good for nothing, bastard.

Jacob paused and looked back up, he knew Nighthawk was going to see this, so he started talking to him, as if he was there in front of him.

Jacob: And I agree with you. I only hope that this footage helps you in your endeavors to raid this ship. I only hope that when you kill me, you do so out of an act of mercy rather than an act of vengeance. I screwed over a lot of people, but I gained valuable information in the process.

Jacob could feel the elevator slowing down, he needed to wrap it up.

Jacob: Welcome to the Division 7 floor of the Ulterior Motive, located between deck's 7 and 8. More video will follow. This is....

Jacob paused, he didn't want to use his rank.

Jacob: Jacob Sharpmen trying to save what's left of himself.

Jacob stopped talking, but he let the video continue to record as the elevator stopped. The doors opened to the Division 7 floor and he stepped inside. He looked around, there were various places he could go as he saw a three-way junction.

WEAPON DEVELOPMENT AND PROTOTYPES
HOLDING CELLS
ARMOR PROTOTYPES

Jacob smirked, he looked around and decided to walk straight, towards the holding cells.

On the pelican, Robertson smiled under his helmet. He could appreciate Jesse's enthusiasm on explosions and the respect he accepted Robertson had for them.

On the Divine Intervention, Vhat listened to Xyrho before being dismissed. He thought to himself, as he stepped off the phantom.

I'm not even sure I can see past my 'foolish' piety.

Instead, Vhat spoke aloud.

Vhat: "Yes, Shipmaster. I will prepare."

Vhat walked past Xyrho, his mind swarming and flooding with everything Dangerus and Xyrho had shared. Every time he replayed the conversation in his mind, he couldn't fathom how the Prophets could be wrong about something. The Prophets have always proven their abilities, their gifts, to the Covenant. He couldn't even believe that his Gods, the Forerunners, would construct something of evil design. Surely their kind and benevolent Gods, or at least Vhat's, wouldn't have allowed such unholy abominations to exist, could they?

Before he realized it, he had sub-consciously entered the corvette's weapon room. He looked around as many soldiers, Elites, Grunts and Jackals were all getting prepped for more combat. Then Vhat remembered something else from the conversation with Dangerus... Ultra. Vhat couldn't believe it. He was an Ultra now. His family back on Sangheilios would be honored and proud of his achievement, but he needed to wait before celebrating. He needed to make it off San Angeles alive before celebrations could begin.

Vhat had walked over to an available area, stripping off most of his armor, except his chest piece for replacements that were in better condition. When he was ready, Vhat moved to a different area where the helmets were. He grabbed the helmet for an Ultra and put it on. He noted how uncomfortable it felt, but it was new, fresh, respectable. He took a moment to feel the moment of putting it on and embracing his new honor.

On the Ulterior Motive:

Hammer Team had walked to an available Spartan armory on the ship. The team's leader had typed in authorization codes and setup the armory for Hammer Team, a small prompt on the keypad saying:

WELCOME BACK, HAMMER TEAM

The man smirked under his helmet as the doors opened to the armory. The Spartans walked in, the lights in the armory flicking on, showing the various required equipment for Spartans. As the team spread out to observe and get comfortable, the leader pulled out his gravity hammer and held it in his hands.

Man: "This place is missing something..."

The rest of the Spartans watched the man take his hammer and slam it hard into the floor of the armory to where it was lodged into the reinforced sheets of titanium. The gravity hammer looked reminiscent of the old folklore tale of King Arthur and Excalibur, the blade sticking out of the stone. The other Spartans laughed at their leaders joke. Then the female with the energy sword spoke up.

Woman: "Very funny, Thor."

The man, their leader, that she was talking to shrugged.

Thor: "Hey, I've got an alias to maintain, you know."

The three other Spartans laughed, all of Hammer Team removing their helmets and setting them down on a table. Thor walked to the center holotable and hooked up the datapad Yates gave them on Fireteam Harmony.

Thor: "Let's get down to business."
