What is Star Corps?

Star Corps is a play by post RPG. When you post you must wait till another user post. You take the role of your characters each different personalities or some have similar. So I'll answer some questions about it that you may have and any questions that need be answered. Q: What is the backstory? A: The colonies of an galaxy known as the Omeris Galaxy is the setting of Star Corps. A primary faction known as the United Star Corps is a military government that has a democracy in place. At OET 150 they invented Jump Gates; Structures capable of accelerating ships across the galaxy in a matter of hours instead of weeks and months. At OET 162 a wormhole opens up at Psysi 303 causing the wormhole's name to be WH303. The USC not realizing these wormholes are linked to another galaxy similar to theirs they place a jump gate there. Once completed the Jump Gate activated immediately bringing in a parasite from another unknown galaxy. The Syn came and infected the fleet by causing growths all over the ships, and eventually the world over it. The USC at around OET 165 they managed to push back the Syn to a quarrantined region of space where the jump gate is. Region 32 is a region that is a no fly zone. No warping through it. Q: What is the Syn? A: The Syn is an insectoid parasitic species thats similar to the flood from halo, however unlike the flood these species are predatory and when they take control over a body they don't look any different from the person who they took control of. The hybrid species of Humans and Syn are the Sylex they can procreate and eventually the mutation will get worse and worse as they do use the human reproductive process to cause the infection to get worse. The fetus inside the female is a human fetus but inside the fetus is an alien parasite that will mutate. After 3 generations of procreation between the Sylex creates a new rae that isn't human in appearance instead it looks like a unknown alien. They are called the Drekons. Q: Where are the ships from? A: They are from a web game called Astro Empires linked here Astroempires.com. They are creating 3D renditions of the ships. Q:Why isn't the Deathstar in here? A: To my AE players the Deathstar isn't in the RPG, due to overpowered and wouldn't balance the fight, it tip it in favor of the USC. So during the RPG any references to the Death Star it is a concept and won't be an actual ship till about 200 years from the start of the RPG. Q:Why did you post some ships and now restrict who has them? A: To prevent God Moding, if I had 10 roleplayers and they all had Leviathans, I know have the huge possiblity of god moding. The ships are going to be restricted until I decide to unrestrict them. Only a handful of these ships will be allowed total, each ship that is restricted during the RP I could count them on my hands. Now that doesn't mean there are none other than those. Dreadnoughts for instance will be seen but only when the Game master calls them in. Q: I hate this other guys character can I kill him? A: No, because until the Game Master (Erex) decides to kill a character off your character is damn near invincible, you can always harm another persons character but you will be roleplaying on the same team except some Syn Agents as they are called when a Sylex infilitrates the USC Navy. Q:What can get my character killed off? A: 1.)Not roleplaying as him enough. If you created a character and you don't roleplay with him as often as needed then he may be killed off. Now not everyone's character who is inactive will be killed off. There maybe a time where killing off a character would be bad for the RP, so he will be issued a court martial and USC agents will come arrest him. In the USC there is no process for a fair trial during a mission. If you are found guilty through circumstantial evidence your character will be hauled off to a USC prison until he is found not guilty. 2.) Trolling - Trolling will not be tolerated I will have a zero tolerance policy to trolling. You start to cause a rise out of a user not the character then I will kill the character off. Trolling will also be defined as posting out of character without alerting us, or posting off topic threads in the post RP. 3.) God Moding, you will be removed and banned from the Star Corps RP for god Moding. God Moding is like this: Your a captain of a corvette, and you killed a battleship in a single volley of fire power. However is it possible for a corvette to defeat a battleship? Yes it is, however it will require a genius level strategist to do so. But the favor is in the battleship, however the corvette has one advantage, Maneuverability defined as speed and agility. But just saying A corvette killed a battleship you will be required to tell how it did it, and it must be logically sound, as well as possible. A Corvette in a single volley cannot kill a battleship unless the battleship has been crippled and has no shielding and its already breaking apart but can still use weapons. 4.)Your character betrays the USC and is rooted out. If you are sending messages to the Sylex then you are guarranteed to be found out sometime but not directly up front. Its possible to spy but in the long run say a few years then yes you be found out. 5.) Posting stupid responses show a lack of intelligence. If your character is asked what are your thoughts and you say something like duhhhh I dunno, your character now sounds like he is high on drugs. Now is drug usage possible yes it is, but only the drugs Erex has defined as usable. Your character puts the entire fleet at risk as well due to stupidity. If your character is in a corvette and he starts to fly towards an Sylex Heavy cruiser and now a larger vessel thats already damaged comes in and saves his ass, then your character will be court martialed. Q:So My character is in love with another one of my characters can I have a sex scene? A: No, No sexual scenes that are graphically intense. If you post anything of the sorts you will get banned from the RP. Now you post something with permission of Erex something like this: Character 1 and character 2 start to kiss and carress and goes to a private room and makes love. Thats acceptable, posting something that your describe everything possible you will get in serious trouble. Q: My Character is a lower rank, when can I be promoted? A: Your characters promotion is determined by how active his character is, as well as how much he has done. So if your character is an Ensign it is possible for him to be promoted due to his exceptional combat record. However if your character is an Commandore to be promoted to an Admiral you must go above and beyond the call of duty. Q: Can my character be a fleet Admiral? A: No, At the moment fleet Admirals and Admirals are restricted ranks due to they use Titans and Leviathans. They are going to be restricted. Any character without expressed permission to be a fleet admiral will not be approved. Q: How do I post as my character is thinking? A: You put in Italics. That is how we will differentiate thinking from talking. Q: How descriptive should I be? A: As much as possible without getting sexual. Q: Is my character allowed to be religious? A: Yes, but you cannot post your characters religion as it being supreme to the others. The following religions will not be allowed in the post for whatever reason: Christianity, Islam, Satanism, Hinduism, Aethism, and Agnosticism; and any religion found on Earth. Your characters religion are from what are defined. This is so we don't a conflict of peoples actual religions. Now can you make up a religion? You may but you need to put it in the SCRPG discussion thread to think over it. Q: Is my character allowed to have a sexuality? A: Yes, Your character may have a sexual orientation, but your characters sexual orientation may not be dominant over someone elses orientation. Homophobic characters are allowed, but they may not post everytime they talk to a homosexual character their thoughts. As I'm sure there are Homosexuals, antihomosexuality isn't going to be tolerated. If you post as your character that is extremely offensive to anyone due to their orientation , the comment will be removed and you will be banned from Star Corps section. Q: My character speaks another language is that allowed? A: No, All species must speak same language or if it does speak another language you must specify he is wearing a Vocabulator which will translate their language into Standard the official language of Omeris galaxy which is Human English. Q: My ship is destroyed, can I make another one? A: Yes but if you go through 20 ships in a matter of 2 months, then no , you will be on another ship and the character will be court martialed. However if you lost ships because of Epic battles then maybe but you cannot go through 20 battleships or any ship bigger than a Cruiser 20 times and expect another ship. If your a unsheilded ship yes you may create more. Q: Whats the wiki for? A: It is a repository for all the information on Star Corps RPG. Your encouraged to post your character here as well as ships. All battles will be posted here. Q: Am I allowed to kill my character off myself? A: Of course, but you must describe how he or she died. Or you may give another person's character who hates your character permission to kill off yours. Q: I have a female character, are males going to be preffered? A: No, Sexism isn't allowed. Nor any gender will be preferred. Males are the most common, but that doesn't mean your female won't be passed over for any reason. Q: How do I post out of character? A: By putting it in parathesis like this: Erex walks to his room.(I got nothing.) Q: So are we only allowed to create Humans? A: No, humans though are the dominant species as they have spread around the Omeris Galaxy like a wildfire. Q: Can I create a character thats not USC? A: Yes you may have either a 1.)Sylex, or 2.) A Tey'talian. Tey'talians however have stolen USC ships and use them against the USC. But to prevent soo many pirates in the RP, You must have explicit permission to post a character as Tey'talian. And if given permission must stay in the role. Tey'talians are extremely violent, and show no ounce of fear which is why they lose so much to the USC because they will not surrender nor back down even when outnumbered many races believe them to be stupid for this however its a guarratee to paradise with the goddess.
