Meanwhile:
Barrabus continued to walk through the corridors, a very stern authority in his step. He was making no attempt at moving silently anymore. He wanted to be heard.
Barrabus then heard what Dangerus had reported over his comm line. He grunted, and responded.
Barrabus: I am still moving into position. I am close, however.
Tyber: Might wanna pick up the pace big guy. I am still intercepting some of the communications between The Trust, and it seems they are calling back all of the base personnel in order for them all to converge on, and defend the command center. Chances are...Dangerus is going to be hit from behind, whether he moves in or not. If we are going to get there to provide him with some backup, you need to turn your stomping into running...
Barrabus: Dangerus...watch your ass. YOu may be faced by an attack from behind. These Humans may try to rally, and converge on the command center. In effect, they may catch you from behind, and corner you. Be prepared for this. I do not need long.
Barrabus began to sprint. His Honor Guards all started to sprint after him.
Barrabus turned a corner, and was met by a directory mounted on the wall. He stopped and looked.
Tyber: The Command Center is down the corridor to your right. Go!
Barrabus turned to his right. He still held his Gravity Hammer in his hands, as he began to sprint once more. Before long, he was met by another wave of soldiers.
Immediately, Cerberus and Arcturus took point, protecting Barrabus from the gun fire.
Trust Sergeant: We got more! Get the chain guns going!
Two Trust Marines broke off to opposite ends of the corridor, and mounted two chainguns, both of which were behind sandbags and metal shielding to protect from enemy gun fire.
Scorpius moved forward and took aim with his Beam Rifle.
Scorpius: I got this...
Scorpius took aim at the first Marine and fired, the slug going right through the Marine's head.
Scorpius then turned his rifle, in the blink of an eye, and lined up the second shot, and hit the second Marine who was on the gun turret. Again, Scorpius put a slug right through the Marine's head.
Trust Sergeant: Our gunners are down! We need counter-
Scorpius put a slug through the head of the Marine that was talking, and barking orders.
Scorpius: Annoying creature...
Trust Corporal: The Sergeant is down...fall back...fall-
Scorpius had then put a round through the Corporal's head.
Scorpius: The next one the talks is the next one in charge...
Barrabus roared, as he pointed forward.
Barrabus: Advance on this filth!
Arcturus, Cerberus, and Krysus charged forward, leaping over the sand bags.
Cerberus was the first to make the jump. As soon as he landed, and slammed his Plasma Cannon down on the head of a Marine, breaking every bone in the Marine's neck, bringing the Marine down as if he were little more than a nail to be hammered down.
Krysus was the next to leap over the sand bags, as he used his Spiker as a melee weapon, slashing at every Marine in arm's length. He used the blades on his weapon to both impale and dismember his victims. Krysus always had a very twisted satisfaction with getting up close and personal and using blunt force and sharp weaponry. He had always enjoyed the feeling of an enemy's blood spraying in his face.
The other Trust Marines began to run, simply forgetting about their comrades who were being savagely killed by The Brutes.
Each of the four Honor Guards then howled, their battle cries filling the corridors.
Barrabus: Hunt down the cowards...tear their hearts from their chests and show it to them before they die!
The Honor Guards too chase. Barrabus simply folded his arms, and laughed. He knew that those Trust marines were not going to get far, and that they had no hope in outrunning blood thirsty Brutes.
Tyber: I have to admit big guy...you are pretty scary when you want to be. Though...I gotta respect the fact that you are still you, at heart. I guess nobody can say that you lost touch with your wild side...despite the fact that when you are around Humans you can be...docile...
Tye paused.
Tyber: I dunno...I always knew you had a vicious side...but to actually see you for who you really are, instead of the held back docile Brute that I got to know for most of these years...it is a pretty sharp contrast. At least now I can remind people not to piss you off, and have stories to back it up.
Barrabus didn't respond. He simply began to move forward. He stepped through the bodies and blood on the ground. Barrabus could hear screaming, and gun fire. Part of him felt very satisfied, knowing that The Trust was learning what happens when unwelcome guests set foot on his planet.
Barrabus then stopped. He could hear footsteps, as if someone was running. He saw a Trust marine bolt out from around the corner. His head was turned in the opposite direction, as if checking to see if he was being chased. Barrabus decided to holster his hammer...as he wanted to have a bit of "fun" with this Trust Marine.
Trust Marine: Fuck man...this is NOT what I signed up for...I was told this was going to be easy mon-
The Marine ran right into Barrabus, bouncing off of his abdomen, and flying back about 5 feet, and hitting the ground.
The Marine looked in horror as Barrabus stood of over.
Trust Marine: No...no...
The Marine rolled over and was crawling, trying to get back to his feet, but he was so scared, and in such a panicked state, all he could do was crawl.
Trust Marine: Somebody help me...
Barrabus grabbed this Marine by one of his feet, and pulled him back.
Trust Marine: OH GOD...HELP!
Barrabus then threw the Marine, by his leg, into a wall. The Marine hit the wall, his side arm flying from its holster, and landing at Barrabus' feet.
The Trust marine had the wing knocked out of him. He was trying to say anything...but he was so terrified, that he was nothing more than a broken person at this point. The Marine looked up at Barrabus.
Trust Marine: Ple...man...no...please...let me go...I swear...I won't do this again...I am just a kid...I just finished basic...my parents think I am with ONI...my friend got me into this...I don't wanna do this anymore...I quit...please don't kill me...PLEASE...I'm sorry...
Barrabus shook his head. He spat on the Marine in a sign of total disgust.
Barrabus: You are on my world...helping those who clone and abuse my kind...and you now want to "quit" because your death is upon you. You disgust me in more ways than I thought possible. You are a coward...begging for your life...you are unwilling to die with dignity...you are incapable of facing me like a soldier...you run from your allies when they are dying to save yourself...and you are helping The Trust.
The Marine was paralyzed in fear.
Barrabus looked to his feet, and picked up the Marines side arm.
Barrabus: This is your weapon...is it not!?
The Marine was silent. He was just shaking.
Barrabus growled, as he used his other hand to grabbed the Marine by the neck, and violently pull him into the air. He began to shake the Marine and snarl in his face.
Barrabus: Is this your weapon!?
The Marine totally broke down and he began to sob, wetting himself in the process.
Trust Marine: I just...want to go home...please...see my parents...tell them I love them...please. Please let me go...I am begging you...
Barrabus pulled the Marine closer, so they were eye to eye. Barrabus then spoke in a very low tone of voice, his rough voice sending chills down the Marine's spine.
Barrabus: I have no intention of letting you live. You are going to die...and your death will be slow...and it will be vicious...and it will be brutual...and it will be utterly without remorse, pity, or mercy. I am going to hang you by meat hook...skin you alive...over the course of a week...cook your skin in front of you. I will have you beaten and tenderized, so that every piece of meat on your bones is tender and chewy...and I will then place your head on my wall to remind me just how COWARDLY The Trust is...
Barrabus then tossed the Marine down the corridor, throwing the marine his gun as well.
Barrabus: Unless you want to try and fight...to try and kill me...to try and earn your freedom.
The Marine looked up at Barrabus. He then looked at his Magnum.
Barrabus: Fight me...
The Marine reached over to his Magnum. It was of the M6C series, just a standard 9mm side arm. It had a 12 round clip. He took aim at Barrabus and began to fire. He closed his eyes, and began to fire. He went through 10 rounds, only two rounds hitting Barrabus' shields, the rest of them missing due to his blind, random, frightened firing. The Marine stopped. He opened his eyes and saw Barrabus.
Barrabus began to growl, as he was not satisfied with this fight.
Barrabus: I am not impressed. Let's just hope the flesh on your bones proves to be more satisfying than your fighting skills.
The Marine looked at the gun. Without hesitation, the Marine stuck the Magnum in his own mouth, and pulled the trigger, blowing his brains out the back of his head.
Barrabus watched as the body toppled over. He then laughed.
Barrabus: I love it when they do that.
There was a moment of silence. Tye then had to interject.
Tyber: You were...you were...kidding...about all those things...right?
Barrabus paused to think about it. He then licked his lips.
Barrabus: No...I wasn't. In fact...I am hungry now...and after all this is said and done...I am going to eat one of the prisoners...
Tyber: Oh God...
