Rewill was thinking about the note he was now in possession of. Aelis and Edward knows he has it, but he was debating on what to do. Naturally he should show James. Even if James was told Thomas was dead, he wouldn't believe it. Despite their differences, they were best friend since they could comprehend friendship and they always would be. Rewill was also certain he had to turn it over to Captain Sharpmen since James is incapacitated and in surgery. As if Aelis knew what Rewill was thinking she spoke up softly so only they could hear.
Aelis: "If you don't want to hold onto it, I will keep it and I'll do the right thing and give it to James. The regulations state to turn over the evidence to a CO, they never said when or who specifically. So technically, we're still following rules. Plus James will need it to confirm our statements."
As they were carrying Thomas' body through the colony, many of the colonists who realized it was Thomas started to cry. They may not all have liked him, but he was like family, nevertheless, they mourned him as such. The trio finally arrived to the center of town where James gave his speech to his fellow colonists a month ago about joining the ONI military. Looking back, if James did die, at least he died saving his home. They set Thomas' body down in what looked like the exact center of the forum and backed off, allowing his people to mourn and grieve how they wished.
