HI GUYS! Okay so I received an assignment from my English teacher to create a speech on any topic I would like. Me and a very pro-ps3 friend agreed to go head to head with eachother. I will be arguing and persuading that the xbox is a better system, IMO, and that the ps3 is not. However, my english teacher owns and loves her ps3, so this may be a tough crowd. I figured, why not go and ask the TNO community?! They're controversial, they have good points, and the best of all, they're gamers! So! What I ask of you, is to use this thread as a brainstorming, or opinion flinging chatterbox. Please list, bullet, or express your likes and dislikes of the Wii, Xbox 360, Ps3, including but not limited too : Games, Graphics, Controllers, Ascesories, the system itself, marketing used for the system, the fanbase that the follows the system, the company, or any complaints about either gaming system. Ill appreciate any ideas, thoughts, comments, or opinions. My goal is to have a fun speech, but to also competitively shoot down, and rape the other systems, specifically ps3 :D The speech runtime is supposed to be about 3-5 minutes and is gonna be in front of a class of people including those who dont game, so while technical terms such as harddrive storage may be a valid point, i dont want to put the audience to sleep either. thanks again TNO community

Xbox vs PS3... You can compare specs, but arcitecture is what matters. Xbox 360 - 6 thread, triple core, dual threaded Xenon IBM 3.2 Ghz CPU PS3 - 8 core 3.2 Ghz multithreaded Cell IBM processor. The above is specs. If it was simply a numbers game, PS3 would win hands down...but specs means nothing next to architecture. You see, Xenon vs Cell...despite specs, are fairly matched. The Atchitecture of the Xenon is for general computing, while the cell is specifically designed for simple operations. In other words, cell prfers FLOPS (Floating Point Operations) over complex tasks. While the Xenon excels at doing everything, the might Cell, can only put its muscle to go use when it is crunching numbers and not when it is multi-threading shader calculations. The more complex the job, the worse the Cell performs. This is the flaw. Video games are highly...HIGHLY...complex. I would know, I just graduated university in game design. This is why software developers dislike the cell; the architecture is not designed for gaming, it isnt designed for complex calculations, such as real-time lighting, collision calculations, and shaders. This is why PS3 games have issues with in-game tearing. Xenon is like a normal PC processor, so it is built for gaming. While Cell is better at MPEG decoding and video streaming, it bombs as a gaming architecture
