Barrabus returned to his Assault carrier. he entered the normally deserted medical bay and grabbed the steel prongs. He dug into his bullet round and removed the bullet. He dropped it on the ground, blood splattered everywhere. Barrabus began to talk to himself.
Barrabus: I am getting sick of this no medical staff situation! Perhaps this is another way the humans can help us!
Meanwhile:
Vernette: Well...he should be back shortly. I would prefer that you stay here, the brutes may be allies, but they are brutes...the name says it all.

Vernette walks into his private quarters and contacts the ONI Base at Reach.

Vernette: I have news Gill.
Tavish: This should be good...whats the word from the front lines Preston.
Vernette: General Reiki is dead...I put the bullet through Christal's head personally.
Tavish:Excellent work Preston.
Vernette: There is more. The alien cruiser that had the human technology has also been destroyed, with a loss of almost all hands. The ship and the majority of its crew were killed in the attack. Vice Admiral Tyson is also dead. As a fun fact, I also killed the General's Daughter...I did not want any interference from her.
Tavish: All carried out with razor sharp efficiency! Well done Preston. What is the situation as it stands? Do we fully control Harvest.
Vernette: This is a bit tricky Gill...but I have it under control.
Tavish: What do you mean...tricky?
Vernette: Well...I sent a team of Spartans to destroy the Elites cruiser. However, we formed an unexpected alliance...I formed an unexpected alliance. Chieftain Barrabus came to me, he offered his help. He kept his end of the bargain. We are now working together to destroy the remainder of Christals and Tysons military force.
Tavish: You did exactly what Christal did...you formed an alliance with an alien race!
Vernette: Not exactly...we are not sharing technology. I made that very clear to Barrabus. He agreed to it.
Tavish: He agreed to that...and he is still helping you?
Vernette: He has proven invaluable! We both know that the alliance will end when this is all said and done...we keep eachother at arms length, but the cooperation is working.
Tavish: How long can you make this last?
Vernette: For as long as needed. Hopefully, this will be a drawn out battle and I can really get Under Barrabus' skin...perhaps even convince him to leave Harvest when its all said and done.
Tavish: Its worth a shot. I will hold back the official news of the Harvest incident until we clear up this little mess that Vice Admiral Tyson and the General caused. All communication with Harvest will go dark and we will place travel restrictions on the planet until further notice. We cannot let Tyson interfere with us and our plans. We cannot let him get word out to the rest of the UNSC.

Vernette: Calm down...its not the end of the world...wait...nuclear winter, insurrections...scratch that...it is the end of the world. However, the point remains the same. We will find them...it might take longer but we will find them. In the mean time Barrabus, return to the Devotion and charge the Excavation Laser. Scan the southern continent for any mountain ranges, caves, or gullies and begin selectively glassing those areas. This planet is fucked anyways, we might as well use all the resources at our fingertips to find the remaining insurrectionists.
Vernette looks at Scott.
Vernette: Debrief your Spartans. Do what you need to, but be ready at any time. As soon as I find our next lead, be ready to go.

Vernette walks back to his Pelican and requests the pilot fly him back to The Devotion. Once there, Vernette walks up to the bridge to find Barrabus.
Vernette: Barrabus...we may have serious problems with the Spartans...I think the reason you found nobody was because the Spartans leaked our attack plans.
Barrabus turned to face Vernette.
Barrabus: When did you learn about this?
Vernette: After inspecting that base down there...that was too clean...Spartans are good. However, there were no signs of battle, or any real battle for that matter. We have to keep an eye on them. I may be wrong, but I rarely am.
Barrabus: No matter...if they fall out of line...we can put them back in place.
Vernette: Then we are in agreement.

Barrabus: We have it covered.
Vernette, several Marines and the two brute majors enter Vernette's Vulture.

The Vulture exited the hanger bay and flew to the surface. Barrabus watched as the ODST drop pods dropped from The King Raven.

Brute Major: They are all offline at the moment, we have yet to install their power matrices!
Barrabus: We will hold the line, get the Engineers to work faster!

Barrabus looks at Scott, shocked!
Barrabus: What!?
Barrabus begins t fire his spikers. He jumps behind cover. He creates an open channel to broadcast a message.
Barrabus: Anybody...this is Barrabus, I need backup! The Human trashcans have gone rouge!
Vernette could here the communication from Barrabus from his Vulture.
Vernette: What? How is that possible! Hold on Chieftain, I will try and provide air support!
Barrabus: Hurry it up Vernette!

Barrabus drew his hammer.
Barrabus: Which one of you assholes is first?
Barrabus slams his hammer into the ground and then charges at the group. He swing the hammer, knocking two of the Spartans back. He turns around and kicks a third Spartan away.
Barrabus: You trashcans have another thing coming if you think you can bring me down!
a fourth and fifth Spartan tried to wrestle the hammer away from Barrabus. Barrabus kicked them off. He swung his hammer at them, knocking them back. Barrabus was then hit from behind by a few Spartans. He tumbled to the ground but quickly recovered and got to his feet.
Barrabus: You things are pathetic!
The Spartans got mad. They pulled out their SMGs and assault rifles and began to fire at Barrabus. Barrabus jumped behind cover, but not before his shields were completely drained.
Barrabus: Whoa...not good!
A Vulture soars in the sky. It began to fire its auto cannons at the Spartans. Most of the shots missed, but they were close enough to cause a radial knock back from the impact with the ground. The Spartans were scattered.
Barrabus: Things are starting to look up!

the spartans that werent knocked down by the blast fired rockets and threw grenades at the low flying vulture turning their attention away from barrabus.

Vernette: Whoa! Not good!
The majority of the rockets hit the Vulture, knocking out one of the auto cannons and damaging one of the engines.
Vernette: Shit...I have lost one of my manuvering thrusters! I need to pull up!
The Vulture began to pull upwards but another rocket hit the other thruster. The Vulture began to drop. It smashed into the ground roughly 60 yards away from the Spartans.

"blue team, on my mark............now!!" scott says as the grenades detonate around the gunners and the team of spartans inside the base open fire on the marines firing the machine guns.
*meanwhile*
two of the spartans break off from main group of spartans to secure the wreckage
while the 11 remaining spartans hammer and move on barrabus's concealed position.
(barrabus killed 2 spartans)

Vernette shakes his head. He removes the seat harnes and tries to stand up but he stumbles, still dizzy and disorientated from the crash.
Vernette: That is absolute shit if you ask me. Damn it, I hate Spartans...
(feel free to capture Vernette)
Meanwhile:
Barrabus saw the Vulture crash. He jumped out from cover but was met by more of the Spartans. He readied his hammer and charged.

"tyson will like this." he stated.
the spartans charged at the brute refusing to give up their superior position. costing two more spartans their lives but wounding barrabus in the process.
*meanwhile*
"east wing secure. we have reinforcements flooding the complex. i think this fights ours boys." scott said over the comm as a large team of elites rushed past him.

Barrabus fell to his knees, grasping a wound at his side caused by two 50 caliber rounds from a sniper rifle.
Barrabus: It will take more then a few bullets to put me down!
Barrabus tried to get up but was tackled down by several of the remaining Spartans. Barrabus pushed one of them off, but his wound made fighting back extremely difficult.

"shane, take blue team and capture barrbus i'll call in evac."
shane nods and runs to the waning fight
"tyson mission accomplished, with a few extra bonuses we need exfil." scott says looking to vernette.

Meanwhile: The Brutes and the remaining humans ran from the base in a firing retreat.
Brute Major: Damn it! We lost the Scarab facility...
ODST Sergeant: Chill out! We will get it back, we were caught by surprise, that's all. Lets regroup!
Brute Major: I say we go back now!
ODST Sergeant: If we go back now, in our weakened, disorganized state, we will get our asses kicked again! We call for evac, and we plan to retake this base!

Tyson: You captured BOTH of their commanders? I am impressed! I am beyond impressed. What I would not give to have a word with Vernette but he looks like he is...asleep.
Barrabus: Bite your tongue human before I rip it out!
Tyson: You are in no position to rip anything out my friend. Take our..."guests" to the holding cells. Let them contemplate their final hours before we execute them for high crimes.
Tyson turns to Scott.
Tyson: Nicely done Scott.

Tyson: We control the brutes Scarabs now. With those under our command, along with your Spartans, we are pretty much unbeatable on the ground. We also have a trump card. The Brutes do not want those Scarabs destroyed. If they did, that facility would have been blasted from space. So long as we have these, we hold the keys to victory.
Tyson looked at a large map of harvest.
Tyson: However, we only have so many Scarabs and too many targets. Our next objective is to locate and destroy the Brute armories on Harvest.
Meanwhile:
Barrabus kicks Vernette again.
Barrabus: Wake up!
Vernette groans.
Vernette: Stop kicking me you fucking ape!
Barrabus: We are going to die if we don't get the fuck out of here!
Vernette: Where is here.
Vernette opens his eyes and begins to squint.
Barrabus: Here...is a very bad place...

Barrabus: This is Covenant tech, these are energy cuffs, no amount of muscle will break these things!
Vernette: So...they are technology based? This is a plus!

Vernette: Well...
Vernette sat up, his hands were also bound behind his back.
Vernette: If I could see what I was doing, I could possibly disable these things...
Barrabus: Well...that doesn't help us.
Vernette: It is something though. I need a bit more time to think.

Tyson nodded.
Tyson: Well...I think we are all going to move planet side before long. This ship is NOT holding up so well, and we still have quite a few bases on the planet that are very well hidden. This ship took a lot of damage in the engagement with that Brute ship and it won't hold out much longer.
Tyson looked at the map and pointed at an isolated island about 10 Km off the coast of the largest Continent.
Tyson: This area is very remote and isolated. We have a base there. More then likely, I will be here in the next few hours. We are going to strip this ship down and blow it up. We cannot allow Vernette's people to use anything here. We are too vulnerable here.
Tyson looked back at Scott.
Tyson: Also Scott...We have been unable to contact the 4 Spartans on The King Raven. We fear they may have been captured or killed.
Meanwhile:
Barrabus: Any ideas yet Vernette?
Vernette: I have one...but I don't really like it...
Barrabus: What is it?
Vernette: Well...I MIGHT be able to bust us out of these cuffs IF my hands were in front of me. I might be able to slide my hands under my legs here...its going to hurt...but I will get the desired result.
Barrabus: You look nimble, I am sure you can work that out.
Vernette: Its going to be tough...but I MIGHT be able to pull it off.
Barrabus: Get to it, before they decide to execute us!

(well, once I break Vernette and Barrabus out, we will continue with the same characters in the new thread)
Vernette managed to maneuver his legs through his arms, at great expense to his personal convert.
Vernette: Ohhhh...God...this fucking hurts!
Barrabus: Shhh! They will get suspicious!
Vernette bit his tongue to try and suppress the noise. he eventually had his arms at the front of his body.
Vernette: Alright...let me see your cuffs...
Vernette began to fiddle with Barrabus' handcuffs.
Barrabus: Do you know what you are doing?
Vernette: Not really...
Barrabus rolled his eyes.
Vernette: Hold on...
Vernette unpinned one of the medals from his jacket. He exposed the pin and began to dig at Barrabus' cuffs.
Vernette: I THINK I found whatever powers these things. If I can remove it...
Barrabus' cuffs shut off. His hands were free.
Barrabus: Wow! Nice work Vernette!
Vernette: Go, those bars can't hold you! Go and get us some guns!

Meanwhile:
Barrabus beat down several Marines and grabbed their guns. He walked back to the holding cells and found Vernette on his feet. Barrabus used a M6C Pistol and shot Vernette's cufs. breaking them in half.
Barrabus: There, that should be better> We can remove that device when we get back to one of our ships.
Vernette took a pistol and an Assault rifle from Barrabus.
Vernette: Alright, we should try and make it to the hanger bay.
Barrabus: Where is it?
Vernette: Well...this looks like a Frigate class ship so the hanger should be...three decks down!
Barrabus: I will take point!

Vernette and Barrabus waited outside an elevator, waiting for it to open up. Barrabus held his side where he was wounded. He was bleeding.
Vernette: That looks pretty bad dude!
Barrabus: I will live...
Vernette: Yeah...hmmm...
Barrabus: How long does it take for this elevator?
Vernette: It is taking too long! It should have been here by down! They may have shut them down. Tyson may or may not know we are on the loose.
Barrabus: I can just force this door then. We can make our way down manually!

Shane breaks through the Elevator door and is immediatly pushed further down the Elevator shaft. He falls several floors before grabbing onto the rope that supports the elevator. Barrabus was pushed back Several feet when Scott kicked Barrabus in the face. Barrabus spit blood out of his mouth onto the ground.
Barrabus: Ahhh... was hoping to see you again!
Vernette: You made a big mistake not siding with us Scott. I almost feel bad for you Scott.

Vernette grinned.
Vernette: You know Scott, I am no match for you...but I think I can take care of Shane with little effort!
Vernette points his gun at the elevator shaft rope and pulls the trigger, the rope snaps. Barrabus used the distraction to grab Scotts wrist with one hand and Scotts neck with the other hand. Barrabus pushed Scott against a wall trying to force the blade out of his hands.
Barrabus: I don't need weapons to kill you!

then points it at barrabus as he slams him in the chest with a rifle butt and knocks him down the shaft again this time with a bone crunching slam seconds later.

Barrabus trips Scott to the ground. Barrabus' pulls Scott's Helmet off his head and smacks him in the face a few times. Barrabus tosses the Helmet aside and headbutts Scott with all his might. The impact lacerates Barrabus' forehead. Blood begins to drip down his face.

Barrabus climbs to his feet. He looks at Vernette.
Barrabus: Come on...lets go!
Vernette: I...I...Oh man...this ain't good...
Barrabus picks Vernette up.
Barrabus: You are stronger then this! You survived a beating from me, you can pull through a single bullet wound!
Barrabus walks over to the Elevator shaft and looks down. He couldn't see anything.
Barrabus: We need to find an alternate route!
Barrabus limps down the corridor, with an assault rifle in his hand. HE eventually finds another elevator shaft and forces it open. He climbs down several decks and then busts down the door. He immediately found himself in the hanger bay, with many pelicans lined up. He ran into one and looked at the controls.
Barrabus: Vernette! You need to pilot us out of here!
Vernette groaned as he stumbled over to the pilots seat with barrabus' help.
Barrabus: Hurry!
Vernette: I am trying...
The rear hatch sealed. Vernette armed the missiles on the Pelican and blew the hanger bay door off. The vacuum of Space sucked the other Pelicans out. Vernette then engaged the engines and left Tyson's ship. He flew down towards the surface.
Meanwhile:
Tyson tried to contact Shane and Scott.
Tyson: Shane? Scott? Please respond!

Tyson and a medical team finally arrived on the prison deck and saw Scott. Tyson ran over to Scott and knelt down beside him.
