I love launch trailers, they make me want games I've never heard of. And nothing like a good pre order bonus to make me have to buy. In fact, it's because of those trailers, I buy games without knowing whether they are good or bad! So, to give tribute to these launch and pre order bonus trailers, I've devised a list, to show my personal favorites.
Here is how this list will work,
-Will, or did it make me buy the game?
-How well choreographed was the trailer?
-Did it make me laugh my ass off, or shit my pants?
-How much I liked the game overall
10. Bioshock Launch trailer
Now that's what you call a big daddy.
9. Battlefield Bad Company 2 Launch trailer
While this trailer may not have Johnny Cash or a chilling monologue, I just love this trailer, The music fits the whole situation very well. Again, I put this somewhat low on the list due to the fact that it while yes, this trailer did spike my interest into the game, the trailer is not very well choreographed, music wise, or wasn't as well choreographed as say....the splinter cell trailer
8. Mass Effect 2 Pre order Bonus trailer
Short and sweet, it made me laugh, gave me even more incentive to buy it, and the game is just perfect. However, the trailer give me a "meh, I've seen better" feeling, and while yes, the armor is beautiful, I've settled on something different. and the armor, is for all intents and purposes, useless to me. And possibly other people.
7. Halo 3 ODST vidoc: Bip.Bap.Bam
This trailer, is just too funny, and considering how fast I got out of my seat to go pre order Halo 3 ODST, it surely had an impact. and while yes this game has it's shortcomings, I honestly bought this game for one reason.
ODST, anyone who's seen my rpg characters knows, that I am a die hard ODST fan, and this game concept is just a wet dream for me.
6. Bioshock 2 launch trailer
This trailer honestly made me shat my pants....so.....points to Bioshock 2's launch trailer.
But really, this game just made me more curious then exited, you all know how much I hate the new Big Daddy redesign, so this game takes a snug spot at number 6.
5. Left 4 dead 2 TV spot 2
Okay, so maybe I'm cheatinng with this one, but hear me out. This trailer honest to god made me want it, desire it, need it. the music fits perfectly, and L4D2 is an excellent game. Thank god for Clutch.
4. Modern Warfare 2 launch trailer
Epic, is all I can say. Even though I hate Eminem, this trailer made his song fit. and give it credit, any game that makes me watch the trailer over 10 times i one sitting deserves a high spot on this list.
3. Splinter Cell Conviction Launch trailer
This trailer is just amazing, everyhting, the chilling monologue in the begining, and how it perfectly transitions into one of my favorite Johnny Cash songs. Although I had to put this pretty low on the list, I am by no means a Splinter Cell fan, and as amazing as this trailer looks, I do not intend on buying it. But in all means, this trailer has me thinking about it.
2. Borderlands PC launch trailer
How I don't own this game by now, is beyond me, but really, from what I've heard, it's amazing, and with the time I've played with it, it's an A++ title. I honestly love this trailer, but it's just shy of the number one spot, but really, can you blame me?
